Actually, speaking from a visual perspective, it's not really strange is say... loli Signum looks somewhat similar to Caro, of course with the hair and eyes difference. Speaking from a character designs perspective, while reasonably versatile, copy-pasta swapping of hair/etc can make some characters look reasonably alike.

Not that I am condoning an actual Caronum crack... just throwing some oil to fire.

I'd say it'd make for a good lulz if say Erio comes in and sees "Signum" and mistakes her for Caro.

Oh, another piece from me. It's severely incomplete, since within DestinyS story-context, it's supposed to be 2 episodes worth of flashback and not a narrative piece, but the general outline somewhat works like this.

Would like to get some opinion.

That was the final words of a man who chose death instead of eternity.

An eccentric person he might’ve been… but he was a famed man of philosophy whom rejected his rebirth of "F", despite achieving the status of royalty proving himself among the people, wielding the privileges of those whom life deserve to continue its existence for the sake of the world.

His reasons were simple. "I only reached this far because I have one life. I have reached the pinnacle of myself, and there is nothing more. There is no need for eternity."

In his final moments, he spoke of the ugliness of people.

He said that... was his vision of his future. He wants to leave before he sees himself, and others... in nothing but darkness.

Those were his last words of advice.

It was something we did not fathom. For the aeons that Alhazred and we Originals had existed, our world was a world of peace. Our people were one. There were no differences, no conflicts, no hatred. We were not without our imperfections, but each one of us lived not to exploit it.

If every world in existence started as a blank piece of paper... there was no black amidst everything else within our paper. It was not an exaggeration. It is the truth.

Coexistence between different organisms… existence of mutual respect from the highest, most mighty of wise dragons to the smallest creatures on the road. The hearts of people were connected via our Prophet; there were no sufferings, no need for disputes. Though classes of people exist distinguishing royalty… those who rule from the regular people, everyone with talent who had proven themselves to society can become royalty, and gain immortality. Even among the regular people, there were no hardships in life.

Our existence was mythical, like out of a fairy tale. But that was our reality.

Just as our own destruction is.

The day our world ended... when the Flames of Heaven turned to the Flames of Hell.

We were destroyed because we chose to believe in the good of men.

And then there was darkness.

A single world amidst the stars, like a crest of the stars.

It was the home to the greatest civilization known to men, the backdrop to every story of destruction that came upon through greed and desire beyond human limitations.

They were once called the “Origins”, though it itself is a name that had been lost through the passes of time.

It is more commonly referred to as…

‘Alhazred.’

A world of dreams. And the very symbol showing that dreams… are just dreams…

Or is it truly so?

Even today… we have not forgotten. The vivid memories that lie dormant within my soul throbs… waiting the day we could have our revenge, and return to our homeland… return to our time of peace.

The days when our children could live with a smile. The smiles of the children that marvelled before the night sky.

That one single ship that traverses the orbit of that world, between the moons of red and blue… The Ark that soared through the skies like heaven, trailing the lights behind it. It was the pride of Origins.

Often, they would’ve looked at the world before them… Alhazred, from the Ark, watching the world, resonating with the shines of the moon. It was beautiful… the sphere that was their world, with a faint phosphorescence beauty.

That was the world we knew.

The towers that touches the skies, the tall trees that represent the roots of our world, the branches of greens that cover our lands and the transparent glass-tints of passageways, the natural earthly formations that form sculptures of natural land… from the skyscrapers to the simplest of creations, there was something indescribable about it. An unfathomable hybrid world of unmatched technological prowess both scientifically and magically combined with lush greens that covered the worlds. It was like trees themselves assimilated into fine art of the silver forged from the cores of the earth, but vibrant source of life and the static form of art within one. Two moons of red and blue, radiance of beauty covered the sky in both night and day, though that of which they shone through the night like jewels in the sky. Every once in a while, people would see their symbolic structure, the Ark of Jewels floating...

