Rename the "Unaired" forum
Perhaps it would be helpful to rename the "Unaired" forum to something like "Unaired or not subbed", as it does get kinda of confusing, as evidenced in this thread.
Yes, I know that it says it in the description. But a lot of people don't even read those. >_> Just a suggestion.

It's a good suggestion. We even considered the name, "Unaired or Unsubbed" when we were last restructuring the forums. Unfortunately it was decided to keep the name shorter and simpler. Besides, the name is still inaccurate since the forum doesn't contain unaired shows if they are licensed. Heck, it is just plain hard to create a 100% accurate name that will fit in just a few words.

I think we just entered a brief period where "Unsubbed" might be a better title for the forum than "Unaired" is. However I think that in a few weeks time most shows will have had at least 1 episode subbed, at which point this perceived problem will be over.
Remember the forum description is: Quote:

As JKaiser said:That's not wrong, but any accurate title will be unweildly since you'd also have to account for shows which are unaired or unsubbed and still not in that forum because they are already licensed. A better title for the forum would probably be "Unclaimed"

Considering the other 2 forums and their titles, I think just naming it Unsubbed would be better, since it's clearer, and there really isn't any special case were Unair would make more sense..
But watheva~ GHD's the boss.

Has the series aired yet? No - Thread belongs in the Unaired forum Yes - Check if licensed Has the series been licensed yet? Yes - Thread belongs in the Licensed forum No - Check if fansubbed Has the series been fansubbed yet? Yes - Thread belongs in the Fansubbed forum No - Thread belongs in the Unaired forum. Must get round and create a sticky in those three forums (a sort of Guide) and include the above. Doing so might help avoid the confusion (that's if anyone would ever read them ). |

Would be causing even more confusion Eks..
One might think you mean to say with those that if a series is licensed and fansubbed then it will be placed in fansubbed. ;) heh~ I agree with NoSaniWa's hard to read vocabulary, it's confussion either way. Most likely throwing an explanation will cause confusion, as explanations are bound to be missunderstood. Perhaps leaving things to the fragily pease they are in now will be best.. The system hasn't totally collapsed yet.. And for the most part it seems to work fine ATM.

Unreleased is also inaccurate as well as unclear. Even if it is clear that "Unreleased" refers to shows that have not been fansubbed as well as those which are not aired, it still doesn't account for pre-licensed shows.
Our implementation works fine, but the title is extremely problematic unless we make it rather long.

Meh, I think it's useless to ask for a renaming. We're not idiots, I presume. At least, I didn't have any confusion whatsoever regarding which thread belonged to which forum. And if people don't read the short description, they're at fault.

How about we name the forums by the level of Otakuness it requires to participate in them?
Like: "Joukyuu", "Leecher", "Entry Level"... When you think about it, that corresponds nicely to the current "Unaired", "Fansubbed", and "Licensed" forum clientel. This is a joke, of course.

"unaired" is just a rough approximation to the true complexity of that forum
