If you re-read those chapters... Sasuke, as a child, asked said "Thats why you killed them!" after Itachi announced them as a mere measuring stick... afterwhich, Itachi exclaims, it was very important for me to do so... thus agreeing with what Sasuke said. That is proof enough for me

i doubt he could have killed the entire clan, im guessing that the uchiha clan had a head just like the hyuga clan, that guy must have been a master too, so if itachi were to have fought that guy i think he would be alot more beat up then he was.

In the manga we see corpses in teh streets, then we see itachi standing over the corpses of his perants. My geuss is he jsut killed everyone in his path.. And remember he was a captain of the ANBU at age 13 so he DOES know waht he's doing in a fight..

An interesting question though is.. isn't itlikely that more than one member of teh uchiha clan could have been out of town on a mission or some such while Itachi was on his little spree? If they're were, wouldnt we have seen them by now? either helping to take care of sasuke or maybe pay him a visit?
Since no sign of this ahs been shown it is probebly safe to assume that most of the clan is either dead, or in hiding. aside from Itachi and Sasuke,

No, everyone in the clan is dead. They said again and again in the manga that everyone is dead and they are the only two left.

Remember, not everyone in the clan had Sharingan like Sasuke and Itachi. Some of them never develope the Sharingan their whole life!

Itachi can easily kill everyone because remember he did graduate from the academy at 7. Considering Sasuke, Naruto and all the rest of the gang pretty much graduated when they are 12 - he was probably a lot younger than everyone else doing what ever he did. I still don't get the age thing very much since Naruto supposely failed 3 times and Sasuke probably never failed, so why did they graduate at the same age? Could it be that they made new rules about age of graduation after Itachi incident?

Besides, Itachi was someone no one seems to understand, even his own parents. I am sure the rest of the clan fear him too the same way his own parents did. He would be strong enough to kill everyone.

was more or less that the clan had undergone a massacre. Kisame himself said that he'd heard the entire clan was wiped out by Itachi, thats including Sasuke. He was (mildly) suprised to find out that Itachi had a brother. So it might not be so unreasonable that others survived(by evading detection). Granted it is VERY unlikely, since Itachi probebly hunted them down one by one to leave only sasuke. I remember Sasuke saying something about the reason he was left alive was so that ITachi wouldnt be the one who killed off the entire clan. He merely killed "almost" teh entire clan, leaving only Sasuke left. So if Sasuke kills him. it will be Sasuke who "killed the rest of the Uchia clan" since "the rest" Is itachi as far as we know.

Sorry if I'm overstepping, but to put my two cents in...

Even if Itachi did kill all of the Uchiha clan save Sasuke, that doesn't necessarily make him a 100% cardboard cut-out of an evil guy. Sure, it's a bit farfetched, but if you've read chapter 210 (I think), it's fairly easy to see that Kishimoto isn't going to stick to the realm of predictability.

On that note: What if the Uchiha clan wasn't as honorable, pure or loyal as we're made to think? What if the Uchiha clan was planning to betray the Leaf and join with Akatsuki and Itachi, being an Elite ANBU (captain?) was assigned to kill the clan and use that to infiltrate Akatsuki? Of course, this would be presuming that a Hokage, in this case, mostly likely Sandaime, would have organized this set-up and Itachi's sparing of his brother was because Sasuke was more than likely unaware of his clan's treasonous activities. Of course, he couldn't reveal his true intention to Sasuke, and hence left him with only a cryptic message.

Sound like the stuff of fanfiction? To give credit where it's due, SOC Puppet has actually explored this topic slightly deeper and fleshed it out more. I'll provide a link for anyone interested in seeing the story. But it just makes you do a slight double take to even consider that Itachi could end up not being so evil.

In my mind, anyway, I think it's been established that Itachi killed his family for some purpose or another. I just think it's a bit trite to have it be a random psychotic power trip - honestly, that gives him about as much character development as a log. It'd be interesting to see if they could even pull off a turn to good - would that then make Sasuke the evil brother? - but I'm just looking for a good mindfuck. I don't want something predictable, so I guess I don't even want my own theories to be correct, I just want to be shocked.

His Naruto fiction are pretty good. My only gripe with them, is the characters tend to be a little OOC, especially Naruto.

Agreed. He (She?) seems to take Naruto and put his character into fast-forward mode, which, for his purposes, works well. I'm a bit more lenient with Naruto in "Eye of the Beholder" though, because there is a stated time gap. "Bloodlines" seems a bit rushed and a bit choppy, in hindsight. But when you compare it with a lot of the stuff in Naruto fandom, you almost want to kiss him for his somewhat sane perspective.

I agree with you, especially on Bloodlines' choppiness. Id contribute that to having so many subplots. Theyre entertaining but a little longwinded...

Hmm, yes, he could have killed them, but not so quicly as to escape the reinforcements that were on the way. And that was the whole point of him leaving, he didn't want to have to fight every jounin in Konoha.
