Got past the 30% mark...

Still going well, first antagonist gone and some nice character development happened for everyone. Something I like about series with many characters is when you get to see multiple couple pairings happen...

That said...

Kaito put his hands on another two classmates and it's revealed that he has a harem of beautiful girl familiars that always reside within him. Moreover a bit more is revealed about their past on Earth.

It turns out that Kaito discovered mythological figures, legendary characters, youkai all exist on Earth. He traveled across the world (with clones) and made friends with various gods, saw legendary weapons still owned by the descendants of heroes and found out that just like how he suddenly ended up at Enefia, there were also residents of Enefia who suddenly ended up on Earth. There's various hidden villages, ruins and lots of them work in the entertainment industry because of their beautiful figures...

Also many of his classmates, in fact most people in general apparently have blood of other races within them. Famous and renown families especially so. Kaito apparently has dragon blood within him though its been floating around that there's something more to it.

Needless to say because of this reveal Kaito's harem on Earth increased covering popular actresses and idols...

Also there were lots of gods and long lived races still alive, casually managing stores and using the net. There's also various events that hasn't been told in detail yet but Kaito ended up also putting his hands on his childhood friend...

I noticed that the story on (present time)Enefia side seems to progress slowly mainly because there's a lot of bits where the story starts recollecting about the past. Honestly speaking it's not as bad as it is in other series because the present age is peaceful so it's actually fun to hear about the past. Right now sidestories only talk about Earth side but I hope that later on the author will tell about Kaito's journey in Enefia since tidbits of it has been mentioned numerous times by now.

In the most recent portion that I read of the sidestories, it started with them (10+ years in the future after returning from Enefia from present story time) recollecting the past of how they met each other. In that time, Kaito apparently has 2 children with the demon lord and is neighbors with his best friend who also similarly married and has a daughter now.

It's not revealed how Kaito's other relationships are like but I don't believe in Kaito only having 2 children with the main heroine after putting his hands on so many people. I guess that stuff will be left to be revealed later since it'll spoil the fun.

Still don't see why this isn't more popular.

... I still remember when I started Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, beginning when it just aired...

First few episodes it just vaguely drew my interest so I watched it weekly then suddenly once the rock began rolling it became my one of my all time favorites both in anime and LN. Season 3 where Sunrise, WHERE.

HA HA HA, does the world turn around him you ask?

1. Has a harem. Had sex with pretty much every important existence introduced so far even going from legendary beasts to ancient dragons that can blow away continents if they want. (female and non-married of course). Naturally they're more than willing to lend him a hand if he actually needs one.
2. Has an army of loyal subordinates following him for various reasons like him picking them up as an orphan.
3. Has an army of (female) familiars and of course contracted spirits (more women) that normally reside within him.
4. Due to the contract from the spirits and his large amount of magic he has eternal youth and is semi-immortal, at the very least Kaito himself stated that even if his head gets blown off he probably won't die.
5. Its been stated that if he gets serious he can very well likely cut the planet in two.
6. There's still a big secret left to be revealed that a certain someone here apparently spoiled but I haven't read the spoilers yet so there.

Yeah uh... I'm pretty sure the world already turns around the protagonist enough as it is. It's not like the story frequently switches PoV either, the story ultimately is based from the protagonist PoV.

However you have to understand, this story is basically like after chapters of Arifureta if you've read it. In other words, there's no such thing as a big evil antagonist they have to unite together to fight. Hence why he's just watching over his classmates and supporting them in the shadows. Although to be fair the author implies that it'll change in the future...

That said, there's still plenty of ORE TUEEE bits when incidents break out.

Anyhow, it's not like the story is focused on all 500~ students that were caught up in the mess. It's just a main few classmates and friends of Kaito that he really supports and protects with all his might so unimportant characters are still unimportant.

50% mark...

Enefia side entered a lull state, I guess if anything it's building up for a new arc. It's revealed that when Kaito's stress in coping with large amounts of paperwork reaches a certain point... he runs away. This was mentioned a while back and everyone who knows him takes it extremely seriously raising questions about why and... it was revealed why.

