It is more of a symbol than anything else, it really doesn’t have to do with character similarities (Luffy and shanks have different personalities) , rather is like Roger bet on shanks as someone that was going to continue his legacy, while Shanks wants Luffy to continue Rogers legacy.

I can see this hat to have even a more deeper meaning than just a hat that was in roger possession. Right now it doesn’t add up too much on Luffy's parallels with Roger, but we have to wait and see if there is a more deep meaning to this straw-hat inheritance, who knows maybe it has to do will of D, and Maybe Shanks himself is a D.....


Btw, I was reading pass episodes, it is a given that Buggy is a Sichibukai?

Caribou's devil fruit intrigues me as well. It's some kind of liquid-like substance logia. There's not many possible substances I can think of that he could be. Guess we'll probably see next chapter.

Wouldn't be too surprised, because Shanks had the hat, so it's perfectly normal to have had the fruit as well.

On to the chapter: bad guys leave me indifferent for the most part, the Kuma talk was pretty much all I cared to see. Not that underwater battle with special coating rules is bad, I'm just a lot more into the story right now.

I considered this as well, but since Magellan's DF was a paramecia, I figured some kind of toxic logia fruit wasn't too far-fetched of a hypothesis.

One Piece is back! What a great chapter, probably the best since Marineford ended. Caribou is shaping up to be quite interesting, and I can't help but chuckle whenevr I see Coribou's lizard hair.
