Let's just quietly steer this thread back on topic before it turns into a gay-hate discussion.

Yes. anyways.

Does anyone know when the whole "Traps" thing began? 1980's? 1990's?

Hmm shouldn't most women be blokeaphobic too then. As I bet when most guys are chatting a bird up they minds aren't thinking about taking them clothes shopping etc

Most of the gay blokes I've met lead a much more healthy life style then the average bloke (who isn't hen pecked). They are far more concious about their physical appearance and that leads to a healthy diet and good exercise. This is of course just an average based on the ones I have met.

Hmm even though people have started claiming it is a 4chan thing, I've heard it used ages ago. When that EV tranny singer came out (or was called out) I heard a bunch of IT illiterate builders using it.

A bit off topic quote from 3 pages ago but I believe the peace sign is often used as "V' for "Victory" in Japan.

And as far as I'm concerned from all the gay people I know. Their lifestyles really ain't that much different, they don't always end up has hairdressers or interior designers. >.>

[They even play WoW, proven fact]

Again, I'm not trying to steer this toward gay-discussion again, but a lot of people are gay and you probably aren't even aware of it. One of my mom's oldest friends, and he became my friend some years back as well, is gay, and I HAD NO IDEA. Not until my mom told me just recently. One of my cousins apparently, is gay, but he's still family and I like hanging out with him (though he lives in NYC now). My point is that gays as people are generally not different that you or me; it's not their fault that the gays that do get a lot of attention are the ones that form the "fruity" stereotype. Okay, I'm done talking about this now.

Quick question: Why is it called a "trap" in the first place? I haven't made the connection yet... and how is it different from anime traps?

I guess it like this:

You see this he which pretends to be she. You go flirting on "it".

6 months later you have sex and you find out its a he so you think like:
"Shit! I've been trapped!"

6 months wasted.

Okay, I think I'll steer us back on topic with a few pictures of a J-rock artist that I like who is really great at cross-dressing. Meet Mana =D:

Spoiler for Mana:

Not all guys/gays are able to be female-wannabe like those in the pictures, albeit there are quite a few of them...

Traps =/ Gays though.

A "trap" could just be a straight but effeminate guy with a penchant for practical jokes or just crossdressing in general.

Besides, practical jokes are always fun. It's probably very entertaining to dupe a homophobe like that and watch the exaggerated horror, there are few things more amusing than making fun of bigotry after all...

Also, while guys wouldn't usually admit it on their lives, I suspect many would actually be pretty happy if somebody else say that they're so beautiful they could pass as a girl.

Whenever I mention 'Gays' to a girl they always reply the same statment, and I quote.

"Yeah, they're good at shopping though." Haha.

Heh, when i first stumbled over this thread, i knew what a trap was, but...the ones i've seen haven't been quite as good crossdressers as the ones posted in this thread.

So i often quote Luke Skywalker in Star Wars 5 when i browse this thread:

"NO, THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE"

If I were to ever fall for a trap then I would quote Sin City and do the actions to go with it. "I took away his weapons......Both of them"
