He didn’t asked for it, but you can see how he wished for a lot more power to defeat Shikoutazer, with the encouragement and his dead friends and Tyrant providing him with the necessary power, and Tatsumi paid it with his life in the end after fighting Shikoutazer. You can watch the scene again. It's practically the same thing: Tatsumi wanted more power, Tyrant granted it. It's that simple.

None of that nonsense happened in the anime.

I'm not referring to the adaptability. I'm talking about the hints leading up to the evolution which the anime lacks or omits.

Anime Incursio got a plot evolution while the Manga Incursio didn't.

But 1 thing caught my interest a bit, Akame wants to stop Esdeath to prevent her from killing Tatsumi. The story reach this point and out of nowhere you pull a Akame developing feelings for Tatsumi thing. O_o

Obviously Akame will eventually have a battle to death with Esdese, but the hint in this chapter doesn't necessarily mean the former will kill the later, for all we know, it could be a red herring, especially in this manga when there're so much jobbers who were all hyped at first (Budou, Izou, the guy with the scythe teigu).

Please, wanting to protect a friend isn't a romantic development. This is specially true for Akame, who cherishes her friends more than anyone.
