Chitose didn't get a nosebleed = WOW...!! What a "character development"..

BTW, does anyone notices that cooking teacher was being voiced by Satomi Arai..?

It was always going to be a tough act to follow, but Yuruyuri was more about consistency than being exceptional. That being said, there just seems to be a lot of empty space this episode which reminds me of the weaker s2 episodes at the start. Even Kyouko's lack of energy just really shows this off and I didn't really find anything particularly funny. Well Akarin's bit at the end wasn't bad.

And people who said that usually takes other people's opinion too seriously. With the change in studio and key staffs the comparison is bound to happen anyway.

That said both studios has its pros and cons. The first two seasons is better at comedic timing and over-the-top reactions from characters which is similar to Nichijou, while OVA and this season is better at setting up the relaxing overall pace and atmosphere with some funny moments which is more similar to Non Non Biyori. Would you believe me if I say this new direction is actually closer to the feeling I got from reading the manga?

S1 and S2: Full-on gag comedy
OVA, S3, and Manga: Slice-of-life comedy

It's unfortunate that new studio decided to drop some gags which has long become this series' icon like the Akkari~n intro and character song eye catches. On the brighter side, I believe that this new season will spending more time on flashing out characters and developing their relationships than its predecessors instead of just exploiting them for gags/drama/shock fators.

About this episode, if there is one thing I learned form it is that if you remove "nosebleed" from "Chitose", then she'll ended up having even less presence than Akari.

As for the first episode: I can see why people dislike it, but overall, it seemed fine to me. Had quite some good laughs at the King Game (especially when Chinatsu turned out to have the worst luck of all, and Akari being too nice to be a proper King), and I somehow knew the little girl at the end would turn out to be related to one of the characters. Poor Akari, trying to act all mature, and failing so hard at it...

It was quite a heartwarming sight to see Sakurako and Himawari care so much for each other. Their wavelength is a bt off though... "boobs"

Aside from Ayano, Akane probably stole the show this time with her not-so-conventional hobby.

Also new revelation, Akane runs faster than a bus! But takes literally an eternity to finish... no, eat... .no, nibble away at one cookie.

Well well, it'd seem that new anime team is taking the path I'm expecting them to and focuses more on developing characters and their relationships. Till date, that must have been one of the longest datelike moment between Kyouko and Ayano. Ayano has come a long way from back in s1. Sakurako x Himawari moment is just as great.

Kumo = Cloud = Spider LMAO Man that was brilliant.

Last but not least, Akane just presented us a new internet meme: Social Sucide.

P.S. *grasp* OMG Chitose is absent for the whole episode! I even failed to notice it till it's already over. I told you she has no presence without the nosebleed.

She's lost too many bloods in spectacular fashion, and it's extremely gory enough for TV..

Wow, Ayano managed to have a normal conversation with Toshino Kyouko. This is a big step forward.

Close call for Akane, although I think that even if Akari discovered the dakimakura, she wouldn't think much of it.

i felt sorry for all the Arachnophobia people which is further worsen with Yui's misunderstanding of Cloud & Spider being almost pronounced the same way, complete with her imagine spot of Akari riding a giant spider on the streets...... wait that Spider Riders anime?

has any lily date ever been so close to the level that is happening between Ayano & Kyouko right now? i wonder if Chitose would still noseleed to death in the background if she were ever to appear at the park as well

Akane sure has balls to even try to dry out her already questionable looking dakimakura of her own little sister out in the open, what if the neighbors managed to saw that, assuming the drying area was hidden from plain sight, the part where she forgot to take off Akari's panties on her head as she walks outside....... a suicide indeed

i wonder if Akari would look good if she manages to retain her long hair from when she was younger, also after all those seasons & ova's, still wondering what Yui's character arch-type would fall into, cool beauty? tall dark bishoujo? assuming Yui was the tallest of the middle schooler cast, i don't know their height charts by the way.
