First: 4 cubes of the sauce mix are probably enough, even though the package has 5.

Second: If you don't have meat don't give in more potatoes.

^ - those two things helped making it extremely thick in the end, my suspicion is that the culprit was the potatoes though... Oh well I'm going slightly off topic.

3rd: Don't cook/warm it too long.

The third one too will make it incredibly thick, and not how curry is supposed to be.

I may repeat myself but I still call goulash here for the perfect dish to satisfy his needs.
Moreover especially garlic and onions aren't that expensive. The meat might be though.
Lets see according to the star cook J. Lafer's recipe I found on the internet 1kg meat is enough for 4 persons. so he'd 'just' need 250 kg of beef per day.

Given that Nikumi was already ready to offer him A5 meat on discount she might be willing to offer him lower rated meat at a discount too.
(Tbh I doubt A5 meat by the description 'almost drinkable' would fare too well in there anyway).
That way he might be able to get around in terms of money.

Also its something he can warm up without actually loosing quality.

Realistically speaking though I doubt Souma would go for something western.

As you said something Western is not an option because his goal is to impress Kuga.

The Elite 10 from all indications probably dont have any idea of any of the members (Isshiki being from the Polar Star dorm and the number 9 guy who interacted with Soma are the exceptions and of course Erina). But yet kuga went out of his way to interact with Hojo and invite him to join her that tells me she has something he badly wants and im guessing that its some special secret recipe her family has. My guess is that whatever that recipe is Hojo will use the time to teach it to Soma and given Soma's ability i suspect he'll master this and THAT will be what he uses. As for what it is i dont know nor do i suspect it.

Edit: Seems like Erina is finally getting some relevance in the latest chapters given how many time she has appeared around Soma.

So Souma's gonna challenge Kuga with his stall. Happy/creepy Isshiki is also looking forward to the festival. It looks like he got his idea from Erina- training arc breakfast challenge, which pretty much made him smug towards her, and she got mad LOL.

About the poll, I'm surprised Souma wasn't leading from the get-go, usually in WSJ mangas, the MC always gets the top place. Not really surprised by the other results, as they were fairly natural/expected. Although, it was interesting/surprising that Hisako beat Alice by 1 vote. Never seen that happen before lol.

Isn't the condition to have shougeki with 8th seat is to beat /surpass him at one thing. It doesn't mean he needs to beat the 8th seat with the same dishes style. Soma can beat him in term of sales, revenue or the number of the customers.

Plus it is really meaningless to try to beat someone in his game. You don't see a boxer go to learn karate just to fight karate guy.

But why do u have to be so bitter about Erina in 2nd place? She always has high ranking from the start. Just because this forum is a cave of Erinahatter, doesnt mean Erina cant have the majority number of fan.

I surprise that Erina in 2nd again because recently we had more chances to see more her side stories, not very much but still better than first 90+ chapters. Guess Souma went from 3rd to 1st owing to recent chapters, after becoming an ikemen ~

It was obvious he'd beat him with a stall and it was just as obvious Erina's breakfast challenge was the key. The question now is what Chinese dish will he create and the next question is how does Hojou become part of this.

As for the poll the reason Soma wasnt leading from the get-go is because by typical WSJ standards Soma is pretty dull. Lets look at other WSJ series. Naruto Bleach One Piece. These are the main ones in these the MC has something special about him that makes him stand out among the main group and something his rivals lack. Soma is just a good cook and for the most part there arent many truly noteworthy characters in the series. If you look for the most part at that poll the characters are people who have played a role in the early part of the anime especially takumi who is hilarious in his actions. Hisako got noteworthy because like in any harem or as i refer to this one psuedo harem. When a background character has a huge arc to herself she's gonna get people to notice.

unfortunately the reason why people are bitter about erina in 2nd place is because of the fact that like a majority of the characters in this series she just plain and simple isnt a good character. You get it to a small degree in other series but besides the polar dorm and the aldini brothers pretty much every character has the exact same personality and ideology which makes the series extremely flat and dull. Erina of course is the poster child for this problem and to see her make second place is pathetic even moreso when she has maybe 6 relevant chapters in the entire series


EDIT: Kurokiba and hayama are 2nd tier as far as the issue i've mentioned. with the characaters.

Well, that's a shame. After his loss, I'm expecting him to land a good win, especially now that Kurokiba and Hayama have taken his position as Souma's rivals. As for the other spots...the polar star dorm members sans Megumi are currently benched and while panel time is mostly reserved by Souma, it's sometimes difficult to determine which characters are actually important. Taking ch.120 as an example, you have a full-page dunk from Hojou, who appeared in one or two chapters before this, some 70 chapters ago, in the 2nd block. Go figure.
