- Is a transformable IS considered to be utilizing "Fold-Out Armor"?

A) you can go anywhere from 3000-7000K if I remember correctly... maybe hotter.

B) yes, according to zero and tyranid.

Though lab scale reactors are tame and only limited to fission. Around 500-1000K

fission breaks up molecular bonds that require a huge amount of energy to maintain. The process of breaking or forming these bonds generate a huge amount of energy in the form of heat and are called fission and fusion respectively.

Fusion generally requires a much higher temperature to achieve than fission. and much harder to achieve than fission.

Actually, fusion temperature requires millions degrees of starting ignition. And In controlled fusion, there's no temperature separation like in the star since there's no difference in density, so the temperature itself would be still, at least 1 million degrees and upward.

So you're saying anything short of the Sun or the Human Torch cannot start a fusion reaction? That's pretty hot... dang.

What of fission reaction? Does it require high temperatures to start the process as well?

No, all you need is enough critical mass.

Can such mechanism be fit into a rifle-type equipment? Granted the firepower is proportionate to the amount of colliding mass and the resulting energy.

Nah, you will need gun the size of small warship.

And even that, there's no guarantee you can fire a second shot, or the gun can survive at all.

The only alternative is launching the bomb itself similar to how you use RPG/Bazooka

It's used in my fic liberally, though offscreen. Guess what? It exist in real life, and some claims it was once used to destroy entire dock owned by USSR.

I don't know that season well.
