All I remember about Golgo 13 was the NES game which was one of the first video games to even so much as hint at sexual activity in a cutscene.

Well, he does get around, he basically had sex in at least every volume. He always seemed based on James Bond somewhat. (the old, meaner, Sean Connery Bond.)

actually golgo 13 is an assasin for hire at least in the movie I recently watched. He had sex at least with 3 women and 2 of them died.

Should be made by the team from Production I.G. who brought us the animated segment of Kill Bill (1).
Seriously, it needs a retro style, some fluent skribble like animations and TONS of blood. and gore (not to forget some sex).
I hope it don't get a standart threatment with a standart style.
Pic looks good though.

I would love for it to be done in that kill bill anime segment style, something edgy. Definitely gonna watch this when it comes out.

I remember Golgo 13 released on VHS by the label "Manga Video" in France. It was pretty graphic and sometimes over the top, as in, Golgo shooting a guy with a sniper rifle, through several windows of two buildings. And it was a headshot.

Not based on a game franchise.
Not done by GONZO, Sunrise, KyoAni, Production I.G., Madhouse, BONES.
Not Gundam or Haruhi or Lucky Star.
No young male or female cute protagonist. For that matter, this bloke is ugly.
Not based on a franchise that today's fans would know.
No trailer online to entice us.

I'd say that it will enjoy a long run before it gets licensed imo.

Uh, I dunno about you, but unless you're ultra hardcore, who also enjoys hentai games with a taste of loli anime designs, chances are the rest wouldn't give a shit about Lucky Star or anime based off eroge. I still reckon the non hardcore anime fans would prefer Anime like Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, Hellsing and Trigun over otaku material such as Lucky Star.

And every title on your list has a cute protagonist in it. Don't underestimate the marketing of cute protagonists to get the buyers interested in the title. Hellsing Ultimate even has comedy in SD mode interspersed with all the violence and 2 cute females to boot. Gundam 00 is enjoying the fruits of having cute guys in the series big time.

I don't think the cute SD characters were the main selling point to the anime I mentioned unfortunately, but hey each to their own, since it's certainly appealed to you!
