Nobody cares about the debts
It's just there to give excuse for Kogarashi's random appearances

Kogarashi does. It's his stock excuse for not choosing a girl, i.e. extending the story.

So there would have to be a token chapter somewhere along the line where he gets rid of that before he actually ends up with someone.

actually i dropped Hayate around the Manga arc, the whole idea of something great can be born from inspiration without any planning is way too much to me, nowadays, writing manga without planning in advance could be really bad