It's because every single time he escapes to relief stress from dealing with paperwork, he comes back with a woman or girl. Moreover every time they're top class beauties with deep circumstances and high talent in some area. In reality, there's a fair few subordinates of Kaito that were picked up in these whims. But it's not interesting for some of the women to have Kaito's harem increase every time so they (try to) prevent it with all their might.

However they failed. Kaito ended up wandering into a brothel (owned by his territory for the record) and was recommended to meet a newly entered girl who has circumstances that ended up with her being sold here due to being a mixed blood. Kaito saw through her talent and redeemed her for a large sum of money(though since it's owned by his territory it's basically just the money circulating around).

Thus Kaito added a capable maid + secretary into his harem.

Afterwards there was also various SoL bits developing the school as they gradually get independence and peeking on the love circumstances and first dates of some other main characters.

It turned out that they lacked a capable blacksmith to maintain their weapon and armor so Kaito went to find one and... needless to say, came back with two beautiful twins that are also capable blacksmiths at the same time. His harem increases.

After that a new labyrinth was discovered nearby in his territory but haven't read that far into what happens yet. Also it seems that the emperor is finally catching the wind of Kaito's return so there's slowly developments in that direction.

Meanwhile on the Earth backstory side...

Kaito's adventures in meeting Japan gods including famous figures like Susanoo and Amaterasu as well as unifying different factions within Japan was peeked into. In short there's 3 different factions in Japan regarding magical existences and Kaito was asked to become the leader of one faction. Through this and that, Kaito was caught up in a coup d'etat of another faction which is led by a beautiful vampire and Kaito ended up saving it, seizing leadership of the faction and more harem members on Earth.

Also it's confirmed that Kaito's powers surpass gods and hes being paid attention in various ways by the hidden side of the world. Namely in the sense of being able to change the balance of the world. Though Japan in general attempts to hide the existence of Kaito saying that if the west, namely the church finds out about him, as they originally don't like other races which Japan has plenty of, they might end up labeling him as Satan and invading Japan.

There were also fun tidbits about gods and merging into the society, having a system to watch over their believers and using modern technology. First it was Kaito playing games, then the demon lord got dragged into the game world. Finally they were playing games together with gods/goddesses by the end of the sidestory.

Some interesting points revealed here is that it's noted that Kaito tries to be as neutral as possible, treating no one specially so as to not cause grudges between his women. However as he has harems on both Enefia and Earth, Kaito has been developing technology to travel between the two sides alone, secret from even the main heroine. At the end of the Earth side story Kaito was talking to all of the elemental spirits he contracted to and the existence of a new girl was revealed whose identity remains a mystery but interestingly Kaito told the spirits to keep it a secret from the main heroine because she gets sulky knowing about her.

This is a surprise because being a demon lord and all, she generally doesn't care about Kaito increasing his harem though still sympathizes with the girls that do.

Finally half way through. I should probably refer to girls by their names but I didn't really intend to even talk this much about it so... yeah.

The world building for this series is really solid. It's nice to see the setting gradually expand with some casual details being written in.

Nope. To begin with it's not like he's aggressively chasing women, from his point of view they just naturally come to him for some reason he's unaware of.

As for the Mythos...

In terms of backstory revealed so far he has only met the Japanese gods but in present time Kaito has mentioned meeting Greek, Indian and generally various gods scattered across the world. Notably however, Kaito mentioned being on bad terms with the church because they're completely on guard of his existence. Because of this, Kaito couldn't see the real originals of legendary relics like Longinus.

Kaito is friends with ancient dragons that are said to be one of the strongest existences in the world which everyone fears and gives their greatest respect to (after all, they can lightly destroy an entire continent if they get pissed off). For some of the female ones hes had sex with them and other than ancient dragons, there's the great elemental spirits which he is contracted with so... yeah. The spirits apparently typically reside within his spiritual world because they found it convenient how they hang out together there without wasting magic and can generate anything they want (including gaming machines, board games etc) making it quite noisy inside Kaito.

