"Are you ready for our game, Lady Lambdadelta?" Beatrice chuckled as she poured a new cup of tea for her game partner.
"My pieces are set, Beatrice. Let's see what you can offer." The smaller witch sneered with confidence.
The Golden Witch smiled patiently and sat back, her pipe twirling elegantly between her fingers. "You'll see that I can entertain you better than Lady Bernkastel."
"This game is only snack before the real game. Show me what you got, Lady Beatrice," she smirked, adding more sugar into her hot tea.

[{10:00 pm]}
Battler jumped down of the boat as soon as he could, getting on his knees and practically kissing the ground.
"Oooh~ Firm ground! Finally!"
"Battler fall! Fall! Uu~ Uu~" Maria cried as she jumped after Battler.
"Maria! Don't jump off the boat like that!" Rosa chastised as she let Gohda handle her luggage.
"Come on now, Rosa-san. Kid's'll be kids." Hideyoshi laughed off the situation, much to Rosa's embarrassment. If there was anything that she hated, more than being a bad mother, was being embarrassed in front of her siblings and being corrected about how she educated Maria.
Eva hid her sneer behind her fan as she walked past Rosa. "Maybe if Maria had a father, she wouldn't be acting this way."
Rosa hung her head and ground her teeth together, trying hard to keep her cool and not strangle her older sister in anger. Out of all her siblings, she hated Eva the most, she always made fun of her, always took advantage of her, ever since they were children. And of course, being the eldest, Eva fancied herself superior to Rosa, and at every chance, made sure that Rosa never forgot who was the elder between them.
"Let's all head to the mansion now. You must all be tired and hungry from the long sail. Please, relax and enjoy yourselves." Gohda said in a professional voice, calming the situation.
[{12:00}]
The children were amazed at the wide variety of snacks and refreshments prepared as they waited for lunch. Maria got excited with the tiny pies, with tiny berries adorning the top and pink colored filling. Rosa forbid her from touching them, but instead she accepted some papaya slices with honey on top from Jessica.
George smiled at Shannon. He knew that she had made her best helping Kumasawa and Gohda prepare the refreshments, especially the tea.
Shortly after, Gohda ringed an elegant golden bell and called everyone to be seated for lunch. The only seats that were empty were Kinzo's and Krauss's. Krauss was trying to convince the old man to come down and see everyone, but Kinzo, stubborn man he was, insisted in having his own lunch in his room.
Kanon was there, hearing Krauss's yells from the other side of the door. Kinzo rubbed his wrinkled forehead and sighed.
"It's not that I don't want to....but what good would come from me going? If I had known, I would have never taken the gold from the witch. I would have never traded my family's happiness for financial success.....if I had only known...that I would never share a meal with my family....You understand right?" he addressed Kanon.
Kanon nodded. He didn't understand, but Genji had once told him that a white lie was better to tell an afflicted soul than the truth.
[{14:15}]
"Sheesh. That riddle is scary. Gouge and kill? Reminds me a bit of those Guinea Pig videos."
"Uu-! Not scary! Have happy ending in the Golden Land!" Maria cried, shoving her notebook into Battler's face, as if that would make him believe.
The kids had decided to spent the day at the beach while the adults talked about serious business. Shannon had packed some of the snacks that had been served before lunch and they were enjoying a small picnic at the beach side.
"Hmm, a little tea would have come in handy..." Jessica said as she took a small bite of a piece of millefeuille.
"U-umm....forgive me...I should've thought about it...." Shannon apologized, lowering her head.
"N-no, don't apologize! I was just commenting! Don't worry Shannon!" Jessica apologized. She was liked among the servants because she was not nasty or strict like the Master and the Mistress, Shannon herself was good friends with her.
"Don't worry Shannon. This was an unplanned trip, there was no way you could've planned for everything," George said, placing a hand on Shannon's shoulder.
Shannon looked up at him and smiled, blushing. Getting her cue, Jessica got up and went over to Maria and Battler, who were busy picking up rocks and throwing them back to the sea.
"Maria gets more rocks! Uu-!" Maria said and ran to were there a few more rocks, picking them up on her arms.
Jessica and Battler chuckled at her and Battler turned to look at the sea.
"Hey, Jessica, what do you think?"
