This was quite possibly the best episode of the series. If the show keeps it up, we could be looking at one of my favorite shows of the yeah here. I just hope the ending of the season doesn't mess this whole show up.

Amazing 17th episode.

The shit has truly hit the fan now. It has taken this long for the story to get to this point, but even the ride has been worth it so far.

The whole description on the Alpha Stigma as a form of Magic Eyes still reminds me of R. Shiki/N. Shiki though. Both sets of eyes allow the user to see into some unseeable form or structure that constitutes or reveals something about the existence of their world. One sees magic; the other sees death.

I'm not trying to criticize the two of them, but it's an observation that has often been resurfacing in my mind for quite some time now. It's kind of interesting to say the least.

I felt Luke's eyes could've been more sinister. He reminded me of a baby for some reason. I wonder how Ryner ends up with the human consuming gentleman. Looking forward to that.

And then the heart breaking bounty Luke sent him, telling him to get out of town. Document shows his best friend ordered a hit on him and he found out his girl is off limits 'cause of her psycho brother.

Sucks to be him.

think back to the first time the squad made their presence (discounting that stupid ep1) where they all got knocked out pretty easily by ferris/Ryner

how many "monsters" are there in this show? each of them seems to be able to wipe out everyone else on the surface easily

Ryner has to stop his Shinji-emo-syndrome and start saving the world

btw i always knew a char with closed/very small eyes surely is hiding some great power, Luke u did not disappoint me, good job!

Sion discuss about the missing persons with Ferris. Meanwhile in Gastark Kiefer learns there are more Cursed Eyes than Alpha Stigma. But the pattern on the eyes of Ryner resemble Alpha Stigma, she comes to a probably answer, The Lonely Demon. The King takes interest on Kiefer. At Estabul Claugh get a trail of a killer whose believed to be a Alpha Stigma. He's been looking for this guy for a long time and wants to kill him. Finding him murdering a village. The black guy curbstomps both Roland and Estabul knights. Cutting off Claugh's magic arm too. Claugh orders his men to retreat but them disobey him. Preferring to stay and have their dumb leader escape. Yeah all those soldiers will die. Back at Roland Milk's squad is looking for her. A bunch of guy try to ambush Like but it they who are trapped. Milan shows himself proposing for Milk's life Luke must kill Ryner. Luke refuses. Milan about to send dark beasts on him but they are destroyed. Turns out Luke as a trap for Milan wraping him in deadly magic wires. Goes to show guys with eyes wide shut and opening their eyes are badass in this show.

Ryner, just what are you planning? Kiefer's gonna join up with another idiot who despises war. Hope the consequences won't be too tragedic... "Black Reaper" devouring everyone. His way of 'eating' is the most convenient I've ever seen, and he even absorbs the magical power of the things he eats! Poor village... poor soldiers. That guy's freaky. It's like he's pointing at your head and you get decapitalized... Also, he got Clough's arm, holy shit... the episode doesn't lack action nor gore for sure. So... Clough basically goes a long way just to go back with no soldiers left and his arm lost. Damn, just damn. Back at Roland, Miruku's friends look for her. Luke owns Milan's pawns. Alright, let there be darkness... or not. LOL When Luke pretended to have that "oh crap!" expression I thought crap, it's over... just to find out, he's a damn badass. I thought Milan was already strong, and it's the first time I see Luke get serious, this is just too awesome. Looking at the preview, the next episode will most likely keep up the excitement. __________________

That SE from the guy's magic fist blast was awesome. But this arm ended up... The part where the soldiers stalled for time was pretty cool... Quite commonly used development, but it works. tears (Rather, I feel it is something lacking in recent anime... Oh the good old days...) Still, it's always so funny, in every anime, when the crowd goes: "He's gonna win!" Did well in showing how over-powered Iino Dwooe is. 2. how charismatic Claugh Klom is, able to bring the best out of his men, including the newly joined Estabul soldiers. And I've been refraining from saying this for quite some time, and finally I can say it. Luke is a bad-ass pawner! And an extreme specialist in traps, covert ops, and intel. aw man, if there's a sequel, he'll show more awesomenesses against etc., and etc.

ars89 One-Eyed Dragon Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: NJ, USA	Spoiler for my take on ep 17: I was sad that ryner left, but i don't blame him, felt bad for Ferris, Claugh and the black guy have some history, i wonder why he let him live last time, Claugh better get another arm if he wants to beat that guy, don't like that th gastark king is getting close to Kiefer, the guy in black seems to have a different eyes than Ryner, his power to consume people was badass, he might have one of those eyes that Kiefer read about, Luke is badass like Lucille, but he should just make everyone happy and kill Froade, upset because not alot of screen time for Ryner this week, i like how he was eating Dango at the end and thinking of Ferris

You knew this episode was going to be something going by Ferris' reaction regarding Ryner running away. I'll flat out and say Black Reaper-san (his name is Tiir i believe) scares the hell out of me. I mean there's that smile, along with the way he just devours humans. That type of thing has always freaked me out, with no exception here. Props go to Sakurai Takahiro, who really brought that eeriness to life with his voice. As for Claugh, i've always had the theory that the magic arm wasn't his to begin with, so we'll probably see a replacement. That scene though where Black Reaper-san was holding his arm while standing on top of the tree, and then quickly changing to Claugh's reaction was so so good. Riphal is still plenty epic, though he doesn't look as bad arse without the eyepatch. Don't take it off! Must say it's quite a shocker to see Miran loosing in a fight, though it's about damn time. Luke has been shown as the character that's more then meets the eye, so there's no surprise here. Can't wait to see the outcome there. The preview for next weeks episode, oh my. Ryner working along side Black Reaper-san? This was quite possibly the best episode of the series. If the show keeps it up, we could be looking at one of my favorite shows of the yeah here. The pause afterwards is also unique, leading into a quieter version of the refrain and then jumping up again. Eh, it keeps trying to climax in the end which I didn't really expect but it's fine either way. Overall a likable song. __________________

So, Milk was kidnapped, but not for expected reasons. It makes sense that Frouade would do something like that and persuade someone else to do the dirty work...looks like that backfired. Now I'm wondering what skeletons Luke's got in his closet... With so much going on, I can't see this series ending in 26 episodes... __________________

I mean, I expected him to lose on his first try, but I never thought that he would lose that badly. Hopefully, he's got a spare magical arm somewhere waiting for him, otherwise I don't see how he still could be as useful against their enemies.
