Personally I think it morphs a victim's skill to best fit the said victims's personality, but that's just me.

No idea if this is correct but it seems like Medaka was in love with Zenkichi before and he basically dumped her. This was back when they were children and she offerred to be his wife (in the Japanese childhood sweet heart sort of way).

Ironically if it turns out true it's probably the reason why she didn't consider marrying him before.

If true I can see him originally turning her down because of some kind of inferiority complex he may have had towards her.

It was stated he probably forgot, but it seemed to have hit Medaka pretty hard since she stated it to be her first and last love. Also this was pretty directly after they met as in he hadn't even given his name to her yet, so I'm not actually sure it was because of an inferiority complex. He pretty much gave his name to her, she proposed and stating she would only marry him and he said it was impossible.

Wouldn't it be funny if the reason why Zen has memory loss from around that time was because he refused Medaka and she went into War God Mode for the first time from being hearbroken and somehow injured him?

But anyways, Medaka was too intelligent as a child for her own good, taking things normal kids her age said so seriously (like the reason to live or in this case, big impact from rejection...from a 2 year old she didn't know).
She was what we call around here, as a smart dumb girl. She was quite intelligent but still naive and uneducated in social ways (as was demonstrated often).

It's doubtful that they were overpowered...meaning it was most likely some trick the suitors employed using the competition's rules (as Ajimu stated, the rules can actually put her at a big disadvantage if done right)

My bet...they are probably chilling somewhere being useless until the time comes for them to show up again and demonstrate their GM abilities.