"Hm? What do I think about what?"
"The inheritance and those things..."
"I don't really care. Those are things that only adults care about."
"Geroge-aniki is an adult."
"Yeah, but he's different. He understands that there are more important things than money and inheritance and the honorable name." Jessica said confidently.
Battler nodded and smiled. He and Jessica had similar sentiments about family, but sometimes Battler doubted the purity of those sentiments. Would they be corrupted once they turned of age and money because a priority? Would there be a fight between cousins, just as there was a fight between the siblings, later on? He hoped not.

"This is getting boring!" Lambdadelta cried, crumbs falling on her dress and she took another bite of her cookie.
Beatrice chuckled to herself and inhaled from her pipe. "Patience. The game is only beginning, and soon the pieces will begin moving."
"Sometimes I fear that you've already cheated and taken control of the middle of the game board." Lambda huffed.
"Why ever would you think that, Lady Lamdadelta?"
"Well, this is your chessboard."
[{14:30}]
The adults were tired of discussing the money. They were all quietly sitting in the living room, sipping some tea or water to calm the nerves.
"Thank you, Rosa-san." Natsuhi smiled at Rosa as she prepared a special tea for Natsuhi's headache.
"You're welcome, Natsuhi-san," she responded, smiling and offering the cup to Natsuhi.
Eva looked at them and continued to stir her silver spoon in her tea. She turned her head to look at the rest of the siblings. Rudolf and Kyrie were discussing something quietly, about Ange and Battler apparently, she'd heard their names whispered. Hideyoshi was discussing the tea with Gohda in a friendly manner, and Krauss was fuming in his place, the poor bottle of water suffering in his grip.
Eva smiled and took a sip of her tea. Krauss was stressed, and even if their plan to corner Krauss was full of flaws, he was considering it seriously and the main point of cornering Krauss that way was to put pressure and tension on him. No matter if they didn't get money with the original plan, first you had to tire out the opponent before delivering the punch.
Rudolf suddenly stood up and Eva excused herself to go after him.
"Not thinking of pulling out, are you, Rudolf?" She smirked playfully.
Rudolf glared and crossed his arms. "We all need money."
"That's not what I asked." Her tone was hard. Rudolf stayed quiet and looked away from her.
"The plan will be worthless...if Father decided to write a will in the end."
"But he won't. That old fart cares little about us and less about his vast fortune."
Rudolf looked surprised at Eva. He'd never think that she would disrespect their father in anyway.
"Eva!"
"What? It's not like you, or Krauss or Rosa don't think the same. You're just surprised that I have the courage to say it out loud."
Rudolf shook his head and turned to walk away from her. Eva had always been sly and cunning. He clearly remembered her cheats and lies, using him to make her bidding and when Rosa was born, she turned her cruelty to her. Rudolf had always felt sorry for Rosa, but he'd never had the courage to do anything. Why should he? He'd suffered and it was time for someone else to suffer like he had.
[{20:00]}
The faint pitter patter of the rain could be heard on the windows during dinner. Gohda went all out and made something even more grand than at lunch. Words of praise came from everyone's mouth and Goha soaked in the happiness of being admired.
After dinner, tea was served and Maria showed Battler her riddle book. "Wow, you're really good at riddles, Maria."
Maria grinned and puffed her chest. Rosa giggled softly behind her hand, Maria could be an absolute darling sometimes.
Slowly, the adults began excusing themselves as the night went on. Eva and Hideyoshi were first, next Rudolf, Kyrie, Nanjo and George excused themselves, Natsuhi excused herself for not being able to accompany them due to her headache and left for bed, Jessica followed after her and soon Krauss was left with the servants while Rosa, Maria and Battler continued playing with her riddle book.
Battler soon stood and claimed that he was tired and left the room. Soon after he left, so did Krauss and Eva came in. Noticing her, Rosa gently ushered maria to the other side of the room to keep playing by herself, she pouted but obeyed anyway.
"What do you want Eva?"
"Oh? Being disrespectful to your Nee-san now?"
The servants took the cue to leave while Maria remained obliviously playing with her riddle book. Eva took a seat next to Rosa, but Rosa slid away, sitting on the other side of the couch.
"Silly little Rosa, I'm not going to hurt you," she giggled cruelly.
