I think this episode was a good for a number of reasons:
1. Introducing the different sets of special eyes known in the Denyuuden world. 2. Showing there's many more awesome characters in this story (looking at you, Luke). 3. Ryner's emotional instability. 4. Further development on Ferris. Other than that the action was good. That, and Froaude always makes things interesting.

The moment Fraude asked Luke to kill Ryner, I thought that this guy deserves a beating sometime soon. He's been getting his way for too long now. I am so happy Luke gave Miran what he deserves. He's one of my favorites now.
As for Riphal, I hate that guy for interrupting just when Keifer was about to get to the meat of her research. Her role is the one I am most interested in right now. Also I just love how she is searching for clues about Ryner's alpha stigma instead of staying with him. PS. I just love the bgm that was being played when soldiers were attacking Tiia to save Claugh. The music of this series is just beautiful. Perfect for a fantasy series.

remember Ril Orla, the pink haired guy who had the ring of lightning beasts and fought Miran after Miran kiled the nobles? He used an Ino Dwoe crystal to try and kill Miran. Ino Dwoe is type of cursed eyes of Tiia. The most powerful(by far) of the 5 types of cursed eyes...
that aside, Tiia and Claugh are awesome |

Comparably the current era is better as it is between humans. That was the era of heroes. What did Ryner's other personality call itself? A god, a demon, a hero... Those with cursed eyes according to Kiefer's research are descendants of those beings. |

lol that sucks for Ryner. I can kinda understand Sion, he does have the responsibility of a king, and he can't just let a walking time bomb roam the continent freely after what he witnessed in episode 3. Maybe he gave that order so that he can avoid the guilty feeling of not taking all the steps required of a king? Or maybe he hates Luke, and hopes berserk Ryner would finish him off
Either way, I wonder how Ryner would react to Sion when they meet again? Maybe in the next episode?

Thanks for the answers.
Well, looking at the preview, it seems like Ryner will be 'bunched up' with Tiia and at the same time will have to face Shion, though their faces' expressions don't seem pleasant. D:

Damn, episode 17 was great. You could really tell that Ferris cares about Ryner after watching this episode, she seemed very lonely without him and so did Ryner at the end.
Tiia was really badass, even though I feel sorry for Klaugh for loosing his arm but that dude is overpowered with the Iino Dwoe, it seems like the only way to kill him is with physical attacks but even then he seems pretty fast and really strong. Looking forward to next episode, it seems like Ryner is going to meet up with Tiia, and perhaps he will get to see Ferris also. |

Only Luke in the squad has seen the letter, and of course Miller is aware of it as well. Please refer back to episode 1, when Miller is talking to Sion and mentioned 'he'. The 'he' is Luke. In another episode he mentioned again but I forgot which episode. This is as much as I can say for now.
