Hahaha.
Right.... ...... I could have bought the limited edition pack thingy on monday, when it was in stores....I'll tell you something....I'm 100% sure it's still there. Stores over here (The Netherlands) didn't actually give any attention the the release date which was set at 11 november, and began selling them on sunday. I've seen the game, I've played it, and I think it's overhyped, although I agree with JubeiYamazaki. |

Isn't it much cheaper and much better to buy unreal 2004 for that instance? You got better graphics and sound... gameplay... and lots of people to play it with... Did anyone here try the domination mode? It is awesome!

Obviously, Halo 2 is but an expansion of the original, but what I was looking for was the companionship of competitive co-op. We marathoned it by breaking up into 2-man teams. When both partners died, controllers moved on and game was restarted. And IMO, the new one is better than the original in the new weapons aspects. With the removal of the assault rifle, the default strategy is no longer "hold-down-right-trigger-and-run-towards-target." Vehicles are no longer like the finger of god, and the dual weapons mode takes suicide rushes to a new level. XD. Good fun while it lasts.

Heh...they also fixed the overall physics of the game. No more warthog launching T_T. I could always pop in Halo 1 for that though.

The only thing to really irritate me about the game is that it ends on a cliffhanger. And not a cool cliffhanger, more like a "WTF just happened?! You cut out there?! Let me finish the damn game!" cliffhanger. I don't have Xbox Live, may get it soon, I dunno, so I have yet to experience multiplayer in all it's glory. Otherwise it's seems to be a pretty good game, and quite a leap from the original Halo in all aspects.

1. PC verison was out first, so by default any ports are inferior as the original came out on the better performing/customizable system. 2. Halo 2 has a great rock/orchestric score. 3. Don't like Unreal. 4. Unreal is not Halo. 5. There is no vehicles. 6. No co-op for story mode. 7. I prefer the gameplay in Halo to Unreal 8. Everyone and their mother knows of Halo. Quote:

In my opinion Unreal 2004 pwns Halo on every single aspect:
1. There are tons of veicles... 2. Awesome game modes... over 10 different ones... 3. Excellent gameplay, and EASY to understand. 4 Lots of special movements that you can perform with your char... 5. Awesome graphics... 6. Awesome music... 7. Real time chat via microphone!... 8. Game editor... In other words this is the best online FPS out there simply perfect... And you don't have to buy an xbox or pay for xbox live to play it. You just need to buy the game... Watch the video!

Here my saying on this issue. I thing Halo 2 is so overrated and that there are other great games out there or soon to be release like Half-Life 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater are the top three game that I'm waiting for. However, I do think Halo 2 is a great game also and can't wait to get it. It’s just being over hype that all.

I have not played halo 2 yet but I have played halo, and I thought is what a great FPS. It was definitely the best fps for xbox. No let me rephrase that, best game for xbox period. All that aside, I think the game is somewhat overhyped. And what made it so bad is the fact they delayed it so much. About 3 times if i am not mistaken. I personally like the ps2 better because of the diversity and amount of games available for the console. Xbox doesn't seem to have as much selection as ps2 at all.

Dammit, I still need to get it. Plus, I need to get x-box live too. Dammit, Dammit, Dammit.
I like playing against my friends in Halo. That's why I thought it was cool. Now, that Halo 2 has x-box live compatability it's going to be more awesome, lol. I heard that Halo was going to be 4 parts, awhile back though. |

Halo 2... so much press... so much hype. Microsoft knows how to market their products. Unfortunately, i don't think it's as great as they make it out to be. I mean, the game is pretty cool and all, but the physics engine in Half-Life 2 (due to be released November 16/2004) is going to blow it away.
The funny thing is, there has been SOO much hype about Halo 2, and i've yet to see any advertising for HL2. Unfortunate situation. I am more of a PC person when it come to shooters, controlers don't feel quite right. Hopefully, HL2 will live up to what it's supposed to be! |