"No. You've hurt me enough in our childhood..." Rosa said quietly.
"Listen you, I know something you all ignore and that might ruing our chances of getting any inheritance."
Rosa was listening intently now, unconsciously leaning closer to Eva. Eva leaned closer and whispered quiet words to Rosa. As Rosa listened, she suddenly gasped and jerked away.
"No! You're mad!"
"Quiet!" Eva hissed. "I'm not saying it's definite but I'll need someone's help if I do decide to go along it, and I've chosen you, Rosa."
Rosa bit her lip and looked down, dully noting that Maria had gone considerably quiet.
[{21:00]}
Krauss walked back to the room with Battler, surprised at seeing Rosa and Eva talking so close together.
"What's going on?"
Eva turned to him with a smile, "Just girl talk."
Just then, Jessica, George and Rudolf came in as well. "Well, you kids must be tired, why don't you go back to the guest house, the adults still have some things to discuss." Eva suggested with a smile.
The kids nodded and Battler went to get Maria to come with them.
"I'll stay a little longer," George said to them, a small blush dusting his cheeks. Jessica smiled and nodded, he probably wanted to stay behind to talk to Shannon.

"If you're no careful, Lady Lambdadelta, my pieces will quickly penetrate your defense."
Lambdadelta glared and stared back at the board. "Tch! There's an opening right there! I can see it!"
"Is it? Or is it a trap to lure you away from your defense?" Beatrice laughed delightfully.
Lambdadelt fumed and sat back, her tea already cold.
October 5
[{6:00}]
Kanon finished arranging his hat and check his pocket for the master key. Nodding, he set out to go wake the guests in the guest house.
The rain had let off and only a light drizzle remained. Kanon locked the door to the servant's room and quickly made his way to the garden, he'd get wet, but it was the quickest way to get to the guest house.
Passing through it, he suddenly notices something odd about the garden. Has the wind knocked down some flowers? Most probably, but it wasn't just that....
Kanon stopped and walked closer, his face suddenly growing pale at the sight. He hurried back to the house, ignoring the fact that his boots were wet and muddy and ran to Genji's room.
[{6:15}]
Jessica woke with a yawn and looked around her. She was in the guest house, and her cousin's were sleeping around her. Maria was curled up in her bed, cutely mumbling about whatever she was sleeping off.
Battler too was curled up, suddenly Jessica shuddered at the cold morning and noticed that George was missing.
"Hey....Battler." She got out of bed and went over to shake him gently, early a light grumbling and sleepy open eyes.
"Whut?"
"George is not here."
"Maybe he went for breakfast."
"Yeah, maybe....come on, let's go."
Battler grumbled but got up. They left Maria sleeping, thinking it would be better for her. Maybe they could just grab something and hurry up before she woke and noticed that she was alone.
The rain had stopped momentarily, but there was still some fog around as Battler and Jessica walked to the rose garden. Suddenly, they noticed the servants and the adults gathered around something in the rose garden.
"Hey, what's going on?" Jessica asked as she went over, and before somebody could stop her, her eyes fell upon the gruesome scene displayed among the roses.
Set in a circles, with their heads almost touching, six corpses laid with their stomachs open and their guts spilling out. The red blood, already clotting, fell against the crimson roses, staining them a darker red.
Jessica screamed and cried at the sight of her father's empty eyes staring back at her; the gentle George was there too, so was Kumasawa, Eva, Rosa and Kyrie.
All six of them made a sort of circle with their bodies, rigor mortis setting in quickly.
Battler's eyes widened and suddenly he jerked away, his body suddenly rejecting his own stomach acid and making his throat hurt and his eyes tear. Rudolf went over and patted his back softly, waiting for him to finish and let him wipe his mouth.
"We should move them from here. Hideyoshi, Gohda, Genji, help me with them. Shannon, Kanon, take Jessica and Battler inside."
Everyone nodded and went about to do what they were ordered to.
The disemboweled corpses were set in the living room and the two doors leading to it closed with the master keys. Nobody could go in and out of that room now. Nanjo had been woken and asked to give them an autopsy, but all Nanjo could do was pronounce them dead.
Hideyoshi wiped his eyes and straightened up to face the rest of his family and the servants. "I want to know who did it...."
