Nothing on Mediamatters is dedicated to campaign initiatives or political fundraising, so I'm unclear why you "reported" the group. Additionally, public lobbying is allowed under 501(c)(3), so simply being "biased" toward a political agenda is unimportant (honestly, every single non-profit is biased toward their own goals and ideals).

I'm sure that he reports all biased organizations be they left or right leaning and isn't a really lame right wing troll or something stupid like that.

The disaster that used to be an esteemed reputable Wall Street Journal thanks to its "tabloidization" under Murdoch:

You Sir, are absolutely correct about that.

It's very sad too.
The Wall Street Journal has gone from a reliable investment newspaper to a corporatist rag.

I honestly hope Murdock has to sell the Journal to a group of more truth minded individuals interested in actual capitalism rather than corporate-socialism.

Perhaps with a more "Austrian" viewpoint for a change.

Fascinating how China is "interfering in another country's internal affairs"

Not to poke too hard, it does seem to be a rough ride for China's leadership in coming to grips with global citizenship being an "all directions" street.

The commentator Tavis Smiley has a week's segment this month on his visit to China, including discussion with high school youth and such. Whatever you think of him, it was an interesting interchange.

They could get sued for Libel if it isn't true. If they've tapped a phone, and know it's true, they know they won't get sued for libel. Also, these Newspapers have the biggest circulation in Britain, and in fact the entire English Speaking world. No other English Newspaper, bar the Times of India, has a higher circulation then the Sun and Daily Mail. They didn't get there by fabricating stories.

Also, for the latest "missing girl" case (of which Millie Dowler was one) using these methods they can find out about the investigation before anyone else.

Also, if you're coming from an american perspective, British Tabloids are veeery different from American Tabloids. They have no direct American Analog. Stuff like the National Enquiror isn't expected to be truthful. Likewise, it's harder to sue for Libel in the US.

Tibet is a problem for China for years, yet they don't want to go of it like North Ireland for the British. Similarly, they have been claiming that Taiwan belongs to them when all they want is the Kaoshiung trade port and strategic value.

20 years down the road, when US descends into a civil war and becomes a gigantic Somalia across the Pacific, my government will bend over and hand over Singapore to them. Then you'll see me in a gulag for opposing their hegemonic ambitions - screw their "communism with Chinese characteristics".

If you honestly think that will happen you need to learn a lot more about US politics. Historically speaking, the current political bickering is only slightly worse than average.

Ehhhh, Taiwan is a bit more complicated then that. I mean both sides agree that China owns it. It's just that they disagree on what the legitimate government is...

Maybe, but I still find it rather worrying even thought (or maybe because) it's on the other side of the border...

Bloody hell, this is the kind of implosive stuff I was wondering would start bubbling up:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/17/wo.../17police.html

Not just a newspaper that used to be respected before Murdoch but now an agency of the government - Scotland Yard - is now spiraling into the mud as the light is shone on the revolving door between the Murdoch operations and the government crime investigation unit.

Members of Parliament said in interviews that they were troubled by a “revolving door” between the police and News International, which included a former top editor at The News of the World at the time of the hacking who went on to work as a media strategist for Scotland Yard.
On Friday, The New York Times learned that the former editor, Neil Wallis, was reporting back to News International while he was working for the police on the hacking case.
