A shame that the game ended that way considering that I just got my hands on the raw scans from the end of that particular match up until volume 29 of the manga a few days ago. I really wanted to see that final matchup against Kamakura and their "monster", and see Enoshima win that tournament.

@ookamigirl: this isn't over yet! Don't fool the watchers around. We have more next week and I can't wait to see how Mai will have problems integrating the Nadeshiko. Perhaps, we'll have a new manager who's a real toughie to say "it's my way or the highway".

Damn it sucks they lost.
Is next week's episode (26) the final or is this series gonna keep going?

It should keep going since they have only covered like 1/3 of the story so far.

Not at all. We have to remember that Kakeru still has to grow his own abilities and finally face Leonardo at some point.

About Pokemon, that was a neverending spiral and people got fed up in the end. Since it's about football, I hope to see Kakeru grow on a more accelerated rate and then catch the attention of a few pro scouts just like Suguru would have done for himself.

Flashbacks to their last match were nice.
Arakai wasn't surprised Kakeru adopted some of Suguru's moves.
Inter high match. Shukyu vs Teito.
There were some pretty impressive players.
Kakeru & team practice at the beach was really nice to watch.
Watching Mai & Seven playing with the guys was interesting and fun.

26 was a good episode.

That bit at the end with Mai and her flashbacks are they setting up Kakeru x Mai ?

I hope not, really. With all due respect to Mai, it doesn't feel right to see her that often hanging around with Kakeru.

The producers finally went full retard.

Beach episode. Of course it's anime-only filler, which is stupid considering they still have like 15 volumes worth of manga to animate.

I don't know what whoever is in charge of this series is thinking about. This show feels so pointless lately.

But In part It's Seven's fault... If she is really interested in kakeru she should tell him..

I don't know If there is romance between them in the manga (I really doubt It)

The thing is that in the manga Seven's feelings for Kakeru are never clear. She doesn't get as jealous as anime Seven and is sort of indifferent to Kakeru's feelings. On the other hand, Kakeru's feelings for Seven are more clear and intense, enough to make Mai back off on her own fairly early.

The anime is different. Seven's feelings are more obvious, so it makes it seem like she should confess or something. And Mai isn't backing off any time soon, it seems. I suppose they changed things so much to add love triangle shenanigans, but it's pointless and retarded.

I agree about how silly is that idea of a love triangle. One of my favorite series about football/soccer was Hungry Heart: Wild Striker. There was not even a single chance to even start a serious love triangle in there, it focused on the relationship between the two protagonists and about the protagonist's progress as a footballer; it was excellent that way.

Speaking of Seven in the anime, she really MUST start making her move quickly. I hope she's not just waiting Kakeru to confess. Sometimes, I wonder if that's a cultural thing in Japan that the guy should be the one making the move towards the girl and not vice-versa... which would be ridiculous if that's the case.

Captain Taeko in that black swimsuit... But I lol'd when Seven owned everyone in that school swimsuit and then Mai wanted to take hers off in anger.

Since I'm more used to the manga it's really weird for me to expect Seven to make a move on Kakeru when it's Kakeru who's more into Seven than the other way around.

The anime is just weird!

Summer fun at the beach!
These kid of episodes are always nice ^^
Seven and her school swimsuit were kinda LOL
Araki... he's just hopeless around food, but Momoka was a good incentive.
Beach volleyball/soccer game was fun.
Araki vs Oda for Momoka competition was interesting to watch.
The painful realization she already had a boyfriend was just ROFL
This sure was a nice and relaxing episode.

If I remember correctly one very early part of the manga, it was Seven who said she wouldn't mind letting Kakeru fondling her... oh well, you already know what I'm talking about.

It's not everyday a girl would say that, and even less if she wasn't interested at all.

Since that was the only time when she seemed to express any interest on him, I thought it was just character inconsistency. The manga was just starting and the mangaka probably still didn't know exactly where he was going.

In general it's obvious Seven cares about Kakeru a lot but whether she likes him is the big mystery of the story. Kakeru, on the other hand, doesn't hid his feelings for her.

Episode 28:
  • Shukyu vs. Kamakura High.
  • Araki's such a walking problem from the very second people let him off the hook with eating.
  • Ricky's first line was enough for me to call him a c***.
  • Takajo scoring... what a scorcher at the end of some great passing!
  • Kamakura's tactics on defending the lead went all wrong.
  • Despite his cool looks, the more it goes the more I want Silva to get his ass kicked.

Dunno if we'll see Enohsima play Shukyu some time down the road. But if they do, I hope we'll see Shukyu's stupid announcer cry; I can't stand him.

National finals!
Kamakura vs Syukyu.
That was some really nice soccer.
All the famous guys really made the difference in the quality of the game.
Even though Kakeru and others were watching from the stands, they were enjoying it.
Also, they were better commentators than the actual commentators LOL
Araki is just hopeless.... food is his biggest enemy.