The survivors looked at each other. Who could've done it? The kids? The adults? The servants?
Hideyoshi suddenly seemed to have an epiphany and lunged at Gohda, reaching for his neck. Rudolf, Nanjo and Genji threw themselves at Hideyoshi, trying to separate the two of them while Hideyoshi screamed.
"You!! It was you damned servants!! Only you could've done it!!"
The adults finally got Hideyoshi off of Gohda, but the tension was palpable in the air now.
[{8:00}]
In the end, they decided to barricade themselves in the guest house. They grabbed canned food from the kitchen in the main house and locked the door with the master key.
Maria had to be explained that now her mother was death, but she simply shrugged softly, "It's the first twilight of the witch. At the end of the ceremony, everyone will be revived," she cried happily, much to the distress of everyone else.
Rudolf suggested they all wait together in the living room of the guest room. Hideyoshi was sure that the culprit was among the servants, but the rest -except the servants- thought there had to be a 19th person in the island. Either way, if there was someone else, they could defend themselves by staying all together; if the culprit was among them, they could keep tabs on everyone and avoid being killed.
Natsuhi tried her best to console Jessica, she felt guilty that in some way, she felt a bit relieved that Krauss was dead. Her husband had only been a husband in name, for all she loved him, he never saw her as anymore than a borrowed womb, or the head of the servants. Jessica pulled away from her mother and ran upstairs in tears, she might've shunned her father, but Krauss was her father regardless. Kanon was sent after her, nobody could be alone right now.
Maria giggled darkly as she sat next to Battler and Natsuhi. "No use, Uu~ The ceremony is already underway. Soon the twilights will be completed and Beatrice will live again Hihihihi~"
Everyone was perturbed by Maria's words. Battler tried to distract Maria by making her show him more riddles, but the tension that had been with them since Hideyoshi attacked Gohda, turned heavier.
[{11:00}]
"Maybe a snack would do us good. None of us have had breakfast yet," Gohda suggested. The adults nodded and all the servants stood up to do their duty. Shannon climbed the stairs to tell Kanon and Jessica to come down to eat, but not a minute had passed when Shannon's scream was heard. Rudolf, Hideyoshi and Genji hurried upstairs to witness another horrible sight.
On her bed, as if asleep, lay Jessica, but to the keen observer, she was more than asleep.
The skin around her neck had reddened into a grotesque imitation of a necklace, her skin was pale and her eyes wide open. Kanon was on the floor at the edge of the bed, in the same state as Jessica. Nanjo was called upstairs and gave the verdict, death by strangling for both. In frustration, Rudolf kicked a nearby night-stand.
"Some one will have to tell Natsuhi..."
"I'll do it..." Hideyoshi offered, turning and walking out of the room to go downstairs, minutes later Natsuhi could be heard crying her eyes out. First her husband, now her daughter, Battler couldn't help but feel sorrow for her and yet he found it impossible to simply go ahead and offer any kind of consolation. Maria climbed on Battler's lap, she was probably tired.
Upstairs, Rudolf walked around the room were Jessica and Kanon had been murdered. A sheet had been placed over them, to save them the shame of having to look at the death bodies. He checked the windows of the room, both locked form inside.
"Shannon, when you came here was the door open or closed?"
"I-it was open..."
Rudolf stepped outside and stood right outside the door, looking at the hallway. On the right was the stairs going to the living room, and to the left were two other bedroom doors, and at the end, a window. Rudolf walked to the window, followed closely by Genji. He opened the window and the wind and rain slapped his face immediately.
"The floor was dry before I opened it..." Rudolf said to himself and Genji nodded. Rudolf sighed, "We better go downstairs, at least we know that it's not one of us who's doing the killings," he said as he walked to the stairs. Genji looked out the window for a second, noticing how terrible the weather had become since they came to the guest house.
[{12:00}]
A different kind of tension could be felt in the guest house. Maria had fallen asleep in Battler's lap, Natsuhi had wiped her eyes but she was still sniffling from time to time, no one blamed her though; Hideyoshi too had lost his spouse and child just hours before.
The small breakfast that had been prepared tasted bitter, even with tea, and one had eaten more than a couple of bites. Gohda was disappointed and sadly he picked up the left over and dirty dishes to take them to the kitchen.
