I don't know man but I feel that this chapter pacing is still too slow. Should have started the chapter with Erina 3-0 Momo and then she having a flashback before she collapsed, and then the next chapter will about how amazing Erina's dish was.

Just your imagination. Pacing's fine, but is not like we haven't had complaints in this thread about things dragging out, too

One chapter per dish is plenty enough, IMO.

Ignoring this chapter which picked up the pace, I feel the matches have been too slow actually. We've been getting roughly 4 chapters per matches during this tournament (1 for preparation, 1 for the first tasting, 1 for the second tasting, 1 for the results). It's too much considering the amount of matches.

Anyone know how many chapters it's been since the regiment de cuisine started?

Over 30 so far. But this has less to do with the plates and more with the caliber and plot relevance of the contestants. Like, if this is going to be the last time we're going to see some of those guys cook onscreen, then is fair to spend one or two chapters. It's not like all of it is cooking. There was a suitable amount of chapters that were spent solely on character backgrounds and/or development, and that is always welcomed in my book.

That's a good point. The fact it hasn't all been about cooking is something I appreciate.

I guess my main problem isn't so much the length of the matches, but the length of the tournament. Especially when the outcome of the tournament is already known (I doubt anyone out there believes the rebels will lose). They shouldn't have made the stakes so high, this way there could have been some suspense, which would have made it more interesting.

Agreed. It should just be your regular tournament. That is why Autumn Election tournament was so great because we don't know who will win the battle because Soma's plot armor will not kick in since there was nothing for him to lose if he didn't win.

I guess it is up to each person then. But I thought it would be better if we could get better details in this match, since this is Erina's true debut. Dedicating maybe another chapter to show Momo's cooking and judging may help to emphasize Erina's victory.
Perhaps the final rounds will get the most attention. After all, Momo is still fodder compared to the other two.

I thought this chapter did well in showcasing Momo's skills. Her dish seemed more impressive than the one she made against Megumi. With this and her previous match, she's been well established as a fearsome opponent.

What we really need is details on Erina's skills, which I'm sure we'll get in the coming weeks.