It was… beautiful. Nothing else needed to be said.

There was a record of what a traveler of ancient times said of Alhazred.

"If a perfect world existed... this is it. But because there is not a shred of ugliness in this world, I don't think a world without imperfection can truly be 'beautiful.'"

A beauty that is so beautiful it is not. A paradoxical claim, but the truth shone in that traveler’s eyes. Legends said that that traveler stayed for 3 days... and was never seen again. How she came, how she left... no one knew.

She was said to be fond of the sky’s ship, of which she rode for a day, and saw the world from whence it looked…

The Ark of Jewels, to be known later as the Cradle of the Saint King. Though in times when it was known as a Lost Logia, it was tampered by Belkans into a war-machine. But in its original form and purpose... there was nothing about it that evoked a weapon. A golden ship of the skies, it was meant to be nothing more than a floating energy plant of which it drew from the infinite powers of the moons to create the equivalent of batteries for Alhazred... the Jewel Seed. Created in the billions, Jewel Seed was nothing more than a disposable power source for the Originals. Even though merely one seed could easily supply them enough for decades… even though a mere dozen have enough power to cause severe destruction in the fabric of space itself…

People who walked, rode or flew... each one of them, from those without magical powers to the royalties who wielded powers of the origins… they lived carrying such artifacts.

That was Alhazred.

Once, a foreign men appeared before our worlds. Injured, he floated amidst our orbits...

He said that he was a man from the world called Mid-childa.

To us, the visiting of outsiders were of extreme rarity. He was welcomed with grace, as the King himself personally visited the man.

He related to us the stories of his homeland, of how their worlds were suffering from post-war destruction. A tale of sadness, destruction… it was a tale that was foreign to us, the people who had never seen the edges of war.

Our people, out of compassion... gave that man, 2 Terra Systems.

Terra System... it was the development and project codename for one of our monumental scientific achievements for System T.E.R.R.A, aka Terra Engineering Restorative Response Actualize. The pinnacle of planetary engineering systems, it was essentially a core-transmutation system that utilizes the principle of negative topological soliton, formations of Lambda transitional phases of matter, which goes beyond the principal of energy-equivalence, allowing more energy to be purified and masses off the energy response systems, creating the necessary energy and calculations to restore any world within a year with just the amount of energy needed to power an entire planet’s countries for a year.

In matters of rudimentary magi-science and physics, it was something that broke alls laws of causality. And there he was… a lone man, given 2 systems that could change worlds… just like that. No further questions asked, no demands.

Because we believed only in the good of men.

When he departed... the entire Alhazred bid the lone man goodbye and best of wishes to the restoration of his world.

The King stood before him, with a smile… and a gesture of peace, offering a handshake. To the Origins, a handshake was not of their culture. It showed how much the Origins welcomed him. Without doubt, without emnity, his last words were simple.

“You are always welcome back here, friend. We wish the best for your worlds, as so one day… you too will be free from conflict.”

As their hands parted… the King felt a strange coldness on it. It was not the warmth of another’s palm, but rather a stricken cold of sweat that filled his.

But what was carved on that man's face, upon departure... was not a face of gratitude, of thankfulness.

It was of fear.

Looking back now, I suppose it was a fairly normal reaction. Our world is abnormal. You could even say that to normal people whom had seen both the darkness and light of people, our conduct without suspicion, without any thoughts of negativity were abnormal to them. Technological development and achievement... centuries... no probably even milleniums beyond what was called 'Interdimensional Space' achieved. Power-sources, energy cores... 10 of them enough to cause a dimensional distortion are used conventionally in our world, just like disposable batteries in the millions. Immortality... things thought to be impossible dreams were treated as normalcy.

We wielded in our hands the power that could be the beginning to everything. We were the top of everything. But we did not.

If one day... should they ever choose to invade other worlds, take up arms... no one would ever be able to stop them. That is probably what he thought.