Meanwhile, at the 70% mark...

No new backstories yet, however instead during present timeline Kaito has mentioned various things that I hope we'll see in a later backstory.

For the most part the school has stabilized with most students establishing themselves as adventurers, his friends have been learning to lead their own parties and organize their strategies when necessary as well so overall you can say they've developed well.

Kaito has gotten very negligent with hiding his identity since hes beginning to find it a pain in the ass. Still he tentatively hides things, just more and more people are finding out even though they're told to shut up about it. Kaito's greater elemental spirits were officially introduced to everyone, they're apparently worshiped like gods in the country so residents of this world all paid great respect to them. That is, even the demon lord. Kaito is the only one that treats them as equals and vice versa.

Because a second wave of new adventurers from among the students have registered, a bunch of new characters were introduced and a 2nd tournament was held among students as well as a festival by the non-combatant students.

A lot of fun scenes happened here and there during this, probably the most plot-wise notable events include that Kaito was revealed to be able to summon spirits of the dead, namely his old companions and materialize them with forbidden magic. According to Kaito, it's something like going to the Akashic records and copying their information creating a full clone of his dead companions. Following that, Kaito reunited with his old companions and made an appearance in the tournament with his true appearance in an old generation vs new generation battle. His companions were glad to be able to see their descendants and they lectured them on fighting using this chance.

It's noted that this isn't revival from the dead although tentatively they apparently retain some degree of information between summons. The world apparently corrects them because they're supposed to be "dead" therefore they'll eventually disappear again.

Either way, it was very nice to finally see his old companions in person as they were mentioned a lot when talking about Kaito's past. On that topic, the demon lord is approaching the truth of Kaito's identity but before reaching it, the spirit of water suddenly appeared and severely warned her to not go any further. The overpowering by her instinctively even made her get on her knees.

Other notable points include the demon lord being immersed in research and finally reaching the point of gods, in other words: the creation of artificial humans, homunculuses. She created 3 of them which all ended up being women and because she was pursuing complete reproduction of a human, they also have reproductive capabilities properly installed (though she somewhat feels that it was a bad idea because it means they'll fall for Kaito's fangs).

They were put as subordinates of the maid mentioned in the previous spoilers and officially act as Kaito's bodyguards. You may ask why he needs bodyguards... well, in short it's to intimidate people to not even try attacking him. Kaito cried a little when he found out that it's not that people were worried about him, it was because of worry of his surroundings getting caught up with people trying to kill him.

Speaking of that maid, her past was also revealed. She was raised in facilities for making capable and good concubines but she was defective so they sold her. Kaito found out about her defect the hard way... namely, she has excessive devotion to her master and has moodswings about that. Kaito was caught up in her fearing that she'll be thrown away again and then she grumbled on why Kaito didn't put his hands on her yet (reason is because he only hired her to be his secretary). It ended in her pushing Kaito down and Kaito giving up and letting her do as she pleases.

Finally the demon lord also created some huge mechas which Kaito tested. Unexpected for her, the mecha awoke to an ego during Kaito's testing. The mecha revealed that she (yes, it's a she) likes flying so Kaito flew all over the place and inadvertently went overboard flying all the way to space.

For Earth backstory bits...

There were more abstract mentions of Kaito's adventures in Earth side. Aside from the Japanese and Greek myths, Kaito also met Arthurian myths and Celtic myths. Apparently there were various events that made him antagonize the Vatican which leads to a new topic...

Kaito notes that the Earth side world is actually in quite a delicate state where a third world war may break out at any time. And Kaito believes that if his classmates manage to return back home, it's not a happily ever after. Just like how Kaito can use his powers fine in Earth, they will similarly be able to use abilities they gained here in Earth as well. Kaito expects that many organizations would look to kidnap the students for research and may pull the trigger for a world war. However if it's for the peace of his close people, Kaito doesn't mind throwing the world into chaos.

In short, Kaito's priorities in life is mostly the small, personally important people over the greater, faceless people he doesn't even know.

