Your 2nd smoke layer differs so much at the end of the cigarette, making it a bit unrealistic.. Just a suggestion

Sig could have been executed a bit more nicely by increasing the lighting (or actually add lighting) and adding depth, because the signature looks like it's on a wet yellow piece of paper.. (flatness). The smoke animation was totally unnessessary for the sake of quality in the sig.

Yet another animated sig that wasn't worth animating. The background could have been made a bit more smooth, for the C4D has been color burned - like saturation levels are off - and is very distracting when the signature is looked as a whole.

So what do you think I shall use for the contest? This one of Nightmare or my current sig of Falco?

Yes.. You can even use a planet with clouds and its still accepted

Yeah I still have to tweak it. Probably just change the opacity on the second layer and straighten the line more.

Not sure on the lighting. The wet yellow piece of paper look is intentional, but I could probably create some depth by adding a slight gradient around parts of the render.

The animation is because KiNA requested it. I agree on the quality dip but I knew it was coming (hence the sacrifice in animation frames for max image quality with gif).

Thanks. The text is blurry, I have to fix it.

I'll have version twos up later, with some tweaks to both static and animated versions.

Made 2 versions so far:


^ old version with reduced file size


^ new version with a slower and cylced loop

Any ideas which one to choose and to improve it if needed?

Definitely the first one, the second looks strange since it only has 2 frames. I somehow had to think on a blinker xD

I think thath the animation here adds 'something extra' to the sig, and if you compare this one and not animated one you won't see a big quality loss
but I do not understand the second part of your post: what's distracting?

As for you sig Eps~ the second one has a really good quality, which I think is needed in this type of sigs, but maybe you could animate it more smoothly as ift were the sparkles around it, only shining, not moving ^^'
