The visuals were really weak in this one. Holy moly. It's 2018 and such an ugly animation is still produced. The japanese really need to make a revolution within the industry. The current model with underpaid and overworked animators will be their doom someday...
That said, i liked the fact the MC can use a "game menu" and do his actions as if he was in an actual DMMORPG like SAO. The difference here is that it seems he is in a different dimension/world like in Overlord and the protagonist became powerfull because he somehow inherited a broken version of the skills from the game he was working in real life. That shit needs nerf really hard..lol. It could be a nice take on the trap in a fantasy/gaming world theme but i smell just another excuse for the classic and overused harem and moe combo we see these days. Sure, we had Re:Zero and Konosuba that were able to innovate and twist this combo to a certain extent and making something actually memorable within it's limitations but as i always say, it's just a waste of potential since "isekai" can be so much more than this. Who knows, it's just the first episode and later might become a nice surprise like Youjo Senki or at least not be boring for the most part and able to entertain me even tho it's more of the same with nothing special happening like that Smartphone anime. |

Unfortunately, so far, the only hope around is Netflix's way of getting series produced with better quality.
With their conservative mindset, I doubt the Japanese anytime soon will come to learn from their internal issues. |

This is just too sad.
I mean where the main character works at, and sleeping in the company building at the end with among with his co-workers. And the fact that co-workers are not really his friends by the looks of it. im rather interested in his real life than his fantasy life he is going to have from now on without his co-workers. The question is if this kind of fantasy world experience will make him a better programmer, or learn about the other gamer's feelings. All the other programmers are mostly male just like the main character. And assuming five or more female main characters in the fantasy world, all females? Good for Satou that he already have more than enough Neuromods, and other useful loot items. |

The MC doesn’t sound like a 15 year old—his mind voice would have worked better, but whatever. The beast girls and and the purple haired one are briefly introduced. They wasted part of the episode by going into his impression on the food...I could have done without that—in fact I skipped it.
I like the main characters personality, he doesn’t seem overly dense. All in all my thoughts on the episode were hmmm, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. |

I find it very interesting that the anime portrays Sato(u/o) as a "eyes closed" character.
Also I am very glad that they don't skip the food scenes. It shows that it's a faithful adaption. Also the Japanese seem to be REALLY into that, at least among the novel-reading community, as I think more than half of the syousetsu novels have entire chapters describing food or cooking. It might not be very popular in the west though, but I have to give kudos to the producers of the anime to "dare" make the second episode an entire slice-of-life episode WITHOUT even any cliffhanger, but rather a "date flag".

Feels like the story is moving really slow....
Arisa spotted this week. The story doesn't interest me at all right now but I'm hoping they at least make the world setting memorable. So far, I have to say it's pretty underwhelming.

You know, all those characters who always have their eyes closed all the time, usually being characters who either hide their true nature or have some sort of big secret they hide - they are usually intelligent, easygoing and sometimes psychopathic. In this case it might be related to the poker face skill he obtained. In the second half of the episode he had his eyes closed almost the entire time.
I am glad that they finally decided to translate the messages, though I wish the first episode would be revised as well...

I'm not sure about translating "Mazoku" as "magical being", when he noted there was one of them in the city too. Mazoku can sometimes mean simply "magic being" but from what I've seen it more often refers to demonic entities. Of course, usually anime portrays "demonic entities" as basically misunderstood supermen with some unusual and maybe slightly frightening features. But then occasionally you get some that really do look and act like appropriate agents of Hell.

For someone who is supposedly be around thirty, this guy is disturbingly into teen kids. I just hope that's the line and he didn't help these lolis with ulterior motives.
That Iona knight was fine woman though, but I guess she is too old for Satoo...
