Completely late here, but...

(Maybe someone posted this already, so many posts...) If I remember, someone found on the game code some lines referring to a certain 'LIGHT' (character?) Ok, let's see se original game text for Doranoru's Wright, in the original text is ライト (ra-i-to), that is also the japanese reading for 'light' (Death Note anyone?). So, my obvious guess is that the new guy is from that other agency of Doranoru's organization, or whatever, and the girl is his helper. A new elite squad to hunt down Battler (the wizard), just like Doranoru first appeared to help Erika finish Beatrice... Really, was this already discussed here to death? (640 pages)

S/he looks like a combination of Jessica, (Beatrice?,) Shannon, Kanon, Krauss and Natsuhi by current notions. So it is Jessikraushkanonnatsutrice.
It was stated in red that because of Battler's sin a lot of people die on Rokkenjima. Everyone dies. No-one escapes. Doesn't necessarily mean everyone's death is because of Battler's sin, but many anyway. I'm under the impression that different variations of the pony theory (that is the one with <see you again> and the lot right?) is the most populat theory of Battler's sin nowadays. |

I still disagree. Why go through the trouble of identifying them as humans they are clearly not humans? After all Erika is the 18th person. It is impossible for Jessica to have a chest at the age of 12, Hello? Puberty. Six years is a long time. DIE THE DEATH
Shannon's ring does not exist. Gaap is a beyblade. Gohda is a magical chef. Kanon is colorblind. Natsuhi was raised by the Headache family. I am a uncreative idiot.

So unless this is some kind of obscure troll towards the code lurkers then a character by the name of "ライト" should be expected to appear in the story. the code also shows that "LIG"'s character TIPS are meant to appear among the magic characters.

Although, the fact of George's proposal to Shannon may be a huge hint to something. The presentation of the ring only helped confirmed the 'corpse' in EP1, but did it exactly do anything else? Maybe an alibi for the 'happy couple'? These thoughts on the 'fake love' makes me rethink on the relationships of all the family members. Maybe Kanon didn't even like Jessica (which is why he is so emo!) Maybe they all hate each other! Maybe Jessica is just an obsessive person!

I think most people agree that this new character is ライト.
Well, we know that the original 10 commandments of Knox do not exactly match what we have in Umineko. If Van Dine's 20 rules come into play it will probably not be without modification. Of course, this is all just speculation.

P.S. It is generally considered not a nice thing in this thread to use red when you are not quoting something that is already red in the original text.

There is probably at least one romance which is either fake or one-sided. Jessica's opinions on certain relationships could also simply be wrong, and the people she thinks are hooked up could be manipulating her into thinking that. For instance, if one (or both) of George or Shannon is just using it as a cover or distraction.
Of course, since it's kept largely secret in either case except from the cousins, and George and Shannon never really explain where they're going when they sneak off, that sort of charade doesn't appear very useful, unless it's to directly mislead the other person. If, for example, Shannon is stringing George along, letting him think what he wants to think about her, and securing his cooperation for whatever end, it becomes useful. Where it doesn't appear to help anyone is if they're both in on it, because then nobody knows or cares what they're doing anyway and they could just duck into an unused room for a minute to chat about their plans. And the Jessica/Kanon relationship barely ever comes up, though since it conspicuously comes up in Battler's presence, that one could be argued to be intentionally presented for Battler's notice. But something is definitely up with that stuff.

My personal theory - if the guy is Van Dine and there will be Dine rules, Bern will use them to modify the gameboard rather than place restrictions/guidelines on the mystery (which is what Knox did). A lot of Van Dine's rules were broken already, but if Bern wants to write up a harsh reality she'll modify the game to fit the Dine rules.

I think he's a member of a different, but similar division, or a superior within the same division that includes the Jungfrau.
Presumably, they served under Knox, then under Dlanor as his successor. Wright would then be like some kind of other division head of equal rank to Dlanor, or maybe one of her superiors. Dlanor isn't the top of the pyramid in Heaven, she makes that pretty clear, she just happens to have some subordinates.

You have all the reasons to. If the entirety of their love stories is fake, this is... well, it's close to turning the entire text into a blank piece of paper because of constantly repeating "without love it cannot be seen". Without love, there's precious little left to see.
But some misrepresentation of either love story is definitely not out of the question. Starting with Shannon's ring, which apparently suffers a Total Spontaneous Existence Failure the moment she gets hold of it, and ending with Kanon himself, who apparently has a similar problem with existing in the first place. No, he'll be Iron Man. Expect a powered armour suit hidden in a closet.