Upon returning to Mid-childa, that man spoke of what he learned and presented System Terra to the original Council of the United Worlds, the earliest precursor to TSAB. It was essentially the same, but it was of several independent units rather than a single administrative force with different departments. Not much had changed, with the system of the TSAB which enforced a degree of self-administration… but there were a difference. I suppose none of it mattered.

It seemed the foolishness of humans knew no end. Even before that man could write up a proposal to launch a xenocidal attack on Alhazred... The Council too... had decided the same cource of action.

The destruction of Alhazred.

By converting Terra System into a terra-xenocide matter-phase distortion energy cannon to cause the collapse of the planet from a distance of 500,000 kilometers away, the optimum range for shooting and destroy Alhazred, without a single trace. Upon destruction, distort the dimensional stability and coordinates of the gateway to Alhazred with the 2nd Terra System which is located in the very center of the 2 moons of Mid-childa...to be directly in the core of Mid-childa.

That way, it would be impossible for any survivors of the xenocide to escape through conventional directive gateways, nor would it be possible for anyone to enter the realm of gods without first destroying Mid-childa.

That was the plan for Operation Stardust.

Their only justification…

“Your existence is a threat to all of the Interdimensional Worlds. Even if you are a peaceful race now, it cannot be ascertained that you will remain so in the decades, centuries to come. For the safety of the future of the worlds and the continued existence and peace of centrillions of people throughout the Worlds and in the future, the 70 billion people of Alhazred,.. Please accept death.”

That was enough for them to justify their xenocide of 70 billion innocent people.

Barrier Jacket:

As a Belkaranger, Mayura typically uses the team’s standard “Adventure” barrier jacket designed by Asagi, which she based on the Boukenger suit. While the Adventure form provides excellent all-around protection from physical and magic attacks up to AAA+, and handy utility features, Mayura also has two more alternative Barrier Jacket forms which are designed to better suit her needs as a close combat martial artist.

The first of these is the Roaring Dragon Form, which is based on the Haken Lee dueling uniform that is worn during official matches against other schools. Mayura’s uniform provides superior physical upper body protection, gives her arms better freedom and mobility essential in performing her various fist attacks, and the heavier boots provide improved damage in kicking. Also, Blast Impulse spells are automatically cast when Roaring Dragon Form is active, freeing Mayura to focus on her technique.

The second form is the Noble Eagle Form, designed for high-speed combat. Based on a short-skirted Chinese cheongsam, the lightweight barrier jacket improves Mayura’s agility and movement through the use of a passively active Sonic Drive spell, at the cost of severe penalties to defense.

Switching constantly between these three barrier jackets constantly is one of Mayura’s trademark tricks, and she can do so quickly at whim, giving her outstanding versatility in adapting to any situation.

Asagi’s influence though seems to have rubbed off Mayura, and like the former she sometimes like to show off her barrier jackets in long, flashy and stylistic transformation scenes, typically imitating the standard Gekiranger or Gaoranger sequences, with Mayura using her Acellular for the latter. She has also been known to perform the Gingaman sequence, using a bezelled watch as props.

And finally, Mayura has performed just about every known Kamen Rider henshin sequence known to man.

Skills and Abilities:

Mayura Labatt is officially ranked as a AA+ ground combat Knight, even though her magical rank is only ranked at B+, a magical aptitude much higher than Asagi’s. Despite this, Mayura relies even less on her magic than Asagi, using only her years of training in the martial arts to dispatch most enemies, including inorganic enemies.

Mayura’s greatest weapon is her body, built up, conditioned and toughened through years of intensive training from an early age. In line with her belief in balance, Mayura has conditioned her body to be both tough yet flexible, incredibly solid yet nimble, using a combination of aerobic martial arts and anaerobic training to strengthen her body and reflexes, and gymnastics to improve dexterity.

