Akise... who knew he had such a role in the whole thing.
I'm glad he managed to save himself and outsmarted Yuno.
Yukiteru is just way too naive... and easily influenced.
Yuno is very suspicious. She was never normal, but what is she?!

So Akise found out the truth about the game and was able to keep himself alive, well for a little bit. So Deus is gone, but no one has won the game yet, isn't the world supposed to blow up now? So Yuno had like 3 or 4 extra fake diaries, wonder what that implies. So Yuki did get Akise's last message right?

That's actually quite a simple question. How can he trust her? Because for the last 3-4 months she's the only thing that has kept him alive. He's had to trust her, he's learned to trust her.

How many people were once yelling and screaming at Yuki for not trusting Yuno before?

Now? Faced with a "truth" he doesn't want to believe, and the choice between Hinata and Yuno, he chooses the one that has always been by there for him and protected him.

Even if she is pyschotic, she loves him, and he trusts that love.

Okay, so in a few episodes before people hated Yukki because he didn't trust Yuno, now they hate him because he trusts her.
People hated Yukki because he was unable to kill, now they hate him because he kills.
Seriously, what do you want exactly?

I think that the point is that he can't stand that truth. So he didn't choose who has always been by his side. He chose who didn't side with that truth. It is different. He doesn't trust anyone. He doesn't know what trust is. He doesn't know anything. He kept living in a delusion. He has never tried to understand. As that dude said in this episode, he is like a stupid dog.
Spoiler for episode 22:

Spoiler for episode 22:

I think that's definately part of it, but I also think that if he didn't trust Yuno as much as he does, he could have been convinced that Hinata was telling him the truth.

Basically, if Yuno hadn't called him up and told him he was being betrayed, he might have listened to his frieds. Him not wanting to believe them was a big part of it, but his faith in Yuno tipped the scales.

They want a protaganist that always makes the right choices on who to trust, when to trust them and how much they should trust them. The same for killing - they want a badass who is fine with killing people who oppose him, but not when they actually like the characters/its the wrong choice, even if they are opposing him, and he doesn't understand why.

Escentially, they want perfection. Unfortunately for them, Yukki's personal and moral stuggle through this hell is one of the bigger parts of the show and one of the thing that makes him interesting as a character

I will never call yuki a coward again even if he start to do things like before and only because of this episode. It takes balls to kill the first girl that seems to be in love with him ( or at least is what I think)

You have to love yuno

It seems that the diary that was destroyed was from god itself which is confusing right now since that would trigger the destruction of the word in 2 seconds

That guy that kissed yuki, is he really gay or it was just a trick ? after all he said that he loved yuki to god.

Is the next episode the last ?

Did anyone else notice that Yuno and that short chobits demon thing thats always with deus have the same eyes? I noticed it when whats his face that kissed yuki was figuring it all out as he was dying.

It could be a far off guess but what if she made her own diary, stole the identity of yuno and disguised herself as yuno? Could explain the 2 diaries. If deus is the god in that world could she be the devil? This could also explain the split personality yuno has.

Akise isn't gay.
He's Yukiteru-sexual.

OK, so from my previous theories on Yuno, the reason she has multiple Yuki phones is because it is from the previous world that she won the Future Diary contest. The one that reads Amano-kun is from this world's Yuno, while the one that reads Yukii-kun is her original one. I could only see 2 phones total, so I'm still sticking to Yuno only winning once before, not multiple times like warita has been stating her friend has said.

Of course, then we are now back to whether Yuno wants Yuki to win or not. I originally expected Yuno to let Yuki win in order to pass the burden on to him and make up for not saving him in the past. However, since dead people cannot be revived to their original form, only created in Deus' own image, Yuno could possibly want to win in order to "experience" Yuki over and over again. Yuno knows about what everything is to come because she has already experienced it, hence she told Yuki about his friends' "betrayal".

Well, we'll see what happens next week with what Akise wrote on his phone.

Ok, so when Deus grabbed Akise, I was half-expecting a musical interlude while they stared at each other followed by a squish!

The kiss was not unexpected as I'd been expecting that pretty much since Akise appeared, and the moral of the story is you do not snog psycho-girl's boyfriend while psycho-girl is watching.

I was one of those who screamed why doesnt he trust her???..... and I still dont see why he shouldnt trust her from his perspective.....thats the bitter irony of it. She didnt fool only Yukki, she fooled us as well.... and we should keep in mind that the angle of our sight is broader than Yukkis, after all we have information he doesnt, so it is only natural he keeps trusting her. Heck, I would do the same, if I was him.

But what really threw me off balance was the kiss Akise gave Yukki....... I didnt notice Akise was in love with Yukki. Now, I have seen a yaoi or two, so this isnt upsetting me in any way, I just didnt expect it. And somehow I prefer to see this kind of stuff in genres specifically reserved for it (= yaoi/yuri). In a normal anime this catches me unpleasantly off guard. Also.... Akise is into BL? He never came across that way.

Akise's obsession with Yukki was a bit more apparent in the manga. I remember that the anime didn't show the scene in the manga where Akise somewhat touched Yukki's butt, and also his encounter with Yukki in the Paradox spin-off ... There are signs that show his his subtle dedication to Yukki before too, though I guess the anime downplayed it a bit. Before this episode I even thought that the kiss might not happen, and they did it, so I was kinda surprised as well .

I tend to think talking about Yuki's decision this week in terms of trusting Yuno (or not) isn't quite the right angle, honestly. This eek it basically came down to choosing to believe the route that'd leave open the option of his being a "good guy". Specifically:

He wants to win so he can revive everyone. If that can't happen he's just another murderer. Believeing Hinata is dangerous for two reasons: firstly, if she's right about what Deus told Akise it means Yuki can't actually be a good guy, because his strategy just won't work; second, if she *is* "betraying" Yuki to let 8th win, then Yuki's likewise going to be unable to be a "good guy", because he'll be dead.

So then when Yuno calls him she makes it easy for Yuki: first, she tells him something he can easily believe based on what he's already seen -- he'd totally believe that Akise would've tried to kill Yuno, because that's how things were when Yuki left -- and then since he thinks she's telling the truth about the first part it's easy for him to believe the second part, too, especially since it's what he wants to believe anyways.

It's due to these reasons that I think the Akise kiss is there for more than just trolling Yuno and referencing Kaoru. It demonstrates to Yuki that Akise's motivations might actually be sincere -- motivated by the exactly the same thing that Yuno's seemingly motivated by -- which then makes it easier for Yuki to believe that Akise's being honest with him. So yeah, this episode's scenes do seem to at least have some above-normal depth of characterization included in the planning, even if it's not made obvious in the execution (or even executed that well, imho).
