Wow Stiyl, that had to of been Touma's easiest fight

Nice start of the novel, kinda sad that it seems to follow the events of the game given that I already spoiled myself reading the game thread, but it's still a nice read between the last NT novel and the next.

More interaction between Touma, Index and Mikoto is always good. And really, Styil, is obvious you just want an excuse to attack Touma Nice of Touma to show that even if Styil knows how to fight Touma now Touma also knows his tricks.

^Touma is just too far out of Stiyl's league now. He knows all of Stiyl's strengths and weaknesses and has far more experience then he did the first time they fought.

He poured his full weight into his tightly clenched right fist. In the follow through of the strike on the flame sword, his fist flew forcefully for the tall priest’s jaw.

But then…

The great noise and impact that Stiyl had been expecting did not come.

“…Why did you stop?”

“Is there really any reason for us to be fighting?” replied Kamijou immediately.

The fist that had stopped right in front of Stiyl’s face moved once more and lightly tapped Stiyl on the jaw.

That was ten times more humilliating and beautiful than I expected. Really Styil, you should know better by now.

How did Touma remember that Imagine Breaker was ineffective against Innocentius?
Didn't he only fought it before he lost his memories and never after.

I think the earlier volumes chalked it up to instinct or body memory. Like he can't remember specifics, but something inside tells him "Yeah, this one is trouble".

I'm guessing in Vol 6 where they planned the counter attack against Agnese's Forces they had to be discussing Innocentius.

well, in volume 7 is a plan to use the Inoccentius against the nuns crazy, but I think this does not explain very well, but just remember that in the volume 10 Stiyl attacks Touma with Innocentius during the fight against Oriana (although chronologically it also does not explain, but just wanted to say that)

Since he did not want to bother with answering her questions, Kamijou mentally pushed Komoe-sensei’s voice aside.

Kamijou Touma physically froze in place for a moment, but he finally squeezed the prepaid phone tightly in his right hand.

“That bastard!! Did he have me wait for his call in order to keep me from doing anything else!?”

Again, some people never learn.

Kamijou looked back through the room.

His gaze landed on the safe the size of a washing machine in the corner.

Since they could not look inside, they could not use Index’s perfect memory to “bring its contents out with them” in the form of a memory.

They would be left with no clue where the Gate of the Gods Come from the Heavens had fled to.

Kamijou wanted any information they could get that might help them pursue the cabal.

“No, Touma! You can’t carry something that big with you! If you get greedy, you won’t be able to escape the flames and smoke!!”

“I just have to get it out without carrying it with me.”

Kamijou grabbed the edge of the safe with both hands and tried to push it.

It was incredibly heavy, but it was not held in place with any kind of earthquake-resistant latch. Ignoring the damage he did to the floor, Kamijou moved the safe bit by bit as if dragging it.

He was not moving it toward the door.

He was headed for the window.

“Good. No one’s down below.”

“Touma, what are you doing!?”

“Dropping it from the window, of course!!"

This sounds more like something Slave would do, but I'm not complaining.

Also, it's great seeing Index being useful again.

“Can’t you tell? I’m placing a barrier here to build a temple.” Stiyl said as he worked. “Before we leave for Misawa Cram, who knows who will come here with a stupid reason and kidnap Index? Even if we can only do so much, we can feel a little more optimistic if we leave Innocentius here. If something happens, it can help her buy time to escape.”
Innocentius.
Though Kamijou lacked memories, his information database informed him that Innocentius was a humanoid, ultimate weapon consisting of 3000 Celsius flames with an automatic tracking ability. Its only weakness was—

He remembers information but he has no personal memories. So he knows that imagine breaker wouldn't destroy it but later in the scene I quoted it shows that he doesn't know he learned that information from fighting Stiyl