All these is a requirement for Mayura to perform her style of combat known as the “Gaoleon” style, a branch of the Haken Lee style that prides itself in its efficiency and lethality. This style is characterized by fast, calculated strikes that sheperd the enemy into the ideal position for the final killer strike, which more often than not completely debilitates the enemy.

(It is noted that this style is similar to Asagi’s stratagem in dueling – because Mayura taught her this principle in the first place).

The finishing strikes work on the basic martial arts principle of targeting one’s anatomical pressure points, but done so with a speed and ferocity that can disable all of a person’s functions in the space of a few well-placed strikes, usually in the blink of an eye. And Mayura’s dexterity allows her to achieve unusual positions and maneuvers that she can use to create or exploit an otherwise hidden opening in her opponent’s defense, performed with such elegance and grace that it appears like a choreographed dance routine.

Mayura though is not above using pure and direct brute force, especially against non-humanoid or mechanical opponents with no obvious weakspots or pressure points, in which case Mayura’s physical strength has proven itself time and time again to be more than adequate for the job, capable of lifting 150% of her own body weight without magical augmentation, and she can lift even more with Impulse Spells. In terms of power, her fists have been known to shatter bricks with little difficulty, and she has been known to knock out brutes twice her own size and weight with a single blow.

While Mayura specializes first and foremost in hand-to-hand combat, she tries to avoid relying too much on her fists and legs, and often trains in the use of various magical and non-magical martial arts weapons and devices. She prefers weapons that deal blunt-force damage, including knuckles, tonfas and quarterstaffs, though she is also knowledgeable in the use of claw weapons.

Like many close combat fighters, Mayura is lacking in ranged attacks, relying on speed, agility and surprise to bring ranged fighters to her element. Caught out in the open, Mayura is vulnerable to expertly placed stand-off bombardment from buster and shooting attacks.

Like Asagi, Mayura’s style of combat relies less on weapons and more on personal skill and power, though as a Knight Mayura seeks to utilize any and all advantages she may get to improve her style.

Gekichanger “Ran” -

While Mayura is not known for plagiarism of Asagi’s level, she still knows a good concept to rip when she sees one, and this stylized gauntlet’s design is taken directly from its TV counterpart. Another device created by Aurion Dauer as a request, the Gekichanger acts as Mayura’s primary intelligent Armed device, heavily strengthened and reinforced to withstand the harsh abuse of close combat. Its primary function is to control and maintain the various Impulse spells and Barrier Jacket modes that Mayura uses, freeing her to concentrate on combat and less on spell-casting. A special feature of the Gekichanger is its Recoil Return ability, a magical function that absorbs kinetic energy from the backlash of a punch and expends it outward. This not only reduces the physical recoil felt by Mayura during a punch, but it also increases the energy in her attack twofold, making her fists even deadlier than before.

As Mayura rarely relies on her magic the Gekichanger is not equipped with a cartridge system despite being classified as an Armed Device. She can summon up to two Gekichangers, one for each arm, and its storage form is that of a black and orange wristband on her right arm. Also, Mayura calls the female AI “Ran”, after GekiYellow’s real name in Gekiranger.

And no, Mayura’s Gekichanger does not summon Gekiwaza.

Super GekiClaw -



A surprise gift Mayura received from Asagi during her 19th birthday, the Super GekiClaw (or SG-Claw as Mayura calls it) is another Gekiranger-inspired device, based on the weapon of the same name. It is used in engagements where Mayura requires more magical power, and the SG-Claw is equipped with an 8-round pistol cartridge system to enhance her spell’s potency. The SG-Claw is stored inside the Gekichanger when not in use.

“Bo” -



A simple storage device in the form of a plain wooden quarterstaff, used when Mayura needs to outrange her enemies in melee. Mayura named it after the Japanese “Bo” staff.

Another storage device, this time a pair of black tonfas. Named after the first syllable in “tonfa”.

