Well this was random. Announced here. Saw this a couple of years ago when I was browsing the internet and thought it looked a lot like Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance. Never thought I'd see it animated. Heroine in the cover doesn't look like a total b*tch so that's one point.

Spoiler for Episode 1:

Episode one was okay. At the beginning, I feel like I got spoiled, I'd rather not have that scene so that it wouldn't make me feel like there's lack of development prior to that; setting that aside, it was fantastically done. Regarding Diomedéa's series checklist running this season, it is ranked 3rd in terms of animation (thankfully no involvment of another studio in charge of animation assistance, I feel like they actually care about it somehow).

As for the characters, I actually sympathize with them even if I feel like nothing strongly interesting is going on. I think both Satsuki and Shizuno are good girls (frankly reminds me of Shoko and Saki from Valvrave the Liberator), it's just that I prefer the former more due to my anime girl preferences going to the more outgoing and lively personalities with a touch of high-level energy. What I don't really like about her however is she can get pretty annoying especially when she's argumenting with Moroha. The best thing I can point out about him is his hairstyle and while I don't think he's too bland, I feel like he didn't meet my expectations of a strong, level-headed protagonist that gave promise during my pre-air hype.

The fights are nothing special, that's for sure, but it packs with rather nice special effects and the animation movements are decently done. I also like the premise of reincarnated heroes with awakened past lives while they still live normal highschool lives.

Out of the four action harem LN adaptations I'm enjoying this season, I believe Unlimited Fafnir and Absolute Duo still appeals to me more, though I'm thinking of trying hard to enjoy this one as it goes on, if the character interactions can be properly done.

Diomedéa may be working on four shows this season, but out of all of the ones I've seen, this is ranked number 3 with a rather average animation with occassionally well-animated fighting sequences.

Nice episode start.
There's nothing better then a fight to reel people in.
The past lives thing sounds interesting too.
Fan service is inevitable & harem might be possible.
Still, the story seems good enough to give it a few episodes before I decide.

On yaraon they mock about the animation, they compare Seiken Tsukai to Mahou sensou . . . Sure is the n°3 in term of quality of animation after Fafnir ? Why have they done a lot of gifs ?

Doesn't seem to be any fantranlastions of the LN, looks like a series I would enjoy reading.

Anyway, I liked the episode. Had good battle music, and the past lives stuff is interesting.

The pitiful non-loli (for once) imouto is fun.

I think the MC will end up gaining memories of two past lives and be able to use both light and dark prana.
