Hey, beach episode right away? About damn time.
Somehow, watching this suddenly reminded me of how much I loved the first season... and of how I'm glad that summer isn't all that far away anymore.

A beach episode? That's usually my least favorite type of episode, honestly, they're often kind of bland and they've become horribly overdone the past few years (I mean, beach episodes have been common enough in anime to be called a tradition since before I was born, but lately it seems like literally the majority of shows I watch have one), but I'm not really bothered in this case because the episode looks good to me based on that preview. The scenery around 17 seconds into the preview is really pretty, and the opening song is very nice as expected (I've liked both of the Baka Test openings a lot, the OVA opening probably moreso than the first season's), though I'm trying to avoid listening to it so that it will still feel new whenever Baka Test 2 starts.

Hopefully the premiere date will be announced soon - according to Countdown Anime, every known summer anime except four have had their release date confirmed. Maybe they're saving the best for last, since Baka Test is the best show of the summer season and all.

That's exactly what you want front & center in your publicity shots - Hideyoshi in a kimono (though a Chinese dress will work as well). Talk about a product that sells itself

Two things I want to be clear about in the second season:

1. What made Shouko so crazy about Yuuji? We know from the first season that Yuuji promised Shouko something, but he was just forced to do it so it is possible that he didn't mean it at all, but Shouko took it too seriously.

2. The mystery of the century: How come a straight-A student named Mizuki Himeji came to like the "idiot among idiots" named Akihisa Yoshii? Maybe because they were childhood friends but either party (IMO it's Akihisa) didn't care about it too much or forgot about since it was like 10 years ago since they last met?

About #2, well, okay, somebody bite me, but I think something like that happens IRL. I know a couple of classmates who are much in love even now. The girl was a straight-A, the boy isn't.

Character songs were already announced for the upcoming season. I like the rather nonstandard setup they have going.

First is a CD single featuring a duet from Minami and Himeji on their frustrations in this thing called love. The B-side is a song by Minami about trying to get rid of her flat chest. (A novelty song, I love those!)

The second CD is listed as an "Akihisa Harem CD", featuring him having duets with Himeji, Yuuji, Minami, Hazuki and Hideyoshi. Given how different his relationship is with each of those characters, I'm expecting good things.

Actually we need less of that. Or else the fujoshis will start packing into this thread to see Hideyoshi x Yoshi action.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Fujoshis want guy-looking-guys x guy-looking-guys. Hideyoshi is too girly to fit that.
