I think the only thing about 2-1/2-2 are the carriers. If you equip your ships with anti-air guns, it usually isn't too bad to pass. 2-3 should be ok mid-way if you can pass 2-2, but then the end boss have higher grades (flagship class) of CV and BB

I hardly see carrier in 2-2, though. Most of the time the enemy team consists of heavy cruiser as you can see here, which hurt a lot.

Do Heavy Cruisers have proper counters though? I was under the impression they're the "do-everything" ship of the game.

There are carrier/light carriers all past the 1st node.

Finally managed to pass 2-4. Fuel and steel was definitely running low on the past few days of attempts - the random roulette was not on my side and pointed me to go in weird directions. Used 3 battleships, 1 aircraft carrier and 2 heavy cruiser to get through. Was considering leveling up a 4th battleship for the mission, but good thing I got through before them eating up more resources

They do everything but they aren't proficient at anything either. They can fill a spot if you don't know what to put, but for specific purposes, they are just meh.
You can always grind 2 just in case for later maps (generally, train Maya considering she has a very good AA stats).

Oh hey, lucked out again and got Chitose. Seaplane tender sisters are a go!

Too bad I haven't gotten any luck with Battleships though. Kept on getting Heavy Cruisers, and even then they're ones I already have. Kind of bummed out too when I noticed one construction time was for a Takao-class... only for it to turn into another Maya.

Btw, which is efficient map for farming transport/supply ships? I have never been able to complete the weekly "kill 50 transport ships" mission because the compass just feel like not going any other node aside from the boss in both 2-2 and 2-3. Does it completely depend on luck?

You're right, I was looking at the 2-1 map instead.

2-2/2-3 has the transports and seems the easiest... 3-2 also has it, but it's with the boss.

If you get it pass 2-2, BB will be abundant...

Still looking for Haruna and another carrier.
Will try to construct another BB and CV as they say RNGoddess smile brighter after maintenance.

Providing I even unlock 2-2 that is. The compass girls seem to love diverting me from the Boss node when I have my heaviest hitters, and THEN only direct me there when I'm grinding something (which just ends up with many of my girls taking long dips in the bath.

So until then, it's construction again and again until I get more battleships that aren't Fusou or Yamashirou again.

Unfortunately, it seems like Yuubari, Shigure requires level 50 for her third upgrade. Ack. That said, one of the quests require you to take Shigure anyway so...

Also RNG is definitely out to get me. I got two, you got it, TWO Mogami, while I was trying for battleships. And also still no Sendai.

Once it happens to me...

For Sendai, you can try your luck on light cruiser/shimakaze recipe. I get 2-3x sendai from that recipe.

Actually, Shigure must be lvl60 to be remodeled a second time.

This game's desire sensor works pretty well, I must say. All I want is Hiryu, and look at this

Hilariously, I managed to unlock both 2-2 and 2-3 in one go, while I was grinding Chitose for her second customization (where she gets the Type-As). RNG was smiling, as I didn't get damaged until I hit the boss node of 2-3.

Oh, and isn't 2-3 where you start getting Transport spawns?

It's 2-2. As long as you're not heading to the boss node, there are guarantee at least 2 or 3 transport ships.

And this is reminding me so much of Koei's Naval Ops/Warship Gunner games; I'm tempted to haul the PS2 out of storage and put some more stick time in on WG2...

Duo: Yeah, but I've found that you have to luck out on a north compass heading, and even then pray REAL HARD that the transport escort isn't a battleship. Oh, and I did finish the quest, but that was because the spawn I got was two torpedo cruisers and 4 transports, so I cleared it in one go.

Still need Sendai. RNG, why are you so cruel?