Survi-Buster (Mayura):



Standard equipment for the Belkarangers created by Aurion Dauer from Asagi’s requests, inspired by the weapon of the same name in the Super Sentai title GoGo Sentai Boukenger. Like in the show, the Survi-Buster is a pistol-like device that can transform into a sword called the Survi-Blade, and it is used by the Belkarangers when casting ranged spells. Each of the Belkaranger’s Survi-Busters are customized for their specific needs, and in Mayura’s case her Survi-Blade’s edges are blunt, allowing her to more effectively apply Blast Impulse spells when using it.

Straight out of Boukenger is the Belkarangers all-in-one multipurpose device, the Accelular. This signature cell-phone like device performs almost every function its original can in the show, including cellular phone communication, compass navigation and ultraviolet blacklight. It also has various scanners and sensors that give it incredible detection abilities, ranging from infrared detection to magic scanning.

While similar in many respects to the original, several changes and improvements have been made to the design, like the replacement of the main LCD display with a 3-D holographic screen and projector, and tougher materials and construction, allowing it to withstand the harsh rigors of field use. Also, the Belkaranger’s intelligent device AI’s can interface with each other through the Accelular’s computer. And like in the show, the GoGo Turbine is used in the mandatory transformation posing sequences (even though their base intelligent devices perform the actual transformation).

An unfathomable hybrid world of unmatched technological prowess both scientifically and magically combined with lush greens that covered the worlds. It was like trees themselves assimilated into fine art of the silver forged from the cores of the earth, but vibrant source of life and the static form of art within one. Two moons of red and blue, radiance of beauty covered the sky in both night and day, though that of which they shone through the night like jewels in the sky. Every once in a while, people would see their symbolic structure, the Ark of Jewels floating...

It was… beautiful. Nothing else needed to be said.

There was a record of what a traveler of ancient times said of Alhazred.

"If a perfect world existed... this is it. But because there is not a shred of ugliness in this world, I don't think a world without imperfection can truly be 'beautiful.'"

A beauty that is so beautiful it is not. A paradoxical claim, but the truth shone in that traveler’s eyes. Legends said that that traveler stayed for 3 days... and was never seen again. How she came, how she left... no one knew.

She was said to be fond of the sky’s ship, of which she rode for a day, and saw the world from whence it looked…

The Ark of Jewels, to be known later as the Cradle of the Saint King. Though in times when it was known as a Lost Logia, it was tampered by Belkans into a war-machine. But in its original form and purpose... there was nothing about it that evoked a weapon. A golden ship of the skies, it was meant to be nothing more than a floating energy plant of which it drew from the infinite powers of the moons to create the equivalent of batteries for Alhazred... the Jewel Seed. Created in the billions, Jewel Seed was nothing more than a disposable power source for the Originals. Even though merely one seed could easily supply them enough for decades… even though a mere dozen have enough power to cause severe destruction in the fabric of space itself…

People who walked, rode or flew... each one of them, from those without magical powers to the royalties who wielded powers of the origins… they lived carrying such artifacts.

That was Alhazred.

Once, a foreign men appeared before our worlds. Injured, he floated amidst our orbits...

He said that he was a man from the world called Mid-childa.

To us, the visiting of outsiders were of extreme rarity. He was welcomed with grace, as the King himself personally visited the man.

He related to us the stories of his homeland, of how their worlds were suffering from post-war destruction. A tale of sadness, destruction… it was a tale that was foreign to us, the people who had never seen the edges of war.

Our people, out of compassion... gave that man, 2 Terra Systems.

Terra System... it was the development and project codename for one of our monumental scientific achievements for System T.E.R.R.A, aka Terra Engineering Restorative Response Actualize. The pinnacle of planetary engineering systems, it was essentially a core-transmutation system that utilizes the principle of negative topological soliton, formations of Lambda transitional phases of matter, which goes beyond the principal of energy-equivalence, allowing more energy to be purified and masses off the energy response systems, creating the necessary energy and calculations to restore any world within a year with just the amount of energy needed to power an entire planet’s countries for a year.