Kaito also revealed that he has a way to go between worlds to everyone and also that he'll eventually marry everyone as necessary. In other words he intends to take responsibility for his actions. Some trivia mentioned here is that Kaito uses contraceptive magic which is why no one gets pregnant. Though he notes that particularly strong people have the danger of them forcibly removing the magic...

Feels like I've come quite far... last push until catching up to latest.

in regards to the spirits, they were from the other world then brought along with him when he returned to Earth, right? . . . on your mention of them able to create anything.... well, living the kind of culture Japan has, it will make even the most unusual existence turn into such . . . pseudo-NEETs, gamers and whatnots along the way . . .

as for the magic contraceptives, that explains why there's no family trees/mushrooms of his in that world . . .

for the maid/secretary, that's one broken girl . . . she's not leaning towards being a yandere, right?

for Earthside's possible WWIII, he's basically a God already in that world so surely he could "mediate" things . . . . and I agree with his priorities .. reminds me of a different wn MC but can't remember who . . .

A light update at 75%:

New backstory arc that's a continuation of the previous one. Onmyoji's recognized Kaito's existence as a threat that may pull the trigger for a new world war. They decided to "take care" (read: kill) of him while they can...

...

Needless to say, it didn't go well at all. They gathered the strongest "backside" Japan army including descendants of various Sengoku age heroes but were beaten up pretty easily. Spies from various foreign powers were also closely observing this battle. However as Kaito also recognizes the problems at hand, he took care to not kill anyone so that Japan doesn't lose its main fighting power and end up getting invaded.

There was also a small subplot with Kaito breaking up the tradition onmyoji's had of sacrificing people to maintain seals on legendary existences like the nine tailed fox. Kaito broke the seal, beat her up and took her in as another one of the villagers in the factions that he was given leadership of. Kaito also went around Japan doing the same for various other seals.

In this arc, world powers were introduced in various countries. Comically, it turns out that America despite being a superpower in the frontside of the world, is actually practically powerless in the backside. This is because all of their magicians and whatnot were originally from Britain and when they declared independence, all of their magicians withdrew back to Britain due to pressure from their houses.

India, Britain myths generally had a friendly response to hearing about Kaito's existence. Christian myth, there was a meeting with all of the Seraphims deciding what to do with Kaito and Chinese myths seem to be aiming to try to get rid of Kaito because of him beginning to unify all of the factions in Japan.

A backstory of the witch hunt age was also revealed about how one of the factions came to form (escaping Europe and constructing a "paradise" for vampires and other races like them to live in peace, ended up being established at Japan). A surprising reveal is that while most of the angels supported the witch hunt, there were exceptions. Among the Seraphims, Gabriel secretly supported them in the shadows. She deliberately turned a blind eye to the places they hid in and gave them advice at times, sometimes materials as well.

Though if the Seraphims seriously moved they would all be exterminated, they couldn't move for the witch hunt because they had to keep gods from other myths at bay. As a trivia, Gabriel worked hard in the aforementioned conference about Kaito to help buy time for them.

Finally there was a remaining mystery of why Gabriel supported them...

It's implied that it has to do with the mysterious girl that showed up in the previous backstory (who the demon lord is extremely bad with and gets sulky if she's around Kaito)...

It's revealed that she can apparently freely go between Earth and Enefia. Moreover she knows Gabriel... when you put this and that together, there's actually a light possibility that the girl is the omnipotent god that the church worships. Gabriel was sighing saying that she hoped that her personality would round a bit after falling in love.

At present time Enefia, it seems like we may finally be getting introduced to royalty as a girl showed up asking Kaito for help (as an adventurer) and introduced herself using the same last name as his old companion (prince, later emperor of the country) when hiding his identity.

