Yes, the bear thing... Sapporo and bears are a bad combo for anime.
The whole A-part was shrill and awful, almost bad enough to make me bail. But the B-part was much better. Nothing great, but at least it's a show about adults with adult problems.

I liked the bear! But then, I love radio and I love audio drama. I'm a regular listener to the Doctor Who audio dramas that the "classic" Doctors still make with Big Finish Productions. So maybe it's just my thing.
Everyone said I should watch Shirobako, and it just didn't connect. This show does. I hope that holds up. |

I am totally sold on this one after the first episode, sure the whole bear thing was a bit 'what the heck' (although a better animated bear than Golden Kamuy had) though once it became clear it was just a framing device I was on board.
Also, I really love to have shows which are about working grown-ups rather than yet more high-school shenanigans, so that's a big plus. |

The premise of this radio is Minare in scripted situations while she's also offering relationship advice in her own special way? She's practically a voice actor offering life counseling .
Dang, from the trailer I honestly thought she'd fight a bear. I'm not unconvinced that isn't how it'd go in reality . Man, her ex is the absolute worst. Lying about his dad dying and swindling her out of money. No wonder she wants him dead . So going from drunkenly complaining about your failed relationship to getting your own radio talk show! Although isn't it illegal to record someone and broadcast their words against their will? Although maybe she was drunk enough that Mato got her to agree to it

When a show makes you remember a show from years ago and that you should watch it instead (Hataraki Man in this case) and that thought never leaves your head, not a good thing. Pity. Premise seemed interesting.

I have no idea why, but i totally see the beginning of "Gyaru and Dinosaur" happening, with the drunken gal being the main character in this...
I have no idea why i like this, but i like it a lot! maybe because of the over-imagination being shown all the time, but after the 2nd episode, i'm hooked! |

I knew Hiroaki Samura can be funny (I thought Halcyon Lunch was purely ROFL), but it’s always a pleasant surprise when you encounter him in another comedic form. Bradherly’s Coach this ain’t! I think any interactions Minare has with others is gold, and the little bits and pieces we see on the motivations of the other characters, it’s quite telling that there’s more than meets the eye. I’m hooked!

Yeah, I'm pretty close to hooked too. A workplace comedy about adult problems written by an adult is a good base to build on, but after a rough start the execution here is really solid. All of these characters come off like real people with actual personalities and motivations.
