New Cutie Honey series announced for 2018.

Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga will get a new anime titled Cutie Honey Universe in 2018. Akitoshi Yokoyama (Photo Kano) is directing the anime at Production Reed. Natsuko Takahashi (Urahara, Yuyushiki) is handling series composition and Syūichi Iseki is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.

Probably not. Sentai and Crunchyroll's agreement seems to have dissolved. My best guesses are the stream will either come through HIDIVE or Amazon.

ok, basically a perv, very very perv sort of "magical girls/sailor moon", with a villian having a "harem of lesbian monster girls" to be used as the "week enemie" and also disguised as a good guy sometimes".

The mc girl is... what you must expectat for this serie and the plot is well basically a lot of ecchi, almost naked girls some "bondage" and lot of yuri .

Yeah japan good job, now all we need is a season of hentai kamen" to make it look perfect

Well, that must be a good omen then!

So yeah, I'm going into this with extra low expectations and will probably stick around a bit for the fanservice or something. I will also try not to connect this anime to the franchise and watch it as a cheap knockoff, just in case.
Nothing particular to say about the first episode. Bad Natsuko composition as usual?

Oh, and if you can show nipples in the endcard, you can do it in the actual episode too, right?

The interesting thing about Cutie Honey is that if I'm not wrong this is the first manga made with a female protagonist and questions about lesbianism have been raised. its value is more for nostalgia and source of study.

Enjoyable ride. This first episode might not be newbie-friendly as it throws you right into the action without any explanations of who or what Honey is and what she's fighting, but I bet it was intentional. Artwise, this is actually pretty close to the sensibilities of the original manga and the 70s show and it's actually pretty well-animated.

In other forums, you may find some fans who are angry and jumped the gun by saying that this episode is terrible, hideous, plain bad or a shame to the franchise. Some even insta-dropped the show just because Universe doesn't use the original & iconic OP song. Those are total exaggeration and overreaction IMO. And I'm speaking as someone who is pretty familiar with the franchise and I like Shin Cutey Honey the most which is really different from Universe but you won't see me despising this episode. It has some great potential and I like to see where it goes from here.

That BDSM student-punishment though. Also, lesbian teachers having mad sex in a bush, LOOOOL. Cutie Honey never disappoints me in terms of its strangeness and madness in every iteration .
