If you're interested in how the multiplayer modes work, here's a video presentation...
...and, just because it's there, IGN's take on the opening hours of the game. So when's all this coming to a shelf (literal or metaphorical) near you? Answer: 27 May.

I would respectfully disagree - 'haste makes waste' is an old saw for a reason; remember how many times we have seen games rushed to make some arbitrary date, at the cost of quality (KOTOR 2 is one of the more famous examples). Perhaps this statement from the devs' collective mouths might be of help.

Okay, I've been playing this game. My thoughts:
Good god, this is basically almost Person of Interest the Game. I find it's really easy to get caught up with intervening in random crimes as they happen and then before you know it you've been spending almost 5 hours straight being Mr. Reese. Well, I was trying to be Reese. I'd put in almost six hours of "Mr. Dillinger" moments (as opposed to "Mr. Reese", because honestly I was pretty crap at this whole intervention to start with, so I got perps to back off with my gun ) before I looked at my skill wheel and said to myself, "Right, I have about 12 skill points, I need to unlock more skills so I can use them," and went to do the "Open Your World" mission. Now, whether you do Open Your World early or late is up to you; you can actually get by for a while, but it does make things a lot easier. At the start of the game, Aiden's smartphone has some hacks and stuff, but it doesn't have full access to the CtOS backdoors; doing "Open Your World" (which is IIRC the third campaign mission or so) gets you a face-to-face with Badboy17, who gives you a new phone with full access to the CtOS backdoors. That's what they mean by the special phone. In that regard, the casual hacking of everyone's phones is like how Reese and everyone else casually bluejacks people's phones. (I want a nice suit DLC now. 10/10 would buy. I don't want to be Aiden Pearce, Vigilante; I want to be John Reese, the Man in the Suit. ) Some advice for new players: save your cash and stuff. You don't really need to buy weapons because you'll pick up all sorts of weapons in your sidequests - for example, I started out with the Px4, I got another 9mm (a Glock clone, IIRC) from somewhere, I picked up a 1911 from some dude while intervening (and managed to get the Spec Ops 1911 for free, woot! Suppressed pistol is best pistol) as well as the R-2000, I picked up the AK-47, OCP-11, Goblin, SVD, and SGR-12 while running sidequests... Also, do criminal convoys and gang hideouts - not only are they great for finding guns (well, as you're starting out), but you do get some good rewards and stuff. Some advice on Criminal Convoys: Pay attention to if you're supposed to Eliminate or Knockdown the target. Knockdown means you need to do a baton takedown on the target, which means you got to deal with his escort cars and his car. Eliminate means you can just kill the buggers. XD One of the campaign missions will have you stop by a gun shop to buy a 416 rifle; while you're there, get a grenade launcher too, for the criminal convoy missions. Also learn the maps and get a feel for how you can plan things out: one of my best moments was waiting as the convoy came through an intersection, and I hacked the traffic lights. I only meant for a pileup to block them (since they were exiting a tunnel, they'd have some problems turning around), but the resulting traffic snarl actually took out the lead car, and the target's car and chase car crashed into each other. While everyone was still stunned, I leaned out from the corner, 416 at the ready, hit Focus and headshot the target and the crash survivors. Also, once you can make other stuff, Jam Coms are your friend. I always carry a few while running interventions; as soon as someone dials 911, I hit a Jam Com to kill the call. Because goddamnit it is fucking annoying when you're chasing a perp on foot, the fucker is shooting at you, and the police blame you. Chicago PD do your fucking jobs. Some suggestions on which skills to get early on: If you really want to min max your ATM payouts, you'll want to get the ATM cash upgrade and the Profiler Upgrade. The first gives you more cash. The second actually identifies rich people and people who are carrying system hacks, and places a blue marker on them. So if you're not keen on taking money from people who can't afford it, here's an app for that! If you can wait even more, the final ATM cash upgrade will give you even more cash, but honestly, you're looking at about 11 or so skill points being used on noncombat/hacking things, so I'd suggest ATM 1, then Profiler upgrade, then get ATM 2 later on. Definitely get Focus - it's really helpful in gunfights and driving, lets you focus to hack shit while you're being chased. There's also a hack for disabling helicopters and controlling trains: get these. You will need them. One campaign mission involves you being pursued by fixers with a chopper: I made my escape by disabling the chopper, breaking contact, and making a run for the train station. I then got on a train, chopper followed me to a tunnel, then I stopped the train, jumped on the tracks, killed all the goons who'd managed to drive in, then because I was under cover, I sent the train away and just waited out the chopper. (I've yet to find a reliable anti chopper rifle.) For interventions, before you head to the marker, as you get close, do a perimeter sweep and observe the area. In the suburbs or stadium or food court-like areas, perps will usually flee on foot; in downtown alleys, perps will usually have a car waiting. For the former, I tend to go empty handed so I can baton them; for the latter, I'll have the R-2000 ready so I can try and put a few rounds into their tires and give me a chance to chase them. ...but if you're really, really good, you'll be able to use cover to sneak really close to the targets, and then as soon as your number becomes victim or perpetrator, you're vaulting over cover to tackle them and introduce them to your baton. And at that point, that's when I realised I'd stopped being Mr. Dillinger, and had become Mr. Reese. XD Verdict: Worth buying for the gameplay alone. Edit: Also, I'd forgotten this: remember how I said you can use Jam Coms to blcok 911 calls? Well, if you're close enough to the 911 caller - like right in front of them - you can use a takedown to... confidently walk up to the caller, pluck the phone from their hands, hang up, and smash it on the floor. Pretty sweet. XD

I'll say this, on Sunday I kept trying to do the campaign missions, and every single time I wanted to get on with the campaign, the profiler would alert me to another potential crime in progress. So at first, I was like, "Heh, no biggie, I can handle this."
Six hours later, intervening in yet another potential crime, I was going, "The numbers never stop coming." T_T On the other hand, by the time I finally got around to Open Your World, I had a lot of skill points, so that evened out, and to be fair you do get some good rewards from the various random missions. I mean, all the guns that I unlocked above, I would have needed to buy them if I hadn't done the missions.

Hello guys!
Since the announcement I'm waiting for this game. It looks like alot of fun. Now, I don't think I'll get a PS4 anytime soon and might as well ask here someone for advice. Spoiler for Space:
Thanks in advance and sorry for the bother! |

Downloaded a patch the moment uplay opened up. Haven't gotten any bugs for the 2 hours played.
My only complaint is that on the pc it does get hectic and troublesome juggling the sheer amount of options at your disposal to deal with situations. Personally I wish you could map certain items and skills to the number keys to make it easier.

*shrugs* I haven't had any issues with bugs, so far, save for some glare when exiting a building into a firefight. Which I think was supposed to happen, since you get that IRL.

When I first saw the promo videos, I totally thought the same thing as most people - that's it's going to be a Next-Gen game that changes the gaming experience in groundbreaking ways.
Now, all I hear people talk about is how overrated this PoS is, and I'm not so sure anymore...