Only the sound of the clock ticking was heard in the living room.
A sudden realization suddenly hit everyone and the men suddenly stood up, running to the kitchen.
"W-what's going on?" Battler asked, confused.
Gohda had gone to the kitchen, alone. And almost like clockwork, there he was, slumped over the kitchen counter, his throat slit open. Shannon came in and gasped loudly, covering her mouth with her hands.
"G-gohda-san!"
The murder weapon had been bluntly left behind on the kitchen counter, the knife used to slit Gohda's throat.
"Sh-shannon! Go to the shed and bring the hatchets there. We don't know what we're dealing with but we might as well arm ourselves!" Rudolf told her. Shannon nodded and hurried out, trying to push away from her mind the image of Gohda's blood dripping to the floor of his beloved kitchen.
Hideyoshi frowned, why hadn't Rudolf suggested that first.
Nanjo moved closer to the body and checked the wound closely. "Dead, obviously..."
The four men sighed and looked around, there were two doors here, the door that went to the living room and another door had went directly from the kitchen to outside. But had the killer come in or out from there, he would've left evidence by letting in the rain and so far the floor was clean, with the exception of Gohda's blood.
"This is useless..." Rudolf muttered to himself as Hideyoshi gave an angry cry and stomped to the living room.
"It was you wasn't it!?" He pointed an accusing finger at Natsuhi.
"W-what?"
"You! You are hiding the killer! You're his accomplice!"
"What are you talking about Hideyoshi-san!"
"Hideyoshi! Calm yourself! This is no time to be pointing fingers at anyone!"
"It was her Rudolf! It has to be her! This is her house! Her servants! She married into the family but she can still inherit!"
"Silence! All of you!" Genji's normally calm voice suddenly boomed throughout the room.
"....where's Shannon?"
[{12:15]}
The shears when right through Shannon's stomach cleanly. By what could be seen from the window, Shannon had struggled because many objects had fallen down, and Shannon lay among them, a pool of blood beginning to form under her.
"Guess it's no use to open the door...."
Shannon had closed the door behind herself, closing herself in with the killer. And yet, the door had remained closed....
"We shouldn't stay here. It's obvious the killer has the upper hand over us..." Rudolf said, standing in the rain along with Genji, Hideyoshi and Nanjo.
"What do you suggest then? That we go back to the mansion?" Nanjo asked.
"Yes. I don't know but we'll probably be safer there."
Hideyoshi shook his head. He disagreed but the fact was that four people had been killed right in front of their nose in the guest house, maybe the killer had expected them to come here instead of stay at the mansion.
They gathered up the food and made their way from house to house, not minding the rain anymore. Maria had woken up and Natsuhi shushed her angrily before she even started her rant about Beatrice's Epitaph, they'd heard enough of that and they didn't need Maria to give them a creepy reminded that according to the words in gold, no one would survive. Maria, however, insisted that was he true good end.
At this moment, 10 people had been killed and 8 people were alive.
"Wait, we should pick up the servant's keys, just to make sure," Hideyoshi suggested once they settled in the kitchen. Each servant had his own key, but they had forgotten to pick up the key from each servant as they died. That would mean they would have to open up the rooms were they had been left to rot and retrieve said keys. Battler offered to go pick up the keys with Genji and Nanjo while everyone else stayed behind, he'd done very little and that, in a way, hurt his pride as a man.
Armed with a few kitchen knives, the three went to open up the living room were the six of the first twilight had been left. No five minutes later, Battler hurried back, gasping for breath.
"D-dad!! T-the corpses! They're not there!"
Rudolf and Hideyoshi stood up and ran to the living room where Nanjo and Genji awaited. Just as Battler had said, the six corpses were gone, leaving behind only the white sheets they had been covered in. Hideyoshi gave an anguished cry and fell to his knees.
"This is torture!! He's playing with us!" He cried. The other men could do nothing to console him, how had the corpses disappeared? And with the door closed?
[{2:00]}
For their safety, Battler and Maria had been locked up in one of the rooms in the first floor. Rudolf had made sure that the window was closed before taking Genji's key to lock the door. They'd retrieved Shannon's, Kanon's and Gohda's key, but Kumasawa's key was nowhere to be found. Along with Genji's key, that made four keys out of five accounted for.
