They only made about seventy gazillions hints about a third season, didn't they? Who knows whether it will happen?

Yeah, they did. It doesn't look like this season is going to make much of a splash on blu-ray, so I'd keep my expectations modest.

Season one only sold 8,500 DVDs according to the DVD sales thread. Moyashimon's manga sales are quite impressive though. Volume 11 sold over 135,000 normal copies last March along with another 75,000 "limited edition" copies as well.

As someone who has been waiting to see a Dennou Coil or Mononoke release in R1 for half-a-dozen years now, I'm used to keeping my expectations under control! I've given up entirely on Nodame.

There is no way it will follow Nodame's model. Nodame fit in perfectly so that they got everything in from the anime. Moyashimon's anime is still far behind the manga, which is still continuing and doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon.

I mean literally a full season alone can be made about

I liked the first season better, but I still hope they make a third season....

I guess I missed something by not watching all of the first season. I did make it through this one, and enjoyed it, up to a point. But I ended up not caring much about any of the characters, unfortunately.
