I always wondered about that principal guy. What kind of quirk would make him look like that, and whether it had any practical use. As it turns out, he's not even human, and it's his quirk that allows him to be more human-like (and beyond).

Heck the principal even took it easy on them as he says he actually did leave a path open for them. Still, all in all, if you aren't a great student, then you'll probably do poorly on tests. If these kids want to be heroes they can't simply rely on their strong points, they need to cover their weaknesses aswell. As pro heroes, they should always be prepared for a villain that might try to exploit their weak points. Heck one thing i feel like they could have even potentially tried; splitting up. Only one of them needs to make it to the exit. Team work is normally important, but their quirks don't really do well for supporting each other, especially in a situation like this, so maybe splitting up could have worked. Kaminari could focus on trying to go after the principal to keep him focused on him(if he can find him, he can take him down with electricity), while Mina uses her superior athleticism and maneuverability to work her way to the gate on her own; she'd probably be able to move faster without Kaminari. Splitting up would divide his focus and make it harder to keep both contained. Sure the principal should not be underestimated in this regard, but it might have been worth a shot.

It's "Vigilante" actually, and the protagonist does have a quirk. That said it's a good read - not on a level with Horikoshi's writing IMHO, but solidly on-point. And it's heading into a very interesting canon subplot right now.

So, all they needed to do to beat Thirteen was to let go; he obviously wasn't going to let the students get atomized. Oh well, the training was still useful and Aoyama did help in the end, so all is well.
And here I was afraid Mineta would mess up or make a fool out of himself, but by the end, I was giving a sincere thumbs up. I underestimated him, and the series as a whole. Finally we get to see what the principal is capable of, and it kinda caught me off guard, but in hindsight, its a pretty fitting power for someone in that position, and its certainly fun to see. It also amuses me how I was thinking about the possibility of non humans having quirks, yet I had been beaten to the punch all along. Now, to the main event! |

And so the final exam battles end, with a particularly brutal one at that. All Might's still not exactly a good teacher, considering all the damage the kids took in those exchanges. And whatever else, you gotta admit Bakugo's got tons of willpower to spare.
Although Deku being too in awe of All Might the whole time is a continuing problem too. Gran Torino told him it was holding him back, but its kind of hard to change quickly (and Deku's got to learn to stand on his own eventually). So just one episode left in this season? I'm really going to miss this show and I hope they have an announcement of when the next season will be (I think the first season ended like that?), but I don't mind a long wait with this level of quality animation. Not often we see Bakugo go all out (and its still not enough to really scratch All Might). |

This played out more or less the way I thought. It started out with Bakugo making some mistakes, but in the end he does whatever it takes to win. Defeating All Might was of course, never an option. But I liked Deku just being Deku at the end.
And in the end, if there's one thing Bakugo has in common with Deku, it's that he's willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal, including blowing up his own limbs. |

I really like the emotions poured into this episode. Bakugo's VA did a great job at protraying his character and I felt emotionally moved.
Ofc, he had trouble working with Deku with his personality. The action of those two in the end paid off and I have to admit, the momentum of the episode was done pretty well from start to finish. League of Villians....ah so excited to see more of them!

...*sign*...no matter what, I still can't like Bakugo's character
the way he says "...scum like you..." is quintessential of a bully, or corrupted high born nobles that look down on peasants Deku is not blameless, either. It's obvious that Bakugo never saw you as friend, yet you keep calling him "Kacchan" as if you guys were close , and you should know that it just pisses him off And finally All Might, yeah, a bad teacher in full effect there . Well at least he pushed those two to cooperate, so props to him

Yeah, All Might did act like a good teacher here. He used just enough force to overpower the kids and made them go beyond their limits, physically and mentally. Any more and he would have one shotted them (just look at what a single punch did to the city), and any less and the exam would have been pointless. He did get a bit too much into it in the end resulting in their injuries, but it actually shows how much he cares.