1. Generally just random strong youkais etc that Kaito beat into submission.

2. Less forgot, more like couldn't since as said, their mages all ran away so they practically have nothing to work on.

3. No one knows the full extent of Kaito's powers on Earth yet but for time being they recognize him as someone equal to Seraphims. Meanwhile the current state of Earth is very delicate, basically any small change could pull the trigger of a new war. Kaito's existence basically breaks the balance that was maintained somehow so now all of the countries are beginning to move. By the way, the reality of things is that Kaito surpasses most gods in power, though I won't say all since we haven't seen all of them yet.

4. Pretty much still wrapped in mystery, it wasn't flat out admitted that she was a god either. She was just seen going back and forth Enefia/Earth and later seen talking to Gabriel who apparently knows her well so when you piece the two together... yeah, sounds pretty possible.

Currently at 90% mark, almost caught up...

For time being Enefia side...

Kaito received a request from the (undercover) princess. It's to go to an extremely troublesome dungeon to defeat a skeleton boss and receive an orb of curse removal. Because of her mistake in a battle against a lich king, it tried to curse her but her companion covered for her and took the curse instead. Though her other companion is buying time, she will die in 1 month.

She ended up leaving a letter and running away, desperately looking for a strong adventurer to partner with coughevenifitmeanssellingherbodycough so that she can save her companion.

Her personality is actually largely similar to Kaito's true personality so it was quite funny watching them bicker with each other, not really common to see.

This and that happened with some near-tentacle rape incidents... if you want to know what happened, let's just say that there's a forest full of monsters straight out of hdoujins with slimy liquid, tentacles and preys on things to lay eggs within them (gender, race irrelevant as long as there's a hole). Needless to say it ranks #1 in the monsters adventurers don't want to approach the most and they had to go through a forest of it. By the way, after the incident... it probably goes without saying that yet another woman fell to Kaito's fangs...

In any case they successfully arrived at the town with the dungeon.

In the meantime, behind the scenes Kaito's women were steeling themselves for an upcoming (love) war. It was commented that Kaito's identity would eventually spread and that the women who waited 300 years for Kaito's return isn't just them. More and more competition will show up and all of them are strong enemies (or else they wouldn't have been able to patiently wait 300 years for him). It was questioned whether or not his classmates (the girls in love with him) have the resolve to enter this competition with their short contact with him.

While at it, it was revealed that Kaito's past adventures in Enefia only sound pretty because Kaito isn't mentioning the down and dirty parts of it. Another notable reveal is that Kaito had someone he loves from the bottom of his heart at the start. He wasn't a natural womanizer from the very beginning. And it's implied that the girl he loved was some sort of god of the world in Enefia. Not too clear on this part.

Back to Kaito, after some small incidents he successfully managed to clear the dungeon with the princess. On the way, she revealed to Kaito that she's an "aristocrat" who ran away from home because she disliked forced marriages and became an adventurer with some two loyal retainers that were with him since childhood.

She notices that Kaito isn't very human either but Kaito says he just has dragon blood within him. The princess notices that it's not the full truth though, because royalty blood has the ability to see the truth of things, seeing Kaito she feels something not quite dragon not and definitely not human.

Just as they happily wanted to return with the orb... An earthquake shook and they fell deeper into the dungeon ending up in some sort of cave.

Kaito felt a sense of incompatibility and the answer derived from it was the worst. They fell into the cave of a dormant world class monster (in rpg terms, just think of it as a world boss). To add on to the problems: it's beginning to wake up.

As it's hardly time to joke around anymore, Kaito escaped the cave with the princess and immediately called for backup. Kaito participated in the battle using a mecha to hide his identity and to limit his powers. Another troublesome point for Kaito is that the blood of the world class monster draws in a large amount of monsters. Meaning Kaito had to fend off the monster, while defending the town from damage, moreover without letting it bleed and to top all of it off, while hiding his identity.

Speaking of which, a mermaid princess found out about Kaito's return in this arc.

After this and that happened, with the united efforts of various territories, adventurers and whatnot they successfully defeated the world class monster with minimal damage.

Afterwards Kaito separated from the princess who decided to return home after a long time, of course to marry Kaito.

Next for the backstory part...

