Utsumi just gets screwed in whatever he does, doesn't he? Man, there should be rules to how badly a mangaka hurts the main character without giving him anything good happening. Reminds me of a Kouji Seo work. :P

As for Shou, I've lost any respect I've had for her. She's content being the second-hand girlfriend and doing whatever he senpai wants. Yeah, she has her own feelings, which I can understand, but still...

As for that picture with Yuki... Sigh. I'm really hoping that's just in Utsumi's imagination and not a real scene. My feelings on the "Good Ending"? Utsumi is going to get so depressed because of the evil women in his life, he commits suicide to escape from them.

I just want to see something good happen to Utsumi. The manga is starting to really depress me more than anything.

Seems like the author is taking some sort of pleasure in making the hero suffer. But I wonder how long the readers can endure it when the character they associate to gets new pile of crap dumped on his head with each new issue without anything positive happening?

Yes, I know, that the more pathetic underdog character is, the more impressive his raise becomes, but there really should be a limit to this.

In Medaka such character is Zenkichi, but in there no particularly bad things happen to him - just things showing how useless and pathetic he is, while in here seems that only bad things happen to a hero with whatever the girl he tries to become closer with.

It only seems worse because the guy is actually quite likable and nice and doesn't really do anything bad.

I too wish he would just try to go with Eri because obviously caring for the other two girls will just make him more and more screwed up.

The guy enters and starts shouting at Utsumi who he is and what is his relationship with Yuki.

Utsu answers that he is a friend while wondering who the heck this guys is and how he can walk so freely in Yuki's room...

Then the guy gives a sort of making fun sigh saying

Oh? Just an innocent friendship. Well if you are aiming for Yuki you should give up straight away.

Then he notes that if Utsu is just a friend why he is stripped, and Utsu tells that he got wet and the asks what relations does it have to the guy and he answers that Yuki will bind her future with him.

Then he adds that she still sees him as a cousin but soon it will change blah blah blah (Utsu is relieved thinking that he is just a boastful cousin).

Then the Ryou (guys name) says that its only a matter of time and when he sees Utsu laughing from him he tells that he bets Utsu never had a bath together with Yuki like he did.

Then Utsu wanting to boast says that he bets he never went into a hotel with Yuki as well (having in mind that time) which makes Ryou angry and attack him.

Then Yuki comes in and starts shouting why Ryuou came back and he should let Ustu go, then the cousin starts asking what is her relation to Utsu and Yuki tells that it is all misunderstanding and he is nothing more than just a friend for her (which is what shocks Ustu).

Then the causing guy says that Utsu should stop depending on Yuki like baby when he does not know a thing about Yuki.

Which causes Utsumi think about Yuki and his feelings.

Then after seeing Sou hickey he totally looses it and fails his test.

Then Eri announces they are going to do co-study training camp which makes Yuki and Utsu stare at her in surprise and thus ch ends.

Personally I thiunk Sou already did it. With such players as her boyfriend everything goes quick and this manga already showed that it is not a shounen romance but sick seinen drama so it is quite likely or else you wont see the scene of Yuki being fucked to begin with. Well just another pile of crap to add on Utsu's head as it seems. Mangaka really takes enjoyment on shitting on him as it seems.

Considering the mangaka is a woman, she probably created a character thinking that male readers would like-- someone who starts out getting beat up, but starts getting better as it goes on. Of course, it'll eventually start driving away readers when nothing but bad stuff happens to him without any good to balance it out.

The mangaka basically did everything she could to ruin Shou in our eyes. Now she's hurt Yuki's image. She needs to have something good happen to Utsumi and soon... instead of this constant emo fest we're getting.

Considering it's only the guys love life that's in the dumps, that's hardly anything. Obviously Yuki only sees him as a friend. Didn't she just say in chapter 11 that she had a hard time believing in love because of what happened to her in the past? And you all expect her to suddenly change her mind within 5 chapters? WTF.

I think she'll take a notice in him as she knows that he's a good guy after getting to know him and he's right now going through pain of not getting the girl he wanted after all the effort he put through. They already went out on a "date" and they seem to click well together so who knows she may give him a chance with her...

it could be that when utsumi somehow gets together with shou, then yuki believes in love and will start to think of utsumi as a romantic partner, cliched but highly possible

Yep! I agree with you, its perfectly plausible that Yuki sees Utsumi only as a friend for now and it would've been quite unrealistic if she suddenly fell in love with him.