In matters of rudimentary magi-science and physics, it was something that broke alls laws of causality. And there he was… a lone man, given 2 systems that could change worlds… just like that. No further questions asked, no demands.

Because we believed only in the good of men.

When he departed... the entire Alhazred bid the lone man goodbye and best of wishes to the restoration of his world.

The King stood before him, with a smile… and a gesture of peace, offering a handshake. To the Origins, a handshake was not of their culture. It showed how much the Origins welcomed him. Without doubt, without emnity, his last words were simple.

“You are always welcome back here, friend. We wish the best for your worlds, as so one day… you too will be free from conflict.”

As their hands parted… the King felt a strange coldness on it. It was not the warmth of another’s palm, but rather a stricken cold of sweat that filled his.

Looking back now, I suppose it was a fairly normal reaction. Our world is abnormal. You could even say that to normal people whom had seen both the darkness and light of people, our conduct without suspicion, without any thoughts of negativity were abnormal to them. Technological development and achievement... centuries... no probably even milleniums beyond what was called 'Interdimensional Space' achieved. Power-sources, energy cores... 10 of them enough to cause a dimensional distortion are used conventionally in our world, just like disposable batteries in the millions. Immortality... things thought to be impossible dreams were treated as normalcy.

We wielded in our hands the power that could be the beginning to everything. We were the top of everything. But we did not.

If one day... should they ever choose to invade other worlds, take up arms... no one would ever be able to stop them. That is probably what he thought.

Upon returning to Mid-childa, that man spoke of what he learned and presented System Terra to the original Council of the United Worlds, the earliest precursor to TSAB. It was essentially the same, but it was of several independent units rather than a single administrative force with different departments. Not much had changed, with the system of the TSAB which enforced a degree of self-administration… but there were a difference. I suppose none of it mattered.

It seemed the foolishness of humans knew no end. Even before that man could write up a proposal to launch a xenocidal attack on Alhazred... The Council too... had decided the same cource of action.

The destruction of Alhazred.

By converting Terra System into a terra-xenocide matter-phase distortion energy cannon to cause the collapse of the planet from a distance of 500,000 kilometers away, the optimum range for shooting and destroy Alhazred, without a single trace. Upon destruction, distort the dimensional stability and coordinates of the gateway to Alhazred with the 2nd Terra System which is located in the very center of the 2 moons of Mid-childa...to be directly in the core of Mid-childa.

That way, it would be impossible for any survivors of the xenocide to escape through conventional directive gateways, nor would it be possible for anyone to enter the realm of gods without first destroying Mid-childa.

That was the plan for Operation Stardust.

Their only justification…

“Your existence is a threat to all of the Interdimensional Worlds. Even if you are a peaceful race now, it cannot be ascertained that you will remain so in the decades, centuries to come. For the safety of the future of the worlds and the continued existence and peace of centrillions of people throughout the Worlds and in the future, the 70 billion people of Alhazred,.. Please accept death.”

That was enough for them to justify their xenocide of 70 billion innocent people.

While I like the general thought, I see two problems. The first being that Alhazarhed is said to have destroyed itself, while this can be worked around as 'a fabricated lie' the second problem can't, which is that -if I read this correctly- the time difference between this and the founding of the TAB is relatively short, while Al Hazarhed has been destroyed way back in the past, pre-Ancient Belka even.

Lancer, this one is tricky. Not counting OC's, Zest would seem the best choice in terms of weapons, Nanoha going in second. Personallity wise I'd say Vita.

Looking back now, I suppose it was a fairly normal reaction. Our world is abnormal. You could even say that to normal people whom had seen both the darkness and light of people, our conduct without suspicion, without any thoughts of negativity were abnormal to them. Technological development and achievement... centuries... no probably even milleniums beyond what was called 'Interdimensional Space' achieved. Power-sources, energy cores... 10 of them enough to cause a dimensional distortion are used conventionally in our world, just like disposable batteries in the millions. Immortality... things thought to be impossible dreams were treated as normalcy.

