Manga 2.5-jigen no Ririsa (2.5 Dimensional Seduction) is getting an anime adaptation

Synopsis

"I have no interest in real girls!" So claims Okumura, the president of the school's manga club. He's your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Lilliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilysa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Lilysa convinces Okumura to become her photographer—and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilysa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.

Uhm, I'd rather have Ashford and Lilliel's story animated...
Joking aside, I have mixed feelings about this. The beginning and the current translated chapters I think are nice, but in the middle there were some arcs that I found really boring and cringe. I hope the adaptation will focus more on the romance part than on cosplay stuff.

Mmmm I guess it's cool, I remember reading this one a while back but I stopped. I don't remember why thought, maybe after this it will make me want to catch up.

I guess this could be ok. It be bad, but let's look on the bright side.

If they tap into the whole issue of him only showing interest when she looks like the character that could be fun. Random thought, but could tap into the whole superhero secret identity thing. Obviously he knows she's cosplaying. But there's some drama made in the real person not getting as much attention as the persona they are putting out there.

Anyways, will at least check it out next year.

Isn't a spoiler but it's obvious from the start MC tooks an interest on the real heroine beyond the cosplay and that he is actually working out it's hilarious as many expected him to be out of form.

To clarify, this is not on the level of My Dress Up Darling, this is more on the generic side of the rom-com spectrum, so don't go in with high expectations... just saying.

Yeah, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Not everything can be a "top 5 of the year" kind of show. A bit of lighter romcom fun with cosplay as a major element should be nice.
