I agree with him... If she can't beat Sakura I can't see her winning over Hina... Even more with the recent OVA and the near to come second season...

Wow, after the results I almost felt like jumping off a building. My votes for the arenas where I didn't really care about won, but all the important ones for me lost......

Stupid ISML, it's not like I care about your results, sheesh.

The result is quite acceptable (since that what i expected).

Wow, we have so many votes more than back when i was still in ISML 2008 (didn't follow till the end due to assignment+ exam =(

My worst lost this round is Marisa, a close lose at that =/

PS: I really like the result map
Ad what is "Wild Card" means in this contest :?

Erm... I'd be more worried about Aquamarine 7 than Aquamarine 2, if you know what I mean...

If you look closely at the candidate schedules, you would begin to notice a pattern. If you sort the match numbers in order, you can actually see a circular looped pattern between 63 of the 64 candidates, Haruhi being the exception. All 63 of those candidates will battle that pattern in that order, but at some point where a candidate meets herself in that loop, instead of fighting against a mirror, so to speak, she battles the Wild Card, which is Haruhi.

Sort of confusing, I know, but I'm a math guy, so I get it.

I understand it (i think) actually

But why Haruhi then? Because she likes to change the order ? =D

It was either Haruhi (Pre-ranked #8), Kagami (Pre-ranked #1), or Fate (Defending Champion). I think we chose Haruhi because there was a noticeable difference in the rating in the tier system we used, and while the top 7 were close to each other, Haruhi was a little farther from whoever was 7th (I think that would be Kyou), but rated a little higher than 9th (Suigintou). In other words, there was a hole.

So... we kind of gave her tier 1.5, aka WC.

However Mei put up a fight against Haruhi...Makoto rolled over and played dead for Nagisa.
Mei and Nagisa being from the same series as opposed to just the same company means SFF is more likely to occur and likely to be more severe. Based on the preliminary rounds, Mei is unlikely to be significantly stronger than Makoto. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she'll resist SFF better than Makoto did, but it could end up a lot worse for her.

"Wild Card" fits Haruhi so well it is scary. If she can't be number one, I think she'd like Wild Card.

Watching the Haruhi-chan episodes makes that rather clear...since they mostly just take her personality and exaggerate it to the extreme. Since her personality was already extreme...they didn't have to exaggerate much.

And the scary part is how much of Konata Izumi we see in that "exaggeration."

Or is it all Aya's fault?

As far as the Aqua for Aqua thing... eh... I support it, but if there isn't a big rally for Akari from somewhere, it's just a lot of wishful thinking. My love for Akari is more of a personal and private thing and I really don't care what anyone else thinks about her.

I'm just happy she got recognized and I get to vote for her.
Same here, i never had big hopes for Akari, but in my honest opinion she is 50% more moe than most of the people here

The Konata voicing would be Aya's fault...but possibly the writers impression as well. Yuki is the one picking up some of Konata's traits (amusing as well).

And the maplike thing melange makes are always cool.. awesome.

In my mind, she's so incomparable it's just a novelty seeing her in any saimoe event. Her "performance" here is trivial to how I feel about her.

There are plenty of other girls to get bent out of shape over.

Space Opera Time:

The Dawn of War. The year is 2009.

The tenuous peace in the galaxy was broken after the implosion of the Great Void. The opening of space brought with is a colonial moment from the Grand Systems of the JCS headed by Knights Shana and Louise. In addition to this the mysterious Touhou arriving in the space once occupied by the Great Void.

This shift in power brought about conflict along the borders of all the major and minor powers.

While the God Empress Haruhi and Key Advisor Kyou were busy attending to internal reoginizations, the Twin Systems of Hiiragi would head out to join their new Key border world paleontologists of Misuzu and Key Intelligence Force Ichinose in exploring the new open space.

The Combined Forces encountered the Touhou. The younger Hiiragi world would take on the Fast Forces of Aya, while the Intelligence Force of Ichinose would match wits with there counterparts from the World of Knowledge. The new Key border world of Misuzu would encounter the toughest challenge, the Magi of Marisa: "Stealers of Things Precious" and equipped with rather large beam cannons. All KyoAni Force managed to defeat the Touhou Patrols and returned to KyoAni space to report to their respective commands.

Meanwhile the commander of the elder Hiiragi World Forces, the Legendary Kagamin, encountered scouting forces of the JCS in the form of the Third Kugimiya Knight, Louise of the Void. The fight seemed unavoidable between the tsundere commanders, but quick action by KyoAni Forces resulted in the overwhelming destruction of the Void Fleet, sending it to the rear of the JCS Systems for repair.

Meanwhile:
Nagisa the Bold would investigate the new addition of the animalistic people of Makoto. Her bold use of Dangos caused the inhabitant to roll over for her with the cry of "Auu~ Auu~".

God Empress Haruhi's investigation of the Key loli world of Mei however was not so easy. Her Chief Dog Soldier Kyon was even effected by the power of their warrior's battle cry of "Onii-chan". While Haruhi was able to quell their power, Haruhi makes plans to use this new weapon against her enemies.

Key Advisor Kyou on the other hand was having a dispute with the Starfish worshippers of Fuuko over the rights to the legendary Ushio. While the skills of Kyou paid off, it just might have been that the legendary Ushio also sends the fighters of Fuuko into a dazed state.

The preformance of the battered Kanon Systems has come under the review of the God Empress and her Intelligence Specialist St. Nagato-chi. All Kanon forces are to redouble their efforts in the days ahead.

Outside the KyoAni Empire:

First Kugimiya Knight Shana decided to investigate the mysterious world of Hanyuu to see if they still harbor the Fifth Column from Hinamizawa. The "Cute Rebellion" was put down by Shana, but not without heavy losses.

Meanwhile the Collector for Oyashiro-sama, Rena, has set her sights on collecting the last of the Negima Empire...the World of Evangeline. As the Collector has managed to gain samples of all the Negima Imperial Worlds during the pervious war, the process was quick and nearly painless...for Rena anyway.

The World of Rika-chama would defeat a raid from the Moe Marines from Mikuru with loss of much life on both sides of the encounter.

The JCS was mostly victorious along it's fronts, dispite the humiliation suffered by Louise of the Void. Even in defeat the Power of Meme was strong with Minori verses the Older Power of Desu~. The Old Guard World of Ayumu (otherwise known as "Osaka" the Lightheaded) was defeated by what seemed like an assassin from the world of Shiki.

Other regions have regained or maintained their power in this tenuous time.

The Maidens of Rozen have regrouped victorious and defiant once again.

Nanoha and Fate have set forth to "befriend" new worlds. Nanoha encountering heavy fightpower from the Touhou, but was successful in her art of "befriending through superior firepower" against the Scarlet threat.

Fate's voyage into the non-aligned systems resulted in the most one sided fight the galaxy has seen since the middle the last war, with the total "befriending" of the Blades of Kirino.

The Touhou had one victory as their Commando Mikos from Reimu managed to topple the Old Guard Bot of Chii.

Finally the Empire of the Geass has contined to infringe on the KyoAni Empire and defeated the Forces of Nayuki. The God Empress is expected to declare total war against this threat much like she did in the last war against the then independent World of C.C. Only time will tell how this goes.

(There is potentially so much more, but there is only so much I can do. I would encourage others to focus on the other areas of the tournament or build up on the naming conventions (or remember some I missed from last year). Toradora need some naming...aside from the Fourth Kugimiya Knight Taiga that is.)