Rudolf went back to the kitchen and sat down, handing Genji his key.
"This is not the witch's doing like Maria says. These murders have to have been done by a person," Rudolf said, looking at everyone. Natsuhi hung her head, Hideyoshi looked suspiciously at everyone while Nanjo and Genji stood uncomfortably.
"Well...what should we do now?" Natsuhi asked. They couldn't just stay there like sitting ducks, but what else was there to do other than wait for the storm to pass and wait for the boat to arrive? Chase down the murdered? It was easier to be come the hunted than the hunter.
Rudolf sighed and took a sip of the tea Genji had prepared for everyone. First the first six, then Kanon and Jessica, then Gohda and then Shannon. It was such a mystery in Rudolf's mind. The one that tickled him more was Kanon's and Jessica and Gohda's. He didn't bother with Shannon's closed room murder because we wasn't such a good thinker as Kyrie...
Kanon and Jessica had made no sound when they were killed and the killer had left no evidence that he had been there. Maybe, Kanon and Jessica had killed each other? No, impossible: it wouldn't explain the position they were in. Maybe one of them was an accomplice...it would make sense, the killer could be let in, between the two they kill Jessica or Kanon and finally the killer kills the one left. Well, that explained it. And it could also leave open the option that the killer had hidden and killed Gohda.
But then how had he escaped from the crime scene?
Rudolf closed his eyes, slowly and unknowingly, falling asleep.
[{4:00}]
Hideyoshi grunted and opened his eyes groggily. He sat up and looked around, only Natsuhi was there.
"Natsuhi-san...wake up, Natsuhi-san..."
Natsuhi had her head craddled in her arms. Making a soft sound, Natsuhi moved and slowly woke up. "W-what?"
"Natsuhi-san, where's Rudolf? And Genji and Nanjo?" Natsuhi sat up and looked around, noticing too that it was only the two of them. "Did we fall asleep?" she asked slowly.
Hideyoshi got up and a putrid smell suddenly reached his nose. "Ugh...what's that smell?"
Natsuhi sniffed at the air and made a subtle face of distaste, "It's coming from the boiler room..."
Ignoring that there was no one else around, both of them went down to the boiler room. The four master keys had been left with them conveniently. Natsuhi resisted the urge to gag when they opened the door to the boiler room. Stepping in, both Hideyoshi and Natsuhi had to cover their mouths and walked further inside.
"It's from here...." Hideyoshi opened the door to one of the boilers and Natsuhi let out a little scream. Inside, there was a corpse charred black and there was no way to confirm the body inside. Natsuhi took steps back, unwilling to believe the horrible image displayed in front her. Suddenly she bumped her foot against something, turning around, she let out another scream. Right there, hiding in the shadows, was Doctor Nanjo's body, his face completely smashed in. There was no way to identify his body either except for the clothes he was wearing.
Natsuhi fell to her knees and began crying, out of horror and disbelieve. This couldn't be happening, her whole family, the servants....it definitely had to be a witch!
Hideyoshi reached next to Nanjo's body and retrieved something from the floor. It was a picture, of Battler looking back at whoever was behind the camera. On the corner, the current date was displayed with green numbers.
"What's that?" Natsuhi asked through her tears. Hideyoshi didn't answer and instead he rushed to the room where the kids had been locked up. He opened the door hurriedly but the kids weren't there.
"Hideyoshi-san! The kids!"
"They're not here!"
"Then...." Natsuhi looked at the picture, she'd brought it with her without clearly looking at it, she'd just followed after Hideyoshi. Her eyes widened a bit when she realized something. "The place in the picture....this is the chapel! The might be there!"
"...but....the date could be wrong...." Hideyoshi wanted to doubt the authenticity of the picture.
"But this it our only clue, Hideyoshi-san!" Natsuhi said as she ran out to the chapel. The rain was still falling hard and the wind wiped her hair into her face mercilessly. Just as she arrived at the chapel, she remembered that Hideyoshi had all the master keys with himself.
"Natsuhi-san!" Hideyoshi came running after her, huffing. He took out the keys and opened the door, slamming it open.
"Maria! Battler!"