Yeah I think so too and I certainly hope so, a steady progress, where they slowly develop their relationship, after getting to know and trust one another more and more is the best. I think even Utsumi will first need to completely get over Shou and gain sincere feelings for Yuki, for Yuki to give him a a chance with her because Yuki will never accept Utsumi if his feelings for her are half-baked as she has already been hurt before and will only accept a sincere and loyal guy who can make her believe in love and men once again, so, if Utsumi only goes after Yuki due to peer-pressure or with half-baked feelings, he will only get rejected and cause hurt to both himself and Yuki. Yuki isn't being cruel, she doesnt even know, that Utsumi can fall in love with her as in her mind Utsumi's feelings for Shou were too strong for him to have a feeling for another gir, so Yuki thinks Utsumi only sees her as a friend and she treats him likewise because honestly it will take quite a while for Yuki to consider a love and a guy again. I am perfectly happy how Yuki and Utsumi's relationship is progressing. I dont see why Utsumi needs to be given a break from his bad-luck and dont agree that nothing good ever happens to him, I mean, what happened to him and Shou happens to alot of teenagers and its all a part of growing up and having to see the girl he loved with someone else is also something that he has to accept and move on as that's life as this would make him stronger and mature while having Yuki by his side as his hope/outlet for his love even if its only at the friendship level now but just having her there beside him is soothing in itself, so its still a "Good-Ending" for Utsumi as it doesnt mean that "Utsumi doesn't get a break does he" which is wrong as Yuki is his break while his mates and Eri are also there for him. Homnestly I dont quite see how Utsumi is being mistreated that horribly

I think all the girls here are behaving pretty normally, and none of them are wicked or torturing Utsumi. I mean Yuki already knows that he is a good guy and sees him as a friend which might grow to love later on and about Shou, she too started to develop feelings for him until you-know-what but even that was acceptable in my books and doesnt really lower Shou IMO because ----

Shou accepted her Senpai's confession over Utsumi because she has been in love with her Senpai for way longer than Utsumi while her feelings for Utsumi were still at a budding level and so when the senpai confessed before her date with Utsumi, there really was no question about who she would choose out of the two guys even if it means to be a rebound girl, Shou is perfectly happy being the Senpai's girlfriend because she never stopped loving him and wanted to hear those 3 little words for so long, so she just accepted what her heart was feeling for a long time, 9 out of 10 girls in her position would've done the same and once she was his girlfriend, the senpai can do whatever he wants with her however fast as he wants and there's no reason for Shou to feel guilty as her feelings for Utsumi never got the chance to fully blossom and become strong enough to go steady with the senpai and take it slow when Shou was waiting to be loved by her Senpai for 3 years and to Shou(although we, think differently) the Senpai, too is still the kind guy she remembers and she thinks that his passion for her are as strong as hers so, why take it slow and steady and a hickey is perfectly acceptable, its the couple choice what they do, why woud this lower one's opinion of Shou? I mean, Shou really seriously consider giving Utsumi's feelings a chance but later couldnt accept the date because, being the sincere person she is, Shou felt it might be considered cheating if she went out on a date with another boy even after already being in a relationship with her senpai, so she cancelled the date and waited to tell Utsumi about her already being taken when they next met up in school and not just tell him over the phone and it was a complete coincidence when Shou met Utsumi in the tennis shop, and Shou really seemed sincere with her apology and seemed in quite a bit of anguish in having to turn down Utsumi but she didnt hide her true feelings and was honest with both her feelings and with Utsumi and Utsumi too, accepted it like a man, and wished her good-luck, they both behaved as adults. Utsumi was just unlucky that he got beaten to the punch by the Senpai and nothing more, it was all timing and luck that went wrong for Utsumi because I believe if they had managed to go out on that date Shou would've accepted Utsumi's confession and even if the Senpai had confessed to her later she would've turned down the Senpai as she would already be in a relationship with Utsumi.

Sorry about the long rant but I dont think GE is as bad as people are making it out to be because I dont think Utsumi is being tortured that badly by the girls around him as much as a Yamato/Haruto and Utsumi is quite a likeable character himself

Dunno if you've been following early discussions about this chapter's raw but it's not really clear if she was actually raped. Many people think it was consensual, recorded and shown to some dorks by her former boyfriend, her rather "calm" expression when thinking about it supports this i think. I write this post for I myself like to think that too. I hope it's revealed in the future.

Exactly, it's only 16 chapters in as well for a manga that could end up being over 100 chapters if popular enough. Yuki's character would be butchered if she fell in love with him quick yet you have people complaining.. go figure..

You are probably right. Drama, good or bad, causes discussion and stimulates interests and sales.

If the two get together now, it would just be another Suzuka situation where silly things happen and the main couple takes 10 chapters to temperary break up, 10 chapters feeling sad, then 10 chapters trying out new things, and at the end back together. As far as I can see it, Yuki seems to be the only real ending here.

Oh point of interest/inquiry:

Some people had said that this was a massively popular oneshot before. And the success of the oneshot directly caused this manga to become a series.
Perhaps someone can share some information on that oneshot so we can make some logical conclusions on future activites? Thanks.
