I like the manga and the anime in different ways (though I like the anime more). The manga never really seems serious or something, which seems weird considering it's more straight forward than the anime.

I'm totally preferring the manga. Sou as an assasin of sorts makes for a much more interesting character! I liked her a lot more, having encountered her in the manga. I think she was kind of sidestepped in the anime.

I don't see why people say that Souseiseki wasn't really in the anime enough, I mean Traumend focuses on her a lot, and her character shows particulary regarding her views on the need to kill her sisters for a greater good, seeing Rozen.

I don't think it's that she's not present....it's just that she comes across as a very flat character. In the anime, she seems to have only her blind devotion to the Alice Game and little else going on. She feels more like a commentary on relegious zealots than an actual character.

I suppose, really looking at it...the themes aren't so dissimilar in the manga and the anime. Perhaps it's just the all out brawl between the two sisters that I really love in the manga....

Maybe because the english version is readily available and super cheap at any bookstore? I think downloading something you're supposedly a fan of that you can support with shelling out a measly 10$ is just low....sorry.

I have to agree with that also. If you really like the anime, why not support it? the author and sketchers spends alot of time writing the story and drawing the characters. For me, if I like the anime and I watch it already, I would not mind buying the legit copy.

Currently I like RM, so I wont mind buying all the volumes (up to vol.4 i believe) which I have now. But, believe me its worth the value if you really enjoy RM and besides, is a different story which makes you wonder *what will happen next!?* since is different than the plot of the anime

Oh yes, by the way...does anyone know when will vol.5 be released? or..has it been released already? I believe someone posted earlier...around april-june-ish?

At first I bought the manga volumes because I wanted to see/experience the art from which one of my favourite animes was sourced (pretty much the same with Mushishi); just to get the original medium, you know? And like you say, it is interesting to see the alternate progression, since as we know the anime only loosely follows the manga. It feels a bit weird at times; "wait, didn't that happen earlier/later?" etc. but that aside, it's good fun.

Just got the first 3 volumes of the rozen maiden manga.

In volume 3 suigintou is named "Suiguintoh"....yet in the first 2 she is correctly spelled "Suigintou".

In volume 2, suiseiseki calls her spirit by saying "Sweet Dream". What the heck? When did "Amethyst Dream" become "Sweat Dream"?

Why is "Holie" translated as "Hollier" when there is no "er" in the pronouncitation?

Volume 1 also had a funny mistake...Prologue part 1 was written as Prologue part 2.

Where is my "Desu" and "Nano"?! *cries*.

Plot is really different from the anime. Surprised me there a bit.

I like the texture of the paper used...it feels...i dont know...very nice. The drawings are pretty impressive. Its not standard anime style drawing...its like theres a different touch to it. Interesting.

English Adaptation is done by different person in volume 3, so perhaps this is the reason for changes (they didn't bother to read the previous books? I remember similar thing happened in Negima! manga).

"Suigintoh" is just alternate way to transliterate "Suigintou". Personally, I prefer the latter.

But I agree, it is interesting how the story is different from anime, or more accurately it is the anime which is different compared to the manga.

In case anyone was waiting for it, volume 4 of Tokyopop's version of the manga is out now.

Geh, the infrequent release dates are killing me...
