That being said I was quite happy that they animated these chapters! I also like each of the demi getting focus and development and the like (although Yuuki is still my personal favorite).

It seems that Tetsuo has a history of stretching the rules even from his student days. Perhaps the vice principal is right to watch him carefully, but for the sake of the plot he will probably go too far. But if he just were to talk privately to the parents to have them sit down and talk with their children about the teacher, the parents might also start worrying a little. Machi in particular would probably become visibly flustered. Hikari might blurt out something thoughtless about hugging and kissing. And Yuki might mention that he made her cry.
I mean, these are kids barely past puberty. Machi is the most physically adult of the lot, and this episode she was so impatient to kiss her teacher that she literally lost her head for a moment there. |

Channeling -slightly eccentric- educators, perhaps a good time to promote people like Neil deGrasse Tyson. Science can be fun and sexy.
... with Souma's "puddle thinking" the writers may just have explained the reason for the puddles in the opening song animation ... Last edited by Verso Sciolto; 2017-03-11 at 22:02. |

All about Machi this time but got to say that is convenient leaving your head there to keep watching tv while your body dose something else Well that is some theory that guy came up with

...though to be fair, I had to get to PhD level to start hearing that discussed in different terms. I was literally taught during my undergraduate courses that "human observation influences the outcome" was how QM works. So it's bullcrap, but very widespread bullcrap (the fact that QM is so crazy counter-intuitive doesn't help). Plus let's face it, they need to justify something that is basically 'magic' in the context of the show, so that's the closest you can come to a pseudo-scientific explanation for it. On another note, I want to see a fanfiction about humanity launching the Dullahan, the first faster-than-light starship, built using the results of Machi's work .

well, remember Souma is a romanticist who seems to have the tendency to exaggerate things
For instance, while the phrase "observation determines the outcome" (I'm paraphrasing greatly here) is technically not wrong, his interpretation holds the same meaning as "reality manipulation" like casting magic

But the whole latter part of his spiel is based on the idea that human observation influences the outcome, which he then develops into a highly anthropocentric view of the universe. The problem is that "observation," when referring to this form of science, doesn't have a damn thing to do with humans, or any living thing at all. Humans are completely irrelevant to the process. Listening to a supposed expert use a pop-culture misunderstanding of science to come to blatantly erroneous conclusions is... cringe-worthy.

well, let's just say Souma is a..."cringy" guy!? ....
.... ....I'll see myself in the corner now..... P.S: I wonder why no one talked about how "normal" Machi would look like , she looked real tall, like a real senior there P.S.2: How tall is Tetsuo then? I bet it should be close to 6'3 considering how towering he is to everyone else

The average height of a 17-yo male in Japan is 5'7" (170 cm). Normally men don't grow a lot beyond that age, so Sensei is incredibly tall compared to the average Japanese man.

Consider it a bit late, but several Youtube clips of funny scenes has made me interested in picking this show up.
This actually fell off my radar because I thought that it would dwell on either of two extremes—being too cutesy and being too serious (as I judged from the title). But it turns out that our buff biology teacher treats them with the care of a typical teacher and the consideration of a biology major and puts this show within a decent balance. It somehow reminds me of Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, with a ghost looking into the supernatural under the point of view of science. Character designs remind me of Oreimo, btw. So far, there's nothing that prevents me from enjoying the show, not even Hikari's shenanigans. I could only hope that I can catch up before the last episode. EDIT: You know that it was a good decision. Watched six episodes in one sitting. q(=w=)p

Episodes 7-10: Caught up on the latest episode! Takahashi-sensei has slowly become closer to the four Demis at school. Sakie seems interested in him, Yuki has improved socially, and Machi has made a circle of friends thanks to him and Hikari. But his thirst for knowledge has only intensified. There's also something that gravely worried me. No, that's not Souma's "romanticized" insight on quantum mechanics, it's something that Takahashi-sensei has said during his trip over at Musashino University:
"Screw ethics." We all know about his approach to teaching and the research he's doing with Hikari, Yuki, Machi and Sakie. But what if he has been treading past the lines he's supposed to honor as an instructor? Souma has implied that he has been doing this "screw ethics" thing as an undergraduate, but this paints the entire series in a different light after this episode. What if Takahashi-sensei has been exploiting the four Demis for the sake of his own postgraduate thesis? Next episode will tell if his intimate approach to demihuman research will be dealt with by the seemingly suspicious vice principal. You know, despite looking villainous, the vice principal might not be doing something wrong if he decided to remove Takahashi-sensei from the faculty. After all, Yuki, Hikari and Machi are part of the student body he's tasked to protect.

Some people seem to believe that teachers should not have any interaction with students beyond standing up and lecturing at them from the front of the classroom. Other people put teachers on the level of nearly family: trusted friends, counselors, and close confidants who you can go to with anything.
From the perspective of the first group of people, simply the fact that he's been anywhere near these girls outside of class should result in him being locked up for life. From the other perspective... eh. I do think he probably shouldn't hug them as much as he does... which he realized at the end of this episode. And that's something that's also worth noting: his final realization is the opposite of his previous "screw ethics." He ends with "I guess ethics are important." He basically realizes that he can't just dismiss it all for the sake of playing scientist. I don't know what's going to happen with the vice principle. It seems like there could be some drama, although that doesn't really suit this series all that well. However, I am confident things will work out.
