by holding up the boss and let him/her die the next turn or else the boss gonna use a special that kill more than 2 of my guys. losing one was better than 2+. maybe having higher defense this time around can help not getting one-shoted by the bosses. or else....the same old tactic of picking up bosses, sacrificing my doods. Prinnies, Nekomata and Succubus. wow...not a lot of monsters usage for me either. maybe a dragon since i think you can mount them or something in this game. most of the monsters just dont look all that appealing. EDIT: forgot to add in the flying bat (forgot its name). i use it to move around in the item world since it has like the highest movement and can pass through enemies.

Haven't seen much difference in using monster characters for this game though. At least from what I've read last time I went to gamefaqs.

You can put a strong but low defence character on a high defence but weak damage monster. When you get hit the monster takes the damage and use its defense to mitigate harm. When you attack it is the rider's attack stat that matters.

What I wish is for the Prinny suicide bomb to be usable in late game.
A Prinny bomb is effectively sacrificing a character slot. I actually WANT to create a perfect prinny bomb, but to this day it doesn't seem worth it. Sad, as it is a very iconic aspect of the franchise and yet it has no late game use.

The main benefit of the Prinny bomb is that it generates unavoidable flat damage. In past games with defence stat being useless, it isn't that much of a benefit. But I can imagine an enemy in D2 with defence so high that a prinny bomb could be the trick to kill it.