We wielded in our hands the power that could be the beginning to everything. We were the top of everything. But we did not.

If one day... should they ever choose to invade other worlds, take up arms... no one would ever be able to stop them. That is probably what he thought.

Upon returning to Mid-childa, that man spoke of what he learned and presented System Terra to the original Council of the United Worlds, the earliest precursor to TSAB. It was essentially the same, but it was of several independent units rather than a single administrative force with different departments. Not much had changed, with the system of the TSAB which enforced a degree of self-administration… but there were a difference. I suppose none of it mattered.

It seemed the foolishness of humans knew no end. Even before that man could write up a proposal to launch a xenocidal attack on Alhazred... The Council too... had decided the same cource of action.

The destruction of Alhazred.

By converting Terra System into a terra-xenocide matter-phase distortion energy cannon to cause the collapse of the planet from a distance of 500,000 kilometers away, the optimum range for shooting and destroy Alhazred, without a single trace. Upon destruction, distort the dimensional stability and coordinates of the gateway to Alhazred with the 2nd Terra System which is located in the very center of the 2 moons of Mid-childa...to be directly in the core of Mid-childa.

That way, it would be impossible for any survivors of the xenocide to escape through conventional directive gateways, nor would it be possible for anyone to enter the realm of gods without first destroying Mid-childa.

That was the plan for Operation Stardust.

Their only justification…

“Your existence is a threat to all of the Interdimensional Worlds. Even if you are a peaceful race now, it cannot be ascertained that you will remain so in the decades, centuries to come. For the safety of the future of the worlds and the continued existence and peace of centrillions of people throughout the Worlds and in the future, the 70 billion people of Alhazred,.. Please accept death.”

That was enough for them to justify their xenocide of 70 billion innocent people.

MAGIC + Real Armor = Vehicle Quality Protection


When you find a way around that logic that would make people pick funky costumes over their prefered armor of choice in a practical application, you be sure and let myself and the Test Force know. We're always looking for better ways of doing things.

Then there is the simple fact that this is a magical girl show, I would rather avoid this going too sci-fi. I can work with weapons that look like ordinary guns, cyborgs and spaceships, but I draw the line at power armor.

While I'm not sure about the feasibility of Powered Armour (for example, what is it powered by?), general regular armour of the metal plates variety may well have existed in the Nanoha-verse, the same as ours. We do know that they have physical shields.

As for why nobody uses it, probably for around the same sort of reasons nobody wears plate armour these days, as well as the anime tendency for Less Is More clothes-as-armour. I mean, I'm looking at Schach's Barrier Jacket and I'm wondering how practical it would be, much less Nanoha's Barrier Jacket. I mean, Subaru's Barrier Jacket exposes her belly, which would otherwise be a big SHOOT HERE sign.

We do have modern plate armor. It's just that to have it practical is mass intensive, bulky, and generally impractical to wear because of that weight and bulk making soldiers a sitting duck.

But we're working on it. And I like the results.

Slap a magic power system on there and you're good to go.

No. Chief has powered armor and nobody complained. The fact is we're all still wary about you, especially after that "Mecha suit that turns a C-rank into an A-rank and spams cartridges to make them fire S-rank spells." That's like taking a Civic engine, NOSing it up to maybe Integra levels, and expecting it to beat a Hemi. And frankly... to be honest, a lot of people were rubbed the wrong way with your rather arrogant entry into OC.

Funny, I was thinking of Red Eyes, which is essentially powered armor/mecha suit that turns the user/pilot into a human-sized mecha.

As has been mentioned before, with powered armor you get all sorts of issues. Consider MJOLNIR. It does everything you say above and more. It's got everything you want for powered armor. And unless you've been augmented to handle it, you strap it on and take a step and you'll kill yourself. Besides, the costs would be horrendus; it is cheaper to outfit 900 SPARTAN-IIIs with the less capable SPI than to outfit 30 SPARTAN-IIs with MJOLNIR Mk VI (in fact, Master Chief is the only SPARTAN with a full Mk VI set).

