At the end of the day i truly enjoyed what we heard of the Kai score, and i'll keep on doing as i listen to the three released soundtracks.

Yeah. I liked Kai's stuff until the realization too.

Actually, it gives me a newfound appreciation for Avatar's soundtrack.

Glad to hear the original OST isn't fraught with it.

Also, I'm soooooo glad that they used Movie 9's SSJ2 BGM in this episode. That's seriously one of my favorite tracks ever.
Gyumao and Chi-Chi might be able to sense ki. They've never been shown to, but since Gyumao studied under the Turtle Hermit he should be able to. Of course, that's not the reason, but it can still make sense if you rationalize it that way, lol.

Yeah, these moments were just great. It's one of the reasons why I think this is a perfect ending as well, because everyone got involved, and the once evil Piccolo and Vegeta show their development as heroes. Fitting that Vegeta's blast distracted Cell just long enough for Gohan to vaporize him; for all Vegeta's mistakes that was still an awesome scene, especially given how damaged he was. And you gotta love Piccolo being the first to jump out there and inspire everyone else to do the same. What a great character.

Well, that was filler... But pretty damn good filler, that's for sure. Certainly added coolness points for all the more "useless" heroes. All of their final speeches were great, both well-written and in-character.

The only part I felt was kinda dumb was how their ki blasts worked other than Piccolo's first one. That one was all right cause he just blasted it and it had no affect and disappeared. But when they started firing those continuous blasts that were connecting with Cell's body yet having zero affect it was just like "...what?" Not only did that look a little silly, but if that's how it was then Just go up close and beat the crap out of his arms or something.

Just keep in mind they didn't plan it that way, as it's a side effect of the earthquake. It'll probably end up being a bonus on the DVD/Blu-ray.

Well, 97 was a pretty fitting end, though it's always a little sad to see Goku go...but Kai is over! I thought it was a great run.

I can not believe that despite being in the TOP 5 of anime TV ratings since it started, they're ending it right here, planned or not. They really should have continued through Buu. Disappointed to say the least. I really hope this isn't the very last we ever see of Dragonball.

What a weird ending to the series: series got cancelled, last episode didn't air and the music was replaced in the last two episodes.

Ah well shame it ended.

Yeah it really wasn't a good end for Kai. So many problems, making you think that a Kai version of the Buu saga will never happen.

I still think it's good parts more than make up for its flaws. There were some really well directed cuts like:

1. Goku's Illness and dying by #19's hand as a cliffhanger.
2. Vegeta's first SSJ transformation and asskicking all in one episode.
3. Goku's serious fight with Cell up to Cell Barrier in a single episode.
4. The Piccolo vs. 17 fight was just all-around epic with cuts and new music.
5. Every lame episode cut from Namek Saga.

They should've left out the opening if the song appears anyway.......amateurs.

By the way.....Gohan, Krillin, Trunks and Yamcha would make a great 7-years team.

Oh don't get me wrong, Kai has been an absolute brilliant watch, though it's just a shame it ended with a few problems.

So, did they keep the line in where Goku says King Kai was revived by Shenron? Not sure how much I trust the subs on this one, since you clearly see the halo around King Kai's head still. Especially since he had just said "Bulma is more important than I am", which... makes absolutely zero sense.

Also, was the first wish to revive everyone killed by Cell, or just the good people? I know they use the "good people" qualifier at some points, just not sure if it's done here.

One more thing. Originally, didn't Vegeta fly off saying he'd never fight again? Seems that they either changed it to "I need to train" or the subs are just horrendous for this episode.

That's an accurate translation but it's an art error. The manga makes the same mistake, and I think in Buu saga King Kai has a halo throughout.

No, everyone was revived, which I guess is why #17 gets to come back too

That's a mistranslation. He says "オレはもう戦わん" which means "I will fight no more."

Well, A16 did say that neither of them were really evil, so there could be a loop hole there. In any case, thanks for answering the other two.

GT was never canon and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
