This show just keeps on time-skipping. Episode 2 takes place in 1991. This episode takes place in 2011. What the...! 20 freaking years!

Hah... So that's how Rin and Mimi live by, while not aging. They just tell people that they are decedents of themselves.
According to Mimi, they are doing this job because it's their proof of living. Everyone wants something like that, and this job just happens to be theirs.

The girl that died at the beginning had this disease, but the island had already disappeared, so Mimi/Rin says it's impossible.

Apos, as usual, plays chess with a chained up, stabbed, skewered woman.

...Geh... To get information on Rin (who was abducted), Mimi and Kouki has to go ask that lesbian woman from episode 2. But first, Mimi has to have a yuri-H-scene and Kouki has to look and do nothing. If he doesn't look, no deal.

But it turns out Shibitojima still exists, and that's where Rin was abducted. Though, of course, she escapes after being killed through surgery by that sadist.
The sadist has a weird robot suit...

Mah, Kouki goes out to the island with that friend of that lesbian woman who's also a lesbian after getting "paid" by Mimi again. By helicopter.


Kouki ends up eating Shougo's sphere thing and turning into an angel to save Rin. After tossing her into the ocean, he goes back and starts eating that sadist, only to get the sphere taken out of him by Apos and die. The ship rocks and Apos loses the sphere, so he takes out the sadist's sphere, killing her. He breaks the sphere and drinks what comes out.

KOUKIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! WAAAHHHH!

I really can't believe that Kouki is dead, this is so sad ;___;

I knew that Sayara wasn't dead yet. But now she really is after having her orb taken away bla bla. Glad to hear T rie again though (sadistic tone FTW!). I actually lawled quite a bit hearing her cry out "angel"

Another very good ep imo. Holy moley time skip though, 20 years is a long time O.o (but now mimi have more of computer to brag about, 3 screens! XD

Rin is still cool as ever, but she seems rusty. I still have no idea why she allowed herself to be dissected the first time, seen as she wasn't chained down or anything. That was unless she was already injected some drug that cause her to be unable to move.

Kouki is the man, seriously. I feel really sorry for his wife and mimi and Rin. It was just a sad end all around.

I know it might be a little late to say this since everyone still posting in the thread I assume likes the show, but you're SPOILED! All of you! Well not all of you, but most of you.

It was hard not to shake my head at some of the earlier posts complaining about the blood and the boobs in this show. You all have been exposed to, what I call the "Full Metal Alchemist" generation of anime for far too long.

Now I'm only 18, but my first exposure to anime was movies like Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the shell and Akira. Were talking boobs, sex, blood and exploding heads here! Then there was stuff like Miyazaki movies and Sailor Moon. Those were the only two genres of anime that existed for me back then. Then there were mangas like Blade of the Immortal and Crying Freeman...I mean what the s**t, that comic consisted of nothing but sex, death and penis.

Then relatively recently (and by that I mean in the past 10 years) people suddenly discovered that manga and anime were becoming popular and the industry exploded in the U.S. Suddenly your getting bad drawn, bad acted, bad written cookie cutter bullshit anime. Your getting stuff that attempts to be brutal but is just as laughably bad as the last manga you just read.

I had lost all faith and anime and manga, and only recently started watching/reading again. Surprisingly I've found a few shows that have proved to me that theres at least a few people out there who still care about what they're making.

THIS show, even if the plot falls apart in the end, is still a gigantic breath of fresh air for someone like me. So far the writing I like, and I just hope they can keep it up. Whats not to like about a hot female character who reminds you of the Higlander?? Sure theres boobs, but theres boobs in a non sleezy environment. What I mean by that is theres boobs but there isnt any leering teenage Japanese boys around in the show with nosebleeds, waiting to be punched through the ceiling. Theres blood but so far its all relevant to the story. Not to mention I've yet to see any "Kill Bill" type decapitations where the blood sprays like a sprinkler for 5 minutes.

No my friends, this show if anything compared to anime's past is quite modest, but quite refreshing. I can't wait until episode three gets subbed...

To Ailith, I somewhat agree. I saw Ninja scroll and such as much of my first anime and I didn't like them much because alot of them seemed to have mass nudity simply for the sake of it, and it annoyed me. What I have seen in mnemosyne isn't too much imo and has its place/meaning as well. Also a personal opinion, spoilering just because it would do a bit of spoiling to some who haven't watched first two ep's

The "lesbianism" actually makes sense to me, only the females get to be immortal, couple the facts that A) men turn into those angels that destroy them (and live short lives) and that B) normal men will die before them from aging, it's much easier to be with each other knowing it won't be over in a matter of 20 years or so (considering the whole aging thing would get in the way).

The storyline is ok so far I suppose, but it really does feel more like a servicey anime, especially in this last episode. Some of the drama moments were nice, but the whole plot with spreading the disease was mostly eye roll worthy stuff.

Maeno's sacrifice shall never be forgotten. I didn't think for a second that we'd see the end of him this episode, not until he was saying goodbye to his wife and child. Very upsetting end, especially with that BGM played in the last scene. I want a damn soundtrack release even more now, though so far no release information.

I absolutely love the scenes with Eipos. His lines remind me of the ones spoken by Kaworu from Evangelion. Of course it helps that they both have the same VA, Ishida Akira --- only he can get away with doing an amazing job with those type of characters. Also his role in all of this is starting to become a little bit clearer. We'll probably hear more about it next episode.

Regarding the next episode, looks like we'll be seeing the male and female characters from the OP. Looks to be quite the sexy episode, yet again.

Episode three was a bit disappointing overall, with a weaker story than the previous ones. The ending was BAWWW, and we now know what Apos is doing (and it's freaking twisted and creepy), so it's not a total loss. It wasn't bad, but I feel they could have done a lot more with the time they had available.