They're playing by anime rules, remember? Less armor/clothing has some sorta modifier; Toze quantified it for me a long time ago but I can't remember what it is. Besides, the title is Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Not Mobile Troopers Lyrical Nanoha. Not Mobile Suit Lyrical Nanoha. Not Mobile Soldier Lyrical Nanoha. MAGICAL GIRL.

Look, ATC, as much as possible, when writing fanfiction/doing creative works, it's generally a good idea to stay within the rules of the world you're writing in. I'm pretty sure Warhammer players would be very unhappy at you if you started introducing powered armor into Warhammer (40k is a different story, but from what I recall of talks with IG players, they aparently belive that t-shirts and flashlights are good enough for Cadians...) Powered armor is too much of a break with canon to be plausible - especially if you go flaunting it about. About the only reason Chief has his pass is because Kagerou and I emphasise Chief rather than his armor.

Also... I recall 2 weeks ago you were complaining about having to do a summary/outline of your fic ideas. 2 saturdays ago I sat down at my computer and in 3 hours hammered out a 3000-word timeline/detailed summary of the OFM's history. Last wednesday I hammered out another 3000-word post, this time an overview of the OFM.

I have just one thing to ask: if you don't want to put in the effort & time to write....Then what are you doing writing fanfiction?

Don't start that bull argument with me Goose. I've scaled the abilities back already like asked. I've got the project work slated for the big-assed-essay which I'm going to take time on. (Not hammer together in three hours. Which incidently, my use of only FOUR hours was called SLAPPED together.) I scrapped my biggest controversial idea... I'm doing my work.

Nobody had a beef with the fact that I keep REPEATEDLY mentioning it as powered armor, as an exoskeleton, as something weighing a whole lot with lots of metal. I even posted THIS image early on with nobody showing any real concern. Nobody... Not until I put up a vid that shows it looks like an armored football player robot. Up until this it was concerns about power levels when I was still sketchy on them and working on them.

Cannon arguments may be worth taking into account. But this time it's just Keroko having a beef with my choice of Aesthetics. A beef about it turning into massive numbers of mecha when I have already stated that the model is prototype. As in, one of a kind.

I think that an equally relevant question is: why do you want to include that into the story?

Personally, I don't care what you do for your story. Put in space battles, put in powered armour, put in giant mecha, whatever. I really don't care. What I do care about, however, is that you make it work.

Make it a fanfic. We're already at a disadvantage here, since we want to write a fanfic, but we're using original characters, or canon characters warped into original characters with little in common but the name. If you change even more things, then after a certain point (different for everyone, writer and reader), the question arises: why is this even set in the Nanoha-verse? Why would the average fan of the series want to read the story?

Make it plausible. For every bit of original invention I put into my story, I sit back and consider it from every angle. Why do I want to do this? "Because it's cool" is not a good enough answer. Everything has to have a reason in the story, and the reasons all have to tie together into a coherent whole. Everything gets the same treatment: do I really need that plot device in there for the sake of the story? If I took it out, what happens to the story?

Most of all, though, make it a good story. Even if you have a reason and it fits into the story, maybe it doesn't fit as well as you thought. That's why we're showing our works to each other: to gain feedback. Personally, I'd be ecstatic if someone were to go through my story with a fine-toothed comb and point out every single mistake I made. Because that requires a special kind of dedication which I struggle to achieve.

If you can answer all of those questions, then I have no problems with your motivations. I might have problems with the end results (after all, I have problems with how StrikerS went down), but that's a different matter.

It's sort of like a matter of trust: I, as a reader, trust that you'll be able to dish out a good story even after all my misgivings about it. Don't betray that trust.

(EDIT: This, incidentally, applies in general.)
