Eh, what's a little blackmail right ? Or physically yanking someone who doesn't remotely like you off where you want. Downright darling to ask someone what it is like to have their dreams die. Also perfectly acceptable forcing a kiss on someone who again utterly dislikes you. And quite nice how he frankly threatens that this isn't the end of blackmail...
He's probably a wonderful guy under the surface .

Aside of giving him few hours of her free time so he can make his appeal . He also seems to have intent to keep his word and stay silent.... or rather I doubt he ever had intent to spread it in first place. Either way it was good deal as she has nothing better to do anyway.Cook is one with shorter end stick fighting losing battle from start.
And no he still has bad personality, it's just not that bad as you make it look. I myself would not have problem hang out with him.

Congratulations to Kase for making a college student(?) dating a high school girl look creepier than a 45 years old dating a high school girl. Not easy, but he really rose to the challenge.
(And even if one accepts the premise that Akira should pursue a relationship with someone closer to her age, she can probably do better than that creep. Even that moronic classmate who followed her to her work at least looks harmless.) |

Episode 5 is out!
I actually like how they bought back the manager's son for this week's episode. Always felt like Akira and him had a cute sibling-like chemistry. Masami's relationship with his son is cool. I think in general, this episode was interesting for the fact that it shows more of Masami's personal life when he's not at work. He seems like a normal average day guy. Very relaxed personality. The scenes with Akira hiding were kinda awkward lol

There we go. An episode with 90% less Kase brought the quality back up to normal levels .
Some good moments in there. Gotta love Yuuto. What an energetic kid. Caused a few problems but in the bigger picture helped things along with his presence. Though things did get a bit close to health risk levels with Akira getting cooked in that closet. Maybe they should have come up with a plan for when she was supposed to pop out that didn't involve "about to pass out." Just some fun moments. Akira getting a critique of her cooking being a bit too salty . The bit with the hamster throwing the business into chaos was fun. As was Akira basically taking charge and getting everyone back to work . And a good reminder to the manager that this isn't over. The date didn't bomb or kill her interest.

That was a great episode, with more info dump about Kondou. It was really nice to see that Akira discovered the other side of Kondou, his love for literature and writing, giving her more motivation to discover about him outside the work. The sadness on Kondou is still present tho but now we can see how little by little his life is changing thanks to Akira (for example their date).
One of the best elements on this adaptation and something that IMO makes it amazing is the body language, especially the way how these scenes are placed on certain moments showing the depth and meaning of these situations for the characters. Studio Wit is doing something incredible, not only with this series but with Mahoutsukai no Yome too, showing how to make proper adaptations unlike other series this season like VEG. |

That was a pretty sweet episode. Akira made some progress thanks to Yuto. It was interesting to learn more about Kondou. He apparently wants to become a writer, I'm guessing his dedication to literature is what eventually led to his divorce. His wife might have felt neglected, or frustrated that he was getting nowhere (depends on the kind of person she is). Loved Akira's display of jealousy at the end, even if I felt a little bad for Kondou who was so happy to finally be growing closer to his staff. I suppose you can't have everything.

So all you need to be a popular manager isn't books about managing but a cute hamster, got it. Loved how hard Akira took the "it's a little salty" critic. She probably wanted to hear a "this taste delicious!". XD
But now she knows where Kondo lives, she had his T-Shirt on and he ate her food plus with that hamster she got a reason now to talk and visit him more. This whole episode was a win-win for Akira.

Daaaw, Middle School Akira was so cute with her shoulder-long hair! <3
Ohmygosh, loli Akira with twin tails was super adorable! That huge smile! <3 <3 <3 Lolz about the little brother trying to run after those two fast girls. No wonder Akira is faster than her childhood-friend, she carries less weight with her in front. xD Really feels like this is a story where Akira has to find her love for running again or better said admit that she still loves it. We hear how she describes running as a kid and compared to her description of what reading&the library is like it is a difference like between heaven and an aquarium. She even got a photobook of running. Really liked that this episode focused more on Akira and her friend and not her love interest although we saw Mr. Kondo as well and him and that writer of that book seem to have some history together or maybe that is his favorite author or something like that. Or it is the same as with Akira, a friend who shared a common love, here books while with Akira it was running, and Kondo gave up, his friend continued, same situation with Akira. Maybe Akira fell in love with Kondo because he is quite similar to her?
