If they could have skipped the recap and just taken Episode 6 as an ending for a
25 Minute Episode, the series would be off to a better start.

Honestly, as much as I was looking forward to this series, it is difficult to keep my spirits up.

Heck I'd even take a Reboot/Remake of the OVA series over this. Preferably with eventual tie-ins to the War on Geminar Series ...

I'd also look forward to a continuation in that Universe ...

How would you "improve" the series? What could they have done better?
Should they have done something completely different?

I do enjoy the premise of the story:
Tenchi finally finished school and starts as a Teacher-in-Training, hijinks ensue ...
obviously a girl school 'cause, hey, why not, and we have a new possible harem

I do miss the old girls though

Having just watched Episode 7 and having understood little due to my abysmal Japanese Skills I can say:

I am looking forward to it again.
Ayaka's VA sounds surprisingly close to the original, Washu's gift basket was funny and Harem Hijinks -were my Japanese comprehension skills suddenly lost me- was entertaining, to me at least.

As stated before, I am looking forward to this show, although the time-format is extremely off-putting as well as the choice to end last week with a summary-episode.
I am a little less enthused about this friday, for I fear another Recap.
I do wonder how things will develop as Tenchi + Harem encounter Momo + Harem. Especially considering that Momo appears to develops feelings -which I do not consider a spoiler because: Tenchi Muyo= Harem and Momo is female main in the series, ergo she will develop feelings for him- and the reaction of the other member of the StuCo.

Well, episode 7 has what most Tenchi fans were probably most looking forward to. Finally get to see the old gang again. Ayeka's new seiyuu works, although I was kind of hoping Sasami would sound a little different since she's a teenager now. And damn, but Ryoko's new design is quite sexy.

I had to laugh at Tenchi in the bath -- he actually does have a mullet, not just a rat tail.

I'll admit that I was relieved when Sasami stuck her head out from the curtain. Now that the main regulars are all present, maybe I'll give it a few more episodes...

Sasami's VA made me die a little inside. It's even worse than Crystal Usagi.

Thankfully, Ryoko still sounds sultry as ever, and Ayeka sounds more ladylike. I'd love to see them square off again.

Sigh... I'm really starting to hate this series in a sense that I just want to drop it altogether due to the cliche, random filler school setting scenes. Then an episode like this comes along with the nostalgic feel and enjoyable interaction of the old cast & I can't help but feel compelled to stick around some more.

... Maybe I'll just view the episodes where the original cast appears and skip the others so I don't have to torture myself anymore than need be.

This anime pisses me off, on one hand I want ti drop it because it's making Tenchi look like the biggest chump and on the other one I can't drop it because it might show him in all his powerful glory at some point. What are they doing to me?

I'm ok with this. If it really bothers people, they can just wait a week like for most shows, and watch it in one go (5 episodes straight). It's like a 10 episodes 1 cour series.

I find Tenchi's current residence funny. They have to conserve on everything. I actually like the new Ayeka VA. She sounds just right. Ryoko has her powers so it really feels like an OVA continuation. As for Sasami, I would have preferred an older voice, maybe similar to Tsunami. Still, the old gang is always good to see.

Ryoko!!! dammit as soon as I try to leave you just dangle her in my face like that.... OK I'll give it another shot. Now on a different note this seams to be a continuation of the OVA doesn't it? I hope we get to see Kami Tenchi and some tie in to Isekai. Still hate all the new girls I don't even know why this couldn't just continue with the old cast oh well. Sorry for the rant I just like the franchise allot

Ep. 8: Mihoshi's seiyuu sounds a bit...rusty? Or maybe age has changed her voice. Tenchi and Sasami's seiyuus also sound a little off. At least Ryoko still sounds great.

Speaking of Ryoko, I really like her presentation in this episode. Passionate and dangerous, she lost a lot of her "edge" in the original OVAs once she got lovey dovey with Tenchi.

I'm still not sure if this is a continuation. Momo seems like a Jurain princess, and came to earth from the past. Ryoko seems like the demon of legend. Tenchi has his massive strength. Ryoko has her red crystals. Only thing that is off is Tenchi's sword. OVA hilt is rounded and houses Ryoko's crystals. I think this hilt is from the TV series.

I'm just confused at this point on if this is a continuation or a hybrid of sorts.

Tenchi appears to be a case of Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass (which we all really knew), but as to whether we'll see more of this... no clue, since it appears he'll only resort to it as a last method, otherwise keeping up the weak teacher facade. __________________ Gifted...or Cursed?
