uhhh the data entities have been around for a lot longer than a millenia.....afaik they've been around for millions of years, if not from near the very beginning of the universe

and please don't be so silly as to compare "ZOMGZ SUPER BEINGS" from a COMEDY anime to "ZOMGZ SUPER BEINGS" from a true scifi anime...if you want to play that game..then my "ZOMGZ SUPER BEING" Christian God (i'm not Christian, but i hope you get my point here, if not, then god damn there's no hope for you), is far superior to the data entities of some friggin scifi manga or comedy anime

I know that. It's just that I don't feel like typing out a lot of extra zeros. There is no difference in this case.

Heathen! Burn the Infidel!

Anyway, I can't wait for Live Alive!!!

Although it will be on more sedated familiar grounds, it looks promising and im glad of a little breather after those two action fun episodes.

Suzumiya Aznable

Do you mean Dolza from Macross (Robotech)?

The President was actually pulling off a Desslar/Desslock from Space Crusier Yamato/Star Blazers.

The president Desslar/Desslok

Glad to be of help!

If you're implying that football is something to be "grown out of", I'm quite suprised. After all, we -are- on an anime message board.

A funny episode, although not as impressive as the last one, and some of the references were lost on me, so I gave this one an 8. Yet again Haruhi somehow seemingly reads Kyon's mind, her attempt at confidence injection was amusing aswell. But for the most part, this was definately Yuki's episode, it was great to see her reactions.

So, did anybody find out what's Yuki's typing at the very end of the ep yet?

The "reading the mind" part to me, is actually a substantial puzzle of the series. For example, we often don't actually know whether Kyon is saying something or just thinking about it when we read the novel.. similarly, we've seen this "reading effect" in the previous episode where Haruhi thought that Kyon was saying something. I think one poster construed this as Kyon mumbling, but this episode showed otherwise...

Again, this lends to both the theories of Haruhi being god (and hence being able to read minds) or.. -Kyon- being god, but this one is a trickier story. Mm. Still food for thought, I think.

Classic.

Agreed!

I'm glad I read the chapter before watching. Nagato Yuki is on a grand level of kawaii in this ep, its not really a secret. Definitely knew there was more to this girl from the time she slipped the secret note in the book before giving it to Kyon (what is his real name anyway??).

Although, Yuki has that "poker face", I have a feeling that she is simply very good at keeping her emotions inside. Yes, she definitely has something going on inside.

Emotions. Yuki's got'em, but if she is considering that data as unimportant junk, or unrelated info, then she probably doesn't understand them very well and they are running amok. Pehaps she has them filed neatly in her super cleano internal data storage facility. May be she even peeks at them every once in a while? I don't know, it's just a thought.

Anyway, she has really great eyes

Kyon isn't god, though I myself posted a theory in the speculation thread of him being the god last time. Right now I totally belief he's a normal human. I'll post at the speculation thread in a while.

At 05:04, Kyon said the only memory he wanted to retain from the cultural festival would be Asahina-san's fried soba cafe costume.

At 05:09, we are instead treated to the following image of Tsuruya-san (not that I mind, of course).

That's kinda odd. Could Kyon be unconsciously shifting his attention from Asahina to Tsuruya? Is there hope for Kyon x Tsuruya fans afterall?

At first I thought that was Tsuruya as well, but upon further inspection, her hair style is totally different. Not sure who this is, maybe some other Mikuru classmates in maid costume.

But yes, Tsuruya in a formal maid costume is the most gorgeous maid I've ever seen, even better than Mikuru's version.