A trail of blood from the door to the altar was smudged on the carpet, ending with Battler's body, a gaping hole in his forehead as blood pooled behind his head. A shotgun was held firmly in his hand and his eyes were wide open, as if staring into the depictions of heaven in the chapel's sealing.
Natsuhi had already run out of tears to shed, so she stayed quiet. A hum suddenly reached both her and Hideyoshi's ears. On one of the benches, swinging her feet, was Maria.
"Maria-chan!!"
"Ah? Natsuhi-obasan! Hideyoshi-jisan!" Maria cried happily, not at all perturbed by the scene before her. Natsuhi ran over and checked her, she seemed to be alright, without any wounds or blood on her.
"Maria, what happened here? Who let you in? Who did this?"
Maria blinked innocently at Natsuhi, cocking her head a bit to the side.
"Beatrice did it."
Natsuhi hung her head and hugged Maria tightly. So it had been....it had really been a witch...
Suddenly, Natsuhi felt her body being manhandled and a powerful force wrapping around her neck. She sputtered and looked up at Hideyoshi, his face contorted with rage...
"You....you did this! You killed everyone!! You and Maria and Rosa did thiiiiis!!"
He tightened his hands around Natsuhi's neck even more. Natsuhi struggled to breath and clawed against Hideyoshi's arms; she tried begging for help but Maria just kept calm and humming her little song. Soon, the world began turning black for Natsuhi and she felt strangely at peace.
'Please.....let me see Jessica and Krauss again.....please....Beatrice....'
When the seagulls cry, none will survive.
TEA PARTY
"So? Did you enjoy our little game, Lady Lambdadelta?" Beatrice asked from behind her cup of tea.
The smaller witch pouted more and huffed. "I demand a rematch!"
"Sorry, no can do. You win or you lose. Once you open the box, the cat is either alive or dead."
Lambda let out a screech and stood, knocking the board game and all the pieces to the floor.
"You're just getting to know me, Beatriiiiice!!"
Beatrice giggled softly as Lambdadelta retired from the room, stomping her feet.
"I guess I was a little too hard on her, but thanks for the interesting game board.....Lady Laplace...."

* There are seven main mysteries in this game: the first twilight, Jessica/Kanon murder, Shannon's murder, Gohda's murder, the boiler room murder, Battler's murder and the disappeared people. The human side must correctly state the murdered/accomplice and method of murder for each one.
* The human side has to resolve six(6) of the seven(7) mysteries to win.
* You may state the murderer+accomplice(s) after resolving the mysteries, but you cannot win without correctly discovering who the murdered was.
* The end date for the game is still the 27th
* Randomly, or at request (though it may be refused), Laplace's Demon will start a Mystery Mini-game. if correctly solved, the winner may ask for a wish, such as clues, reconstruction of a scene, description of surrounding, etc.
* Unless stated otherwise, players can ask for recitals in red, which may or may not be refused for whatever reason. Request already recited are posted in the first page, so if you're doubtful, check it, the witch doesn't like to repeat herself many times.

Thing is, my heavy schedule during weekdays will probably make it impossible to post, but I wanna make it up in weekends.
If this is okay with your rules, then I'd love to join in the fun too~
@Jan-Poo, thanks for joining
@alarmadadna, sure you can still join, the time limit is two weeks (unless someone solves it), I could stretch it out a bit more anyway.
I've started the game, if you'd like to join you still can, just make a post saying you'd like to join, otherwise you can't post theories or request recitals.
Uhm there are too may holes to make a definitive theory, more informations are needed.
One thing that everyone overlooked is that the five masters key might not be the only mean to close and open the doors
say it in red:
-Only the five master keys can open/close the doors (involved in the crimes) of the house the guesthose and the chapel.
-There are no duplicates of the five master keys
-The doors involved in the crimes cannot be lockpicked
-The doors involved in the crimes are perfecyly normal doors without any device (other than the visible lock) that could open or close them. this includes any kind of autolock and remote lock.
Should even one of the above sentence be false the closed rooms could be explained
So far the most probable culprit is Kinzo whose wereabouts were competely overlooked. A clarification about the people that where present in the living room of the guest house at the time of Jessica and Kanon deaths is needed. Who was there? Can all of those people provide each other an alibi for the aforementioned crime?
