The animation looks phenomenal, but no surprise there .

I also quite like the opening .

So it seems like the enemies in this series, the Kill-T-Gang, can transform from their human form into their own psuedo-Mecha form.

Sure wish I could be naive enough to get excited for this. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's actually substantively good and not just good looking.

It's a science-fiction mecha series though so, one odd character design aside, I'm still excited.
Came for _____, leaving satisfied.

Added to watch list, for now.

Honesty it look like another these "foreign invasion which disrupted a normal high schooler's life which led to him finding a super-prototype mecha and drive off the invasion with a lot of emo screaming throughout the series" mecha type anime. Well Nobunaga the Fool is boring and Buddy Complex isn't satisfying the void left by Valvrave, I'll see if this can captivate my attention.

At least one of the main girl is a long hair and that a good thing so far. (Blackish hair for extra bonus for me)

How old are they again? The body of that other young girl is rather fascinating. I'm genuinely interested.

The brown girl with tanned skin also looks fine. A bit too generous for my tastes though.

The orange girl has a boomerang... is she supposed to be Australian ?

We're seeing a few pieces of promotional art with Daiji wielding a gun... so I wonder how much of the conflict with the Kill-T-Gang will involve Mecha fights, and how much could be normal fighting on the ground?

Those swimsuit scans .

Based on the premiere, Captain Earth appears to be an illegitimate child conceived by the copulation of Star Driver and Eureka Seven. It borrows the camp from the former and the serious undertones from the latter.

First episode is extremely obscure especially if you're watching a mecha show for the first time but it isn't so alien to those who've watched both shows that it borrows heavily from. Captain Earth presumes that the viewer's would understand and keep apace with what's it up to and just in case they don't, it banks on its high production values, which it vividly and confidently shows off in a long mecha deployment sequence that's almost as good as Evangelion's complex mecha sorties.

At this point I rarely ever balk at obtuse premieres put out by mecha shows (Bones is the main culprit) and this one's no different especially because an experienced viewer can put together enough pieces of the puzzle to make at least some sense of what's happening.

When Earth's under attack by crazy individuals dressed in wacky avant garde garb, our hero, Daichi, who wanders into what appears to be an abandoned derelict building and is clearly as lost as we are, suddenly decides to sortie in an unknown mecha without being encouraged because he just assumes the Earth is in danger (when he's shown visions by a loli who he just met) and for some reason feels it's up to him to stop it.

So yeah, the show also demands you leave your credulity at the doorstep and just accept whatever it's doing is right and blindly believe there's deep meaning behind its actions. Whatever the case, if nothing else I'm in it for the mecha porn because I've starving for a long time for a really really good looking mecha show.

If the first episode's any clue then its obvious that the show's gonna repeatedly flout logic whenever it suits its needs.

Why is Ed from Cowboy Bebop in the next episode preview?

The serious elements and the super robot elements clash a bit, but overall I enjoyed the first episode.

Feels like this is going to be a pretty fun series. Seems like they just wanted to do something that felt awesome and did so. Enough information to figure out mostly what's going on, but still be able to get Daichi in that mech and ready for the first big fight starting next episode.
