Ange didn't want them involved apparently I.E. protecting them. Classically really.
Understand what from the Princess? Pray tell. Seems to me while she may want to help all the good citizens she still seems to be on somewhat of a high horse to me.

For fucks sakes Princess is on her high horse! Do you not remember how she locked Ange away. She told her to disappear! If that's not on a high horse.

Everything I said has been stated in the show.
She's fed up with the Ange who's a loner, doesn't trust anyone and only cares about Princess. She told her that in episode 4 too. She doesn't hate Ange, nor does she want her to disappear. She just wants Ange to stop repressing her true feelings.

Personally, I thought this episode set up a conclusion next week that will pretty much reset everything. The rebellion is coming from colonial soldiers of the kingdom and a rogue faction of the republic. It can be eliminated without harming the Duke, and "L" can be put back in charge of Control.
As for Princess and Ange, I'm honestly not sure which one we were seeing in the final scene, but either way it's perfectly doable to restore them to their previous places at the school. Dorothy and Chise can be returned there as well. In other words, everything will be in place for a second season. |

Watched episode 11:
The danger to the lives of Charlotte and Ange is very real now. Princess should have chosen to escape .. or maybe she thinks it is impossible to escape, because they will be hunted down by other spies even if they reach the white house in Casablanca? Waiting for the final ep... I hope this anime does not end in a sad way...

I only watched the episode once the other night, but I'm still confused about the plotting. First the new guy says they want to kill Princess, but at the end they say they want to elevate her to the throne. I must have missed something since these two plot lines are clearly contradictory.
Which princess did Zelda think she had? And what was up with Gazelle? I think I need to watch this a couple more times!

The way I understood it, the new guy running Control wanted Ange to kill Princess and replace her. But that's not all. The rest of the plan was to use Ange (disguised as Princess) to manipulate dissatisfied soldiers from the kingdom to start a revolution (those are the soldiers at the end).
But that wasn't the whole plan either. The revolution is just a facade. As Ange told 7, the way Control is doing things, is as if they wanted to be found out. And sure enough, Gazelle and Normandy already found out about the soldiers who want to start a revolution. So what's the real plan? It looks to me that Control wants to start a fake revolution to stir shit up. Basically they want to create in-fighting to weaken the Kingdom. Once the different factions destroy each other, the Commonwealth can jump in and take over the Kingdom easily. As for Zelda, it doesn't matter which princess she thinks she has. Either way she needs a princess to manipulate the soldiers, who despite being dissatisfied, are still loyal to the Kingdom.

OK, I've watched it again.
As I guessed, the near-term plan was to complete Operation Changeling and kill Princess. Then after Ange assumes her role, somehow the Commonwealth intends to take out the three other contenders ahead of Princess along with her grandmother. A bombing perhaps? My guess is that it does matter to Zelda which Princess she has since she seems committed to the plan of assassinating the "real" Princess. The person standing before Zelda claims to have done the deed, but if she's really Princess impersonating Ange impersonating Princess, then Ange failed to fulfill her mission either accidentally or, more likely, intentionally. All of this ends in just one more episode? There seem to be a lot of loose ends, especially now that they added a whole subplot about these rebellious soldiers. Chise looks likely to reappear, and I'd imagine Dorothy and Beato will help in the end as well.

I guess it's time to get the ball rolling. Shame that this Zelda character just appeared now, I would have liked to see more of her. I wonder what happened with Dorothy too. Maybe "L" contacted her?
This pretty much what I was afraid of. Too often a lot 1 cour shows will spend too much time faffing about then in last two episode sudden jammed a plot in there. While we know quite about the protagonists themselves we know very little everything else beyond the initial premise. So instead having these being built up over the course of episodes everything is just escalating now not because the story has come to a natural climax but due to fact that show is going literally have one more week and there needs to be some kind of resolution. |

Holy fuck. This episode is mind-boggling.
Why do I have a feeling Ange will die and Princess will assume her identity as spy in the end? Or maybe Ange will get her position back and Princess will die?

I feel like this show will likely get a second season in the future. Maybe not soon but eventually as the finale seemed like it wasn't complete.
I liked the spy thriller feel of the finale in particular when the others went to save Princess. I also really like Ange and Charlotte's relationship throughout this anime including the finale. The final episode felt kinda rushed and really open ended. Not the best to be honest but for the rest of the show, it definitely felt appealing to me. I hope this to at least get some epilogue or something in the future.

It certainly seemed to set up the possibility for a sequel series that was a bit more globetrotting. |

Well I suppose the ending was bound to be that rushed. Certainly leave themselves open to some kind of sequel. Although really it's not like the show remotely resolved any of the political issues that existed in the first episode so they can definitely return to that in the future. Definitely a rushed last episode, but open ended ending so they can do whatever later.
Still feels like they could have had a smoother last few episodes if they cut out some of the pointless episodes padding the middle portion of the show. But hey at least things are mostly good with the group. They can have fun on the beach and stuff.

Found the finale to be great. I was worried they would try to solve everything which would mean to be very rushed, but they only solved the problem at hand and left the more long term issues to be resolved in a future season. Of course, if they never get to do a second season it would spoil the end here, but seems like the anime got popular midway and may sell enough to warrant a continuation.
Would be interesting to see how they would really go about making the Princess Queen and the aftermaths (she seems to want to sacrifice herself for a better world kinda like in that other anime from the writer), and Zelda was also left open as another villain besides the Duke. It's interesting for them to have an enemy that seems to be a quite talented spy too who also carries a C-Ball. And if Zelda is around then the military side of the commonwealth would likely also still be around. I wonder if we see again those children soldiers who saw all that happen as future allies. In a way this season was more about introducing the members, building up a bond between them and showing their backstories. In a second season, I hope they would focus more on advancing the plot. While I really enjoyed the show, and enjoyed seeing episodes that were more about the daily lives of the characters I came to like, I'm much more interested in the direction the story can take. And I really want to see Ange break the wall around Charlotte's heart... in doujins would be fine too

Really enjoyed the series, but I don't feel a single plot point brought up in the first 80% of the series was resolved. Hell, thinking about it, I don't think a single one of those plot points progressed at all; they only got further explanation. Even the plot point that DID get resolved (this revolution) was only partially resolved.
If this doesn't get continued it's going to leave a really bad taste in my mouth. |
