Despite knowing of her fate, seeing it happen still gave me quite the blow.
Thank goodness I still had My Hero Academia to see, it helped get over it.

And now, waiting for Part3, on July. Why such difference between Part1&2?

This is the first that I've seen so much blood. Those guardians were really convenient after all.
At least they weren't subject to the sort of damage seen in Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan. That would have been too much to bear.

The circle is now complete. With Washio Chapter's third and final act in the books, it's a bit of a wait now for the Hero Chapter in fall.

Question - now that the TV version of these movies (and with it Season 2) has officially started, does this thread get moved to the General series? Or should we make a new one?

At the time of this post the first episode of the second season is available on Anime Strike in the US. As a bonus, Amazon also has the original Yuki Yuna TV series for people who haven't seen it yet.

I was looking for a proper discussion about the new season. I'm kinda surprised it's only 4 page long... :/

Maybe because this first half of the second series was simply TV Run of the Sumi Washio Chapter Movie Trilogy that ran on japanese theatres these last few months.
Next week is when the new stuff (for those who've seen said movies) is gonna begin.

There wasn't much discussion about the movies either. I guess this show doesn't have much of a fanbase here in Animesuki. Although, leaving the thread in this subforum might have something to do with it too. I think it would have had more visibility had the mods moved it to the tv anime subforum.

I for one haven't been paying too much attention since I saw the movies some months ago. I'm actually eager to see everyone's opinion of the sequel half of the season.

I've attempted to make a thread for it in the upcoming series section but it's been quiet as well, not sure how to get it moved to the current season section.

A shame since discussion was rather lively when the first season was airing

Movie 1--that was a thing

Movie 2--75% WTF am I watching xD and 25% one of the most violent scenes I've ever seen from anything ever in a long time

Movie 3--I really did not want to know mankai could let you lose your heart and still be alive. And I nearly lost it when Sonoko reassured Mimori at the end even after Wasshi lost her memory. And then Yuuna at the end...oh boy...

This question has to be asked too:

Mimori or Wasshio?

Wasshi is better, of course. She's not a nutcase who tried to destroy the world like Mimori.

Even though Mimori is more aesthetically pleasing

I think the world is doing a fine job destroying itself, no need to worry about that.

Actually, that brings up an interesting question - Wasshi never actually got to see outside the wall. Would she react differently from Mimori if she did?

I'd say yes, but the thought would still be there in the back her mind.

Of course she would react differently. She has Gin's sacrifice fresh in her mind (which Mimori didn't remember). Gin died protecting them and her family. Sumi would never disrespect her actions no matter the reason. On top of that Sumi loves her adoptive family and would never do anything to put them in danger either.

Mimori was too fucked up in the head. Kinda understandable considering she was a cripple with memory lost, but still....