The arc this time around is about the feast of gods. Kaito was invited to participate in it and during this arc, aside from general bonding with the Japanese gods... such as Kaito seducing Amaterasu... it was the introduction of new gods and heroes.

Kaito met a sword god (probably has a source but I'm really not familiar enough with myths) and fought him, ending up losing and becoming his disciple because he was impressed by Kaito breaking his sword and evading an attack he was confident in landing so he came to want to see just how far Kaito can grow.

For the record, Kaito didn't lose in a true meaning, Kaito lost in terms of swordsmanship. Since as said, if Kaito gets serious then he can destroy the planet so swordsmanship or whatever is practically irrelevant at that stage.

It was revealed that most heroes in this world, because of their massive magic power, even after death they remain in this world. After that whether or not they want to disappear is up to them, which is why you can still meet various famous heroes if you travel around.

Indra visited the feast and became drinking bros with Kaito and Susanno. 2 weeks into the feast, no matter how good they are at holding their liquor all 3 of them got drunk and on a whim of Indra, they decided to go to Hongkong to play in a casino.

At Hongkong they met Son Goku who turned out to be a woman... but she's called a monkey for a good reason, because she has zero delicacy. Even for Kaito it's his first encounter with such a woman. Because of that she's hardly recognized as a woman despite looking fine as one.

After playing around a bit they decide to go continue drinking over at Indra's home in India. After introducing some more India gods, they executed a plot on Kaito and attacking him in the middle of the night with two gods, one of them being Vritra and the other I don't know. It's revealed that Indra wanted to test Kaito because it's highly possible that Seraphims will move for him in the future and they want to know just how strong Kaito is before they do so they can move accordingly as well.

Needless to say, regardless of it being 2v1 and Vritra being one of the strongest India gods, Kaito beat both of them up and called it a day. After extracting punishment on Indra, all of them continued drinking for another few days before they decided to return to Japan.

On the way back however... they were caught up in a trap setup by the taoists of China. They apparently want to kill Kaito because of what he's doing in Japan, it's a bit annoying to explain why they found out about them but in short there's a Britain aristocrat that served as an intelligence officer who happened to be at Hongkong with his family and found out about Kaito visiting the place, afterwards he ended up getting his daughter taken hostage and blah blah.

Needless to say, Britain raged over this and decided to beg help from Arthur and the knights of the round table.

The help wasn't exactly necessary though, in the end the taoists used a magic to seal god powers temporarily but Kaito wasn't affected by it obviously. Kaito didn't even need to move as Son Goku got enraged at them taking a child as a hostage and attacked an army of thousands alone. In the meantime Kaito worked on releasing the seal while carefreely chatting with the gods (zero tension). It was noted that if Kaito wanted, he could forcibly just blow the seal away but it could cause a disaster of blowing up the entire region so he decided to do things carefully.

After China's army was beaten to pulp and they sent off the Britain aristocrat, they returned home.

Back at Japan the demon lord asked why Kaito wants to become stronger despite already practically being at the peak of the world. Kaito answered that he wanted to become the unjustness that will overturn all of the unjust events in the world. He was traumatized by his friends and companions dying in his adventure in Enefia and still has nightmares over it. Therefore he decided to become stronger, strong to the very limit until he cannot become any stronger, wherever that is.

Hearing those words, a water spirit materialized giving Kaito her blessings. It was revealed that just as Enefia has elemental spirits, Earth also has its own set of elemental spirits. They share some information so they know about Kaito but they decided to judge Kaito themselves before deciding to lend their powers to him.

No one knows about this because she stopped time during this meeting. It seems elemental spirits are above gods in this world because they're part of the system of the world.

Afterwards Kaito contemplated a bit and decided to go out and take revenge for China's attack on them. After all, its no fun to be on the receiving side.

In the meantime, various worldpowers began to move as well. Britain officially decided to side with Kaito, Seraphims began to move, America requested research cooperation with Britain, etc etc.

For the most part that's all of the released chapters so far. Overall a very solid series, really, though I said this from the very start... why isn't this thing more popular?
