I think it's safe to say that a few Eagles players have packed it in for the season. I had to laugh watching DJack jogging on those fly routes
Oh, and Pete Carroll FINALLY BEAT VINCE YOUNG!!

That game was hilarious. When Lynch managed to power out of that scrum at the start, the tone of the game was set. Jackson didn't have to throw much, Lynch pummeled them on the run. Only good thing Eagles had going for them was McCoy. DJack either wants out of Philly or for Andy Reid and Vince Young to rack off. It's going to be one ugly postseason in Philadelphia. Seattle has some good signs. If their defense matures, they get a proper QB and another decent WR, they'll be a positive team in a year or two.

But solomon is pretty much correct: http://www.aolnews.com/2008/09/15/th...ouston-texans/ Though the article is from 2008, I doubt the popularity has rose that much just because of Eyeshield 21. |

DeSean Jackson acting like a clown to the media. I'm sure the season has been frustrating, but I think he could have handled it better than this. I don't know this guy, none of us do, but I just get the perception that he's a punk or isn't taking his career that seriously. Take a look.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-player...content_stream Losing just isn't enough for this team. My goodness.

And on the other side, it's shiny happy people starring Pete Carroll!

Heck American Football has ranked amongst the top 5 most watched/popular sports in Japan. It usually follows behind Sumo, Soccer, and Baseball, but nonetheless it is garnering quite a bit of a following in Japan, especially as of late.

Wasn't it the case that the reason he was a 2nd round draft pick instead of first round despite his amazing talent was: A) Small and injury-prone B) Attitude/work ethic issues Those two factors are the reasons he wasn't paid a hilarious amount of money to begin with, and looks like those two factors never really went away. I don't get it--I'm in the job market, and I see an opportunity to work (even for free) as a chance to learn, a chance to build references, a chance to demonstrate what I'm capable of to ONE person, and here Desean's out there dogging it. Is this how any normal human being would be looking for a new job? Mike Vick needs to take him aside and slap him a few times. I'm pretty sure if Peyton Manning or Tom Brady (ESPECIALLY Brady) had to put up with his antics, they'd give him a tongue-lashing so quickly and thoroughly that he'd be an angel. Unfortunately, Belichick keeps people on an even shorter leash than Brady so it was bye bye Moss when he acted up. But for DJax to think that he deserves to get paid like a Larry Fitzgerald or a Megatron...that's plainly laughable. He can't beat a taller corner for a jump ball, the risk of him being put out for good if someone rings his bell again (hello, Dunta Robinson!) are very real, and the only thing he can do is outrun someone. IMO the Eagles should pay the man--they've seen what he's capable of--but it should be little in guarantees and all based on performance. If he's going to dog it, or be scared of going over the middle, or suddenly have alligator arms when he hears footsteps because he doesn't want to be crushed, then screw that. If he wants a big paycheck, then he should be incentivized to make plays. Plus, what I think we need are better hot-reads receivers for Vick as opposed to one that's only useful if Vick can hold onto the ball for 6 seconds, because that's getting him hurt, and would really get any quarterback roughed up if every second they had to hold onto the ball to give a couple of fast midgets a chance to get open. Why are the Patriots so amazing? Because they play dink-and-dunk offense. You can't really get after Brady all too well because he'll dump it off to one of several guys, you can't double team anyone because there'll always be some schmo that gets open. If the Pats had any running game worth a damn, they may very well be undefeated right now. Funny because Lesean McCoy is the best running back in the NFL (yes, better than AP) yet our coaching staff is constantly pass-happy and gets our best QB hurt. I say we need to clean house on the sideline, bring in Cowher or some other defensively-minded coach who'll be willing to pound the rock with the best runner in the NFL, take some pressure off of Vick by extension, and also have some designed Vick running plays. All I know is this: it's quite clear that for all of these years, the reason the Eagles were competitive was that we had Dawkins, and the late great Jim Johnson carrying a team through superior defense when we had a goofball quarterback that could never win big games. Now that we have a quarterback that can do it all, we have a trash defense, and a refusal to utilize the best runner in the NFL. It's all so very pathetic.

What's interesting as far as NFL receivers go, you don't see the teams that are good year in and year out having to put up with them. Green Bay, Indianapolis, New England, Pittsburgh, etc.

I think the Patriots decided that dealing with diva wide receivers isn't worth it. The Pats have always had strong tight ends, but the pairing of Gronkowski and Hernandez provides a lot of firepower with a lot less drama. (Well, we did have that brief spat over Gronko's photos with a porn actress, but that lasted only a few days.)
I'm quite surprised that we've seen so little from Ochocinco. It's hard to accept the "he can't learn the playbook" excuses a dozen weeks into the season. The coaches probably have just decided they don't really need that wide threat. And there's always Welker.

The funny thing is it doesn't matter how good or bad we play...We just have so many beast mode human beings on this team that eventually we'll just wear the other team out...Honey badger, my God...If Pittsburgh drafts him, he'll be another Palomalu type...Gotta give it to Les Miles, I absolutely wanted him fired last season, but there has to be a method to his hat's madness because he's getting it done...I mean even if we somehow lose to Alabama we'll still get a share of the title (Although that would suck a$$)...