Can they completely rule out the posibility that another person snook inside the guesthouse and killed Jessica and Kanon without them noticing?
-Only the five master keys can open/close the doors of the house, the guest house and chapel.
-There are no duplicates of the five master keys
-The doors of the house, the guest house, chapel and shed cannot be lockedpicked.
-The doors involved in the crime are perfectly normal doors without any devices (other than the visible lock) that could open or close them. This includes any kind of autolock or remote lock.
-The people that were in the living room after Jessica and Kanon left are: Natsuhi, Battler, Maria, Rudolf, Shannon, Gohda, Nanjo and Genji.
Uhm then just to remove any chance of defying the locked rooms
Say in red:
- There is no way to lock the windows from outside the rooms, this include any kind of automatic devices.
- There are no hidden/secret passages in the closed rooms. The only way for a human to enter and leave them is through the doors and windows that are clearly visible.
Quote:
-The people that were in the living room after Jessica and Kanon left are: Natsuhi, Battler, Maria, Rudolf, Shannon, Gohda, Nanjo and Genji.
-There are no hidden or secret passages in the closed rooms. The only way to come in and out is through the visible doors or windows.
-There is no autolock device on the windows, on both the second and first floor.
Ah, good call, sorry I missed that one.
-Hideyoshi was also in the living room after Jessica and Kanon left.
And just to add a little more....
-The gun in Battler's hand is a Winchester Model 1895 rifle.
I'm allowed to ask you to repeat in red what i want? (of course not somethin like random names and saying he is the culprit)...if thats the case
I'll start with the basics facts...who is dead and who isn't
Repeat it in red:
- Maria, Hideyoshi, Genji, Rudolph and Kinzo survived
- Natsuhi was killed by Hideyoshi
- Nanjo was killed in the time of 2:00 till 4:00 on the 5th October
- Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, Rosa, Eva, Kanon, Jessica, George, Battler, Krauss and Kyrie are dead
- Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, Rosa, Eva, Kanon, Jessica, George, Battler, Krauss and Kyrie are dead
-Nanjo was killed between 2:00 and 4:00 of October 5th
-Natsuhi was killed by Hideyoshi
-Maria, Hideyoshi, Genji, Rudolph and Kinzo survived.
- Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, Rosa, Eva, Kanon, Jessica, George, Battler, Krauss and Kyrie are dead
-Nanjo was killed between 2:00 and 4:00 of October 5th
-Natsuhi was killed by Hideyoshi
-Maria, Hideyoshi, Genji, Rudolph and Kinzo survived.
clever! XD
anyway i might nitpick here, but you only said
Quote:
-The people that were in the living room after Jessica and Kanon left are: Natsuhi, Battler, Maria, Rudolf, Shannon, Gohda, Nanjo and Genji.
And hideyoshi too. Can you also say in red that none of them includng Hideyoshi left the living room before Shannon was sent to call for Jessica?
If any of them left the living room for whatever reason (let's say toilet related problems) that person could have killed Jessica and Kanon. The culprit could be in possession of chloroform, and he might have used that to put the two asleep.
Let's say jessica was already asleep, the culprit neared Kanon who wasn't suspecting anything, then Kanon was forcefully put asleep with chlorofom. Then the culprit proceeded to kill Jessica, after that he killed Kanon. All of this could have been done swiftly, quickly and without causing any ruckus.
-Natsuhi, Battler, Maria, Rudolf, Hideyoshi, Shannon, Gohda, Nanjo and Genji never left the living room after Jessica and Kanon left.
-After Gohda suggested they eat the only ones that left the room were Shannon, Genji and Gohda.
-Genji and Gohda went to the kitchen after Gohda suggested they eat and stayed there until they heard Shannon scream.
Then what if Shannon is the one that killed Jessica and Kanon? She could have walked in the room and killed them quickly taking advantage of the fact one of them or both were sleeping, then she rushed down saying that they were like that when she entered.
Shannon death was stated in red, however the time of death is not clear.
say in red:
- Shannon body never left the shed after it was found by rudolf
My guess is Shannon faked her death there, of course she didn't work alone she had an accomplice or rather she was an accomplice, but after the mission was completed the true mastermind killed her.
