Nah, it was backwards actually, PIC made it worse because it reduce unit's inertial mass so much that it's possibly as heavy as the surrounding air, hence I equated I.S. to a blimp.

- Depends on the type of gun, ammo used, ETC. Most are not really silent, just reduced in sound. Most people who have never fired a real gun in their lives have no idea how LOUD they are. Silencers generally work best if it's in a loud area (like a battlefield or there's a lot of ambient noise), or if you want to give the illusion that you're further away than the bad guys think you are (why else put silencers on rifles?).

IMHO the quietest SMG is the MP5SD series, but that's because the silencer is part of the gun. And even then you can hear it go "TACK-TACK-TACK" loudly enough. It's not like you can go MGS/Splinter Cell on someone in real life. Also, most silenced weapons usually require subsonic ammunition--no point in silencing the shot when the bullet cracks the sound barrier (and depending on the quality of the silencer).

I think most legally owned silencers in the US are mainly purchased to reduce gunfire sounds to bearable levels--EG it won't let you sneak around, but at least you won't make a horrible racket when shooting for fun.

Being a guy from the military, I have seen and heard a silenced rifle being fired before. It's not quite silenced as people would think.

Given the user's proximity, you can even hear the gunshot from behind a wall.

The Minerva-105 (or simply “105”) is a non-Infinite Stratos (IS) unit. Rebuilt from what remains from the Minerva-RE and refined further with the combined combat data gathered from the predecessor unit.

Like its predecessor, the Minerva-105 doesn’t sport a central power core that manages the entirety of the unit. Re-using the multiple power source concept of the Minerva-RE, the 105 is also powered by a network of particle power generators. However unlike the previous unit, the 105’s generators are built into its chest and leg armors where, according to gathered combat data from the Minerva-RE, energy is frequently channeled to. As such, the 105’s primary thrusters are also built to the back of its shoulders and legs to ensure consistent operation efficiency.

The 105 retains the generator limiter system from the Minerva-RE. However, due to the reinforced armor design of the 105, the limiter has its maximum power generation limit increased.

Like the RE, the 105’s power supply and processor modules are separated along with an additional third, ambiguous module known as the Nuva system.

With the focus of refined, powerful weaponry, the 105’s arsenal is practically halved from that of its predecessor's:
- A single, variable-output, particle beam rifle with its own dedicated in-built particle power generator and an optical holographic scope for improved targeting accuracy. The rifle can also switch between two firing modes; full-auto and semi-auto. When not in used, the rifle is kept on a magnetic latch on the right side of the 105’s waist.
- A katana-type sword forged from the same materials used on the former Type-01 “Sen No Nami” buster sword (that was used by the Minerva-RE). In addition to the blade’s composite material which consists of carbon steel and titanium carbide is a special particle-dispersion mineral, giving the weapon a great degree of defense against particle beams.

Like its predecessor, the 105 does not have a Closed Form. Instead, its armor parts are mounted onto the pilot himself.

I was thinking which is better between two-barrel 18mm rifle or single 30mm cannon for Rito's replacement weapon. 127mm recoiles gun sure are overkill, but being a single shot weapon and having low ammo capacity made a lot of problems.

Thrown brick is FAR better than sound of full gunfire.

The sound also will not 'echo' if you're in a cramped room complexes, such as inside mafia HQ....

It may not be so amusing being a rebuilt unit and all but eeh, the concept and loadout will remain. If anything's going to change, it'll most probably be just the name.

Then again, there is a reason why I picked "105" in the first place.

Unless the bullet somehow weak enough to bounce without breaking a bone or two and traumatized internal organ in process, nope.

This is the principle of nonlethal bullet BTW, and they still kill people if hit the right spot at close range.
