[Manga] Naruto Chapter 525 Discussion

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc. Additionally, if you are posting someone else's synopsis (or their translation of a synopsis), then please provide credit were credit is due.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant parts of the chapter. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

spoilers still make little sense...

-The 2nd Mizukage and Tsuchikage, the 3rd Raikage, and Gaara’s pop-pop are summoned (didn’t we already know this?). Additionally, the Hyuuga Clan (the dead ones I guess) is summoned, as well as the Kumo-nin who killed the second Hokage (there names are Kinkaku & Ginkaku). Tsunade also knows Dan has been summoned (whether he confronts her or not is unknown).

-For no apparent reason, Kishimoto decides to introduce a new bloodline concept called Kekkei Tōta ~ Bloodline Selection. Presumably it has something to do with combining different bloodlines to create something new. The 2nd and 3rd Tsuchikage (Oonoki) are confirmed to have this ability.

-Apparently the 2nd and 3rd Tsuchikage are gearing up to fight…

-Zetsu (white or black is unknown) appears at the Daimyō's place

Excited for this chapter. But more excited for when they release the vid game with all the war characters.
7 swordsman are badass and watching the zabuza arc English dub 5 years ago is the reason why I got into naruto.

From what's being said, it seems the Second Hokage is summoned too.

Tsunade knows Dan has been summoned.
Something called a Kekkei Dōta (血継淘汰, Bloodline Selection) is introduced.
The Second Tsuchikage has a Kekkei Dōta.
The Third Tsuchikage has a Kekkei Dōta.
It gives the ability to create Jinton by manipulating Earth, Wind, and Fire.
It seems it's going to be the Second Tsuchikage vs. the Third Tsuchikage.

Gaara's daddy senses Gaara's chakra.

Zetsu appears at the Daimyō's place.
Oh, Dōta should be Tōta

Touta (淘汰) refers to evolutionary selection, as in the natural or artificial selection of certain genes and traits that causes a species to evolve into something new.

Here it might refer to the mating of individuals from different clans to create new bloodline abilities, perhaps by combining two different bloodline limits into a completely new ability.

This sounds like Orochimarus creepy work; we only know about what poor Sarutobi discovered. Who knows what that creeper has been doing in his spare time. Imagine Kabuto's happiness when he inherited his labs and materials.

This has me cautiously optimistic for some Byakugan development. Maybe we'll finally see the Hyuuga be legitimatized as a feared bloodline to match their reputation.

Seeing how there must have been a fire sale on DNA, Kabuto might as well resurrect the Uchiha as well.

You and me both because he wasn't even born when a lot of these people died. I'm guessing Oro had collected some of this DNA prior to his death (sealing) and Kabuto just stole more.

able to see tenketsu points that allows the person to controll another's chakra flow and a taijutsu that ptoentially can kill with something that may appear as gentle as a touch...nothing to be feared at all lol

I would never say that the Hyuuga shouldn't be feared, but we haven't seen a Hyuuga in action at even Kakashi's level. Neji could have been that but his character's been stunted due to lack of importance. If the author is going to bother resurrect Hyuuga it would least be cool if they were at that level of high end jounin or low kage level. Considering the Byukugan is one of the great eyes, lets see some great Shinobi to accompany the rep.

Well strictly speaking no one from the main family should have been resurrected. Otherwise the whole branch family concept is wasted breath. And if the resurrected Hyuga are branch, then they probably don't even know kaiten as that was a main house jutsu that neji figured out himself.

Honestly Neji, Shikamaru, and Shino all had massive potential to be on kakashi's level by now albeit with some stat trades. Byakugan would have been especially good if he used more than just gentle fist. Right now Hyuga is just a glorified version of rock lee.

I must recognize one thing about Kishi: He is doing some effort to create a war's atmosphere, at some moment i felt like i was watching "The Longest Day" or "A Bridge Too Far" (WWII movies). I don't think that everybody would like that, but to me it was great how Shikaku explained his strategy.

I like how Gaara's dad was aware that his son was watching them and keep quiet.

I'm looking forward to next battles, 1st division will be like the germans in Normandy or the troyans; i wanna see Mifune's Division in action too.

And what about the Kin-Gin Brothers... with the whiskers and all!

But... it's too much info Kishi, i want some brawl already!!!!

I'm interested in learning why they were sensing the Kyuubi chakra from those two.

From the whiskers i think that they could have sealed within them some Kyuubi's chakra...
IIRC, one of them have a gourd like Gaara.

Wow, what a fun chapter. There was some honest build up of tension (the first actual feeling of war), some interesting strategic thinking, and some interesting new characters and designs. All in all this was a good chapter.
